Help going back to stock! - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I have found many threads relating to this under M7 sections but I have unsure if they will work on the M8. AT&T is replacing my phone because it has a bad microphone. However, I am already rooted with TWRP and ARHD installed. Can someone guide me in going back to complete stock please? I already have a stock backup and I found a stock recovery. However, I have no idea how to remove the RE-LOCKED logo in the bootloader. As I mentioned before, I found many threads specifically for the M7 on how to do this but none for the M8. Also, I am not s-off.

Check the general section. There's a topic covering it. You have to be S-off.

CID-HTC__332 help plz

hey, wats up?
I'm a bit new to the XDA site but i know my way around the Android OS to some extent.
I recently unlocked my bootloader, s-off (Sunshine app method) and flashed TWRP (with root) on my HTC M8 (international version).
phone is working fine, no probs...but, I recently received a notification of and update to 4.4.3
I did do a back up right after i installed TWRP, but, TWRP came with the root feature so even if i restore I'll basically have the same as before; a rooted stock OS.
Can u assist me in getting a stock recovery so i can receive the OTA update? or if its not too much can you guide me on how to?
I am seeing a lot of info around but i'm a bit confused.
This is my CID:
CID-HTC __332
I am more than happy to provide you with any further info in order to get me back to bare stock so i can take the OTA.
many thanks in advance..
Post in the Q&A section next time please.....that's what it's made for.
And you posted the same in my thread already.
Get your main version number and download the matching stock recovery, flash it and ota up. Root is no deal breaker when it comes to updating
And if you got back back to me in my thread you didn't even have to make new threads everywhere. Stay in one place and read carefully. It's all described in my thread too !

Need Help!!! (Sprint HTC One M8) Restoring Stock Recovery for OTA!!!

I've been trying to comb through the forums for info on how to restore the stock recovery for my Sprint HTC One M8 so that I can install OTAs.
The threads available are too confusing so if someone could walk me through it on here, that would be much appreciated.
For a little history, I've successfully rooted two phones using instructions on the forums. My old HTC EVO and now my HTC One M8.
I did so to install CyanogenMod 11 but went back to stock rom so that I could use the full potential of the camera.
Now that I'm back on stock, with CWM still on my phone, and I can't install OTAs.
It seems that ViperROM keeps the camera intact but isnt available for Sprint phones.
Can someone walk me through restoring the stock recovery?
I'm using a PPC Mac but I do have the ADB and Fastboot for PPC Mac so I can use those options if its part of the process.
My software version is 1.54.651.10
If you need any more info let me now.
Thanks in advance

Root HTC One M8 with Vodafone branding

Dear friends,
Yesterday I sold my Oneplus One to get a brand new HTC One M8. Thing this is gorgeous, but the only thing I'm missing from the Oneplus One is the software. Which isnt the least important aspect of a Phone imo. So I'm considering rooting my Phone and getting CM11 on it. The only thing is that I want to root it, but it has Vodafone branding on it. Can I just use the normal root methods or isnt that possible for Vodafone branded M8's? If so does anyone know a different method? If no does anyone know a link to the best (and simpliest ) root method for my Htc One m8 . Ive been out for a while from this rooting stuff and id be pretty upset if id screw this **** up. lol
Kind regards.
Normal rooting method will work. Unlock bootloader, flash/boot custom recovery, flash SuperSU or any rooted custom ROM.
Another thing, this thread isn't supposed to be in this section. Questions and troubleshooting go into Q&A section not general section.
I agree with above post
I have the same.Unlocked bootloader through HTC and flashed custom recovery and flashed SU.
PS I have not flashed any modified ROM and it i still S-on

First time rooting in years, need some answers

Okay guys, I just have a couple of quick (I hope) questions in regards to rooting an HTC One M7 on Verizon Wireless.
I've done a lot of research and I am genuinely confused about everything and really just need a few questions answered. I've done my research and done my googling but I still need some help.
I haven't rooted a phone in probably well over 2-3 years. The last phone I rooted was a HTC Evo on Sprint which was a breeze. I've had my HTC One for a little over a year now I believe. I'm getting kind of bored of it and I saw that CyanogenMod has come a long way since I last used it. Through my research I have found that the Verizon HTC One M7 is kind of difficult and complicated to root and I apparently need to S-OFF as well, which I have no experience with. My phone has been kept up-to-date (I know that's a bad thing in this case) and I'm running Android 4.4.3, software number 5.28.605.2, baseband version 1.13.41.0702. I'm not sure what out of that information is relevant but there you have it.
What I'm wanting to do is unlock/root/whatever my phone, install CWM recovery, and CM11. Now from the research I have done it appears that if I purchase SunShine S-Off (which looks like my only option) it will s-off, root, and unlock everything that is necessary to install the custom recovery and ROM.
So my questions are this:
I'm terrified of freezing/boot-loops because this is the first phone I'd be rooting without the ability of popping the battery out for a hard restart. Is it safe to modify this phone? Are there usually any issues?
Will SunShine do everything that I need to go from a stock Verizon HTC One to being able to flash CWM and CM11?
Are there any good tutorials on doing this with the latest updated Verizon HTC One M7? A lot of the tutorials I find seem to be outdated.
If the answer to the second question is yes, then all I need to do is purchase SunShine, follow install instructions for CWM, and follow install instructions for CM11, correct?
Thanks for your time and putting up with my stupid questions.

Closure for HTC 10

Have I researched?
Yes. I believe I have researched myself into complete confusion. I have spent several hours on research at XDA for my phone. I am looking for the proper download for my phone, and the directions for flashing....
I have unlocked my HTC 10and turned "S-off" via Sunshine. I have a couple of questions that I need to be answered. I am sorry if this is repetitious. I believe I have read to the point of confusion, and now need clarification on something. I am running the official 1.85.605.9 ROM, S-off and unlocked HTC 10, with Verizon. I have been rooted before with latest TWRP and custom ROM..... now back to stock without root or magisk and stock recovery
First ......
IS THERE AN ANDROID 7.0 STOCK ROM THAT I CAN FLASH USING ANY FLASHING METHOD FOR MY PHONE?? If so, please point me in the right direction ( link ). SneakyGhost's thread is good, and appreciated. Yet I would prefer a different one if available ( I read until my brain hurt on that sight....):good: All I need is the download link for the Verizon Nougat Stock ROM, if there is one, so I can flash it.
Second .......
Should I wait, another 100 years( sarcasm ), for the so-called "twice halted 7.0 rollout" from HTC? If I do have to wait, I will be selling my HTC 10 and purchasing a newer, more user friendly device.
Again, I am thankful for all help.
Read the ROM OPs in the Development section and see which ones mention that they work on Verizon. Or do you mean by "stock" unrooted? If so, not sure.
1. There is no official verizon Nougat rom yet as far as I know. Not sure how switching phones will solve this, verizon is the one that updates their software once htc provides it to them.
2. Since you're s-off you can convert your phone to a U.S Unlocked one and install the official nougat ruu. Look for the conversion thread for instructions. Or you can keep your VZW firmware and radios and just flash a nougat custom rom.
