Just a quick question... I'm now unlocked and s-off and I'm wondering...is it possible to flash roms from other carriers?
After posting this, the xda app tried to take me to the regular M9 forum so I went there and seen you can flash some of the roms. You guys can lock this and remove it

Hi folks,
I have a question for you.
I have just received my T-Mobile G2 HTC Android phone.
I am so happy i it, but I so get used to HTC Sense ROM. And for sometime I am returning to Belarus.
Here is my steps.
1. Make device SuperCID.
2. Unlock, so I could you use Belarussian SIM cards.
3. Flash Desire Z stock rom.
4. Done
But here is a question:
Is it safe to flash Desire Z ROM to T-mobile G2.
As I could guess, they have different radio images (US and Europe) or I might be wrong?
Do not post questions in the DEVELOPMENT section, use QnA or General next time!!!!!
*AFAIK*.... If you are super CID + full radio s-off then you can use RUU's from other regions. But why bother. stick to custom and carry on flashing through recovery.
also,... Radios can be used in other regions than those intended by HTC, for instance some people are using the radio from the Egypt ROM in the UK will noticeable improvement in signal.
The radio images are not a problem.
The only thing I'm unsure about is the way the G2 and DZ are partitioned differently. This isn't a problem for custom ROMs, but if you flash a complete ROM/RUU it will include the hboot too. So I would love to know if you can flash the hboot too and that will mean your partitioning will be adjusted, or whether perhaps flashing the wrong hboot will brick your phone. Though I am not asking you to experiment for me, because of the risk involved !
I wouldn't have thought the ROM flash would actually re-partition the storage, but I'd be interested to find out.

Is there is any Custom ROM for DZ, that I can simply apply for G2?

As far as I am aware, none of the custom ROMs are specific, and any of them should work fine on the G2 and DZ. So you should find some Sense custom ROMs in the dev forum that you can use, if that's what you want.

Hi guys. Sorry if this is similar to another question in these Q&A sections but i've gone through so many threads that i'm sick to the bones and ready to blow.
I have the original HTC Desire S-LCD model (slightly slower people, please note it is NOT the S, Z or HD, you don't know how many times this happens) and i used the official update for 2.3.3 gingerbread from the HTC developer site. The thing is though, it's very buggy and the lack of space is annoying me. I managed to get S-Off and install Revolutionary recovery onto it.
(HBOOT version says 6.93.1002 (not sure why it has the 6 part) and it says "Bravo PVT3 Ship S-Off")
I tried using root programs but none of them worked on it. To flash another ROM do i have to root it or can i just flash from this stage? Also what ROM would you guys reccommend? I'm wanting one with the new sense 3.0 or even the HTC Desire S ROM with sense 2.1 and apps2sd. I'm constantly uninstalling and reinstalling apps co its always almost full.
Again, sorry if this is unneccessary spam that has been asked before but i'm tired, confused, sick and annoyed.
Thanks, Huzi.
And please for the love of god don't tell me to use the search bar. At least link me. Please?
You can get some cool ROMS here: http://www.cooldevs.com/ that include upto sense 3.5!
New ROM has be flashed from recovery. Always follow installation instructions when you flash a new rom. To find a good one, check the developers thread.
A good beginnersguide can be found here on XDA (Sticky in General section).
Swyped from ICS with Transparent XDA App
reboot into recovery (either through the bootloader, or by adb reboot recovery).
If you just get an exclamation mark in a triangle, you need to flash recovery. Look at my guide.
If you have a custom recovery, backup your rom (it's pretty self explanatory how), do a full format from mounts & storage (apart from your sd-card), then select flash zip from sd, and then choose a rom to flash. Don't ask which is best or what to recommend. It's all personal preference.
ROM's I frequent:
Cyanogenmod
MIUI XJ
I can recommend the noobs thread it tells you everything, I've used it many of times and you soon pick.up on stuff.

So what you're saying is that I don't need to root or create a goldcard or anything? As long as I have this custom recovery I can flash a new ROM?
Also another thing that worries me is the radio part of the ROM. That was the reason I had to send my phone back to HTC coz there was an error when it was at the ROM stage and wouldn't boot an OS after that.
Can I flash a new ROM without the radio or does that mean no calling etc?
And also does the radio have to be specific to my region and operator? (o2 uk)
(sorry about the long winded questions)

Yes, you don't need a goldcard to flash a new ROM. The radio doesn't affect the booting up of the OS, it just affects your network signal and anything else associated with the radio. The radio doesn't need to be flashed everytime you change ROM's. You can look here to see if you have the latest one

The radios are not region specific
Thanks a lot for clarifying that. I think I'm gonna get started with a sense 3.0 ROM.

