Good evening,
I currently have AOKP d2att 4.1.2 and I'm trying to flash my phone with the stock ROM from Bell using the following link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426)
For about a month I was able to revert back to my stock ROM without any problem but this week I tried a couple of times to flash it but when it comes to reboot the device I'm stuck at the Samsung (animated logo) screen and that doesn't seem to go through.
Would that be because of the number of flash that I've done on my phone and it's blocking me from restoring it?
Thanks!
Boot into recovery and do a factory reset. Wipe cash data and dalvik. Reboot and should be fine.

I already done that but I'm flashing the stock ROM from Odin (FYI)
Did you do the factory reset after flashing stock ROM?

Weird as hell whenever i getsoft bricked i use that youtube vid each time.. idk why it doesnt work with u guys D:
hello everyone this is my first time asking a question on here so forgive if i got this in the wrong section.
i was wondering if you all could tell me how to "uninstall" cyanogenmod 10 off my samsung epic, but without unrooting.
i like cyanogenmod but i have to get it off because i cant change phone lines within my account because in order to put service back on my phone sprint wants me to dial ##somenumbers# and a menu is suppose to pop up but it doesnt and i think i read somewhere around here that you dial those "codes" in the dialer because they wont work.
soo I followed qbkings method to root my phone. youtube title = how to root the samsung epic on FC09
then i installed cyanogenmod10 using his method again
I did this to two samsung epics since i have two samsung epics at my disposal and i would follow qbkings method of unrooting
but i tried that on of the epics but odin failed and it got completly bricked and I mean hard bricked. so i am extremly fearful of even attempting qbkings unrooting method since i completly bricked one of the epics trying to unroot it.
and i was thinking that since i followed qbkings method i just need to go to recovery mode after turning off the phone and then clear everything data and cache.
and then do the install zip from sd card and just install the deodexedFC09 zip file that i previously put on the card when i was rooting my phone.
and then that would be it but i am extremly fearful of messing with the phone like that because i really dont want to brick my phone so i come to you all today for your help on this because i am new to rooting and flashing roms on my phone so i didnt really know whereelse to ask.
Ive tried looking for help on the forums and the web but i did not find nothing so i just rather ask then ...
You can buy a jig for like $1-2 to jump the bricked one back in dl mode then flash full stock, as for the other, there is a boot from sdcard rom that will enable you to activate your phone without uninstalling cm10

Also, you can just flash a tw mtd rom to get those dialer codes woring... just flash TPR (the peoples rom) after backing up cm10... flash tpr, boot it, call sprint, do your thing, restore backup of cm10... all done...
alright ill try that but can you tell how to flash the peoples rom? or anyother rom for that matter.
i assume that i boot into recovery mode and clear everything and install from sdcard and look for the zip of the rom? im not sure if thats how to do it? if not can you explain to me how?

That's exactly right. Remember to wipe data in cwm. Use titanium backup to back up any 3rd party apps and data you need first.

do you have a link to where i can download the rom?
All ROMs are in the development subforum:

alright thanks man hopefully everything goes well.
i download the mtd one right ? since i have cyanogenmod 10
alright just to be clear
1st i download the peoples rom on my pc and transfer it to the sd card.
then 2nd I boot into recovery and click on backup ? correct
3rd after that is done i wipe data and factory reset?
4th I wipe cache partition
5th go to advanced menu and wipe dalvik cache?
6th install zip from sd card and look for the peoples rom and install that right?
this would be how to install the peoples rom if i have cyanogenmod 10?

Boot into recovery, go to backup and restore, press restore, press on the backup you just made (the name will be the date). And press restorre... once you boot into recovery, its pretty self-explanitory from there on out...

I had this issue back when I had my original Evo. I just flashed it back to a stock rooted Sense ROM and it worked. If it is a stock TW ROM (The Peoples Rom is), then all Sprint codes will work.
OK, so I went into TWRP 2.6.0.0 and tried to flash CM 10.2. It came up with an error so I restored using the backup I had made, and after the restore it told me that root permissions had been lost, and asked if I wanted to fix it. I swiped to rix root permissions, and now it doesn't seem to be able to boot up.
It gets through the boot animation fine, bu gets stuck on the final screen where it flashes SAMSUNG across the screen. I can boot back into TWRP and have tried wiping data and starting fresh, installing a different ROM, everything I can to try to get it to start fresh, but the phone always gets stuck at the same screen flashing SAMSUNG.
Any ideas of what I should do to remedy this problem??