No problem bro hope you find a ROM to your liking. You could try this one its a 2.1+3.0 sense rom.

You know what? Delete all tutorials. What's the point of having them, when suckers will jump to every n00b like superheroes and will re-write the same things all over again?

And let me ask you something. Is it such a crime to ask for help and give help? I've read through every tutorial i needed and still ran into problems. A store worker doesn't ignore you when you need something just coz people have asked before. By signing up to XDA you are automatically willing to help others or even help yourself when problems arise.
Revolutionary. Single word that fixes all. Instead, they gave you even recipes for secret cake! That's not helping, that's spamming.

Maybe if it will has flashing lights and cool music n00bs will notice it...
Jesus sayd "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." and not "Kill the n00bs"
Two things:
1. Grammar FAIL!

Terepin, I just wanna say that I like your avatar. It adds character to your posts.
While thank you. I'm trying to do my best.
Hi,
I have a Droid Incredible 2. It was given to me with a custom rom but chinese and a lot of chinese softwares but it was working fine and it's sim unlocked and was able to use it here in the Philippines with my carrier. so I decided to flash a stock rom and I reaalized that the stock rom would of course only work with Verizon. My mistake is I was not able to back up the previous rom. So I'm wondering if there's a rom that I can flash that will enable me to use it again with my network here in the Philippines? And also, I have been wondering how this phone got rooted. At first when I checked the Bootloader was locked but it has S-OFF. So I decided to unlock it. Now I wanted to try some other roms, but roms I liked is requiring blackrose hboot. This phone has hboot 0.98.0000, I want to know if I will be able to upgrade it to blackrose with this Hboot version.
I'm really confused now. I need this phone working again, I don't know what to do,
Attached is a picture of the HBOOT screen
...err you can only flash ROMs for this device and from my knowledge correct me if I'm wrong ..we don't use black rose ...if you used the search thingy it wouldn't come up here...(now it will) but yea high rant over.....find the latest radio update your recovery make a back up flash my ROMs :+D j/p there are a bunch of great ROMs out there for this phone its your preference

Hello, I have found many threads relating to this under M7 sections but I have unsure if they will work on the M8. AT&T is replacing my phone because it has a bad microphone. However, I am already rooted with TWRP and ARHD installed. Can someone guide me in going back to complete stock please? I already have a stock backup and I found a stock recovery. However, I have no idea how to remove the RE-LOCKED logo in the bootloader. As I mentioned before, I found many threads specifically for the M7 on how to do this but none for the M8. Also, I am not s-off.
Check the general section. There's a topic covering it. You have to be S-off.

Have I researched?
Yes. I believe I have researched myself into complete confusion. I have spent several hours on research at XDA for my phone. I am looking for the proper download for my phone, and the directions for flashing....
I have unlocked my HTC 10and turned "S-off" via Sunshine. I have a couple of questions that I need to be answered. I am sorry if this is repetitious. I believe I have read to the point of confusion, and now need clarification on something. I am running the official 1.85.605.9 ROM, S-off and unlocked HTC 10, with Verizon. I have been rooted before with latest TWRP and custom ROM..... now back to stock without root or magisk and stock recovery
First ......
IS THERE AN ANDROID 7.0 STOCK ROM THAT I CAN FLASH USING ANY FLASHING METHOD FOR MY PHONE?? If so, please point me in the right direction ( link ). SneakyGhost's thread is good, and appreciated. Yet I would prefer a different one if available ( I read until my brain hurt on that sight....):good: All I need is the download link for the Verizon Nougat Stock ROM, if there is one, so I can flash it.
Second .......
Should I wait, another 100 years( sarcasm ), for the so-called "twice halted 7.0 rollout" from HTC? If I do have to wait, I will be selling my HTC 10 and purchasing a newer, more user friendly device.
Again, I am thankful for all help.
Read the ROM OPs in the Development section and see which ones mention that they work on Verizon. Or do you mean by "stock" unrooted? If so, not sure.
1. There is no official verizon Nougat rom yet as far as I know. Not sure how switching phones will solve this, verizon is the one that updates their software once htc provides it to them.
2. Since you're s-off you can convert your phone to a U.S Unlocked one and install the official nougat ruu. Look for the conversion thread for instructions. Or you can keep your VZW firmware and radios and just flash a nougat custom rom.