Start fresh again but this time in TWRP goto wipe/system that will rid all old rom files which sounds like your issue, worth a shot

Hopefully I can get a fast response here, I did that, but got a warning "No OS installed" before rebooting. Is that just telling me no ROM installed or does that literally mean that there is not an OS on the phone anymore? The second option seems unlikely but I don't want to risk it and mess things up even further.

well after you wipe everything including system you need to install a rom. IF your NOT currently OTA updated to 4.3 use billard's zip:::::
[ROM/RESTORE][!MD4 OTA!](5-10)Quick Return to UNROOTED STOCK WITH FLASH COUNT RESET
Wipe everything :/system
Flash billards zip
Flash root.zip to keep root
Flash recovery zip to keep custom recovery
reboot

OK, I'll try to find a ROM to install really quickly just in case, but the problem comes in somehow I get an error on every single ROM I try to install, still don't know the issue, as I have installed many ROMs on my One without issue (this is my mom's S3, she just wants tethering to be a native feature on her phone.)

If that's the case, I'd recommend this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549136 I installed the SPHL710_ALLINONE_MK3_ODEX_12-04-2013_1030pm.zip which includes the latest stock 4.3 without all the KNOX stuff and with native tethering.
It also wipes the system partition for you.
Good luck!!

Shouldnt be getting any errors installing/switching roms if your wiping correctly, If native tether is all your after then most if not all custom roms come with it enabled or you can keep stock rom and just flash the hotspot mod [MOD][Deodex][Odex][MB1][MC3][MD4][MK3]Hotspot Mod - Working 4G

I'm just as confused as anyone as to why I'm getting errors. The phone has proper root access and is running on TWRP, the same recovery I use on my One, and I have done at least 50-60 flashes of ROMs on that phone, without issue. I keep getting virtually the same error, something wrong with executing the updater binary in zip.

The ALLINONE worked! Thank you so much for the help guys! I appreciate it!
Hello!
I recently got a Note 2 (GT-N7105)
And for some silly reason wich even disappoints myself i wanted to overclock , well that didn't make sense i know but however i did it! and directly after i installed the required file (I don't remember wich one but it was for 1.8Ghz) after the installing my phone kept showing the boot logo , i tried to use my backup but even after restoring it didnt boot! I cleaned everything wich also cleaned my backup...
I been on it for about 7 hours now trying different roms , kernels , and every file i could find but nothing helps.
I now installed Cyanogenmod using CMW but even that bootloops.
The last thing i could notice is CMW showing me a E: failed to Mount /efs (Invalid argument) Wich makes me worry even more...
I honestly hope there are some good peaple who could help me with this... Finally got a great phone and by stupid mistakes i made it won't work anymore..
I don't care what rom gets on it , Even if its a hello kitty rom u won't hear me complain , If the phone works again i'll be happy!
Not sure if this helps but its a GT-N7105 , i know it had the newest android there was (4. something, i think it was 4.3)
Odin does see the device , My CMW (6.0.4.1) works and Download Mode works.
I hope anybody can help me!
In case you want to help me live wich would be awesome my skype is : chrishendriks92
If it gets fixed i will Offcourse place the solution here.
(The note is not a new one , its used and a few months old , worked 100% before my stupid decisions bricked it)
(so here's a small version)
-Every rom i tried will bootloop , It shows a different boot video/logo everytime tho
-It all happened after i tried a 2.8Ghz Overclock
-i get a EFS error in CMW
-Accidentily i deleted my backup but i don't mind whatever rom gets on it
-Download mode and CMW (6.0.4.1) works

I would wipe data through CWM.
Download official ROM from sammobile.com and flash it through Odin.
I hope this will help to get the phone booted.
After that we will worry about imei recovery.

At first I encountered unfortunately systemui has stopped, done rooting and fixing permission but still no luck.
One more thing, I already flashed pit file.

So I use to be familiar with flashing, unlocking, & rooting my Droid 2 Global, & my Nexus 7. And while I did successfully temp-root my note 4 a while ago, I have since fallen out of the whole procedure and have a plain old stock 'n locked note 4 that I would like to Flash EmotionOS on it.
I remember bits and pieces, but not the correct order and how exactly I flash a ROM to my note 4, would anyone be able to give me a few pointers on what order I need to do what in, and possibly what the best method(s) would be so that I can flash EmotionOS onto my note 4?
I am using this XDA guide as my current reference for EmotionOS
Thank you in advance

First, you'll need to root your device on stock 5.1.1 BPA1, this guide is fairly easy to follow. Then you'll need to upgrade to 6.0.1 CPD1 and root that too, using this guide. Then you'll need to flash the partial CPJ2 firmware also found here, before you can then flash EmotionOS.
Rooting the note 4 is a lot more work. I loved my note 3 and being able to do it with an app. "Towelroot" it made life so simple. Lol.

Nope, I'm not signing up for issues. The first page talks of re boots, no SMS service, no phone service I'll stick with the sure thing my phone is working I'll be at sometimes laggy but that's probably an overload issue with my apps

That's exactly what you need to do, it's tedious, I know, but very worth it
ok, so I was able to load 5.1.1, root w/KingoRoot, enable dev mode, install TWRP 3.0.2, & reload 5.1.1, but now I'm stuck in a bootloop.
when I first loaded 5.1.1 stock w/o TWRP, I was able to get out of the bootloop by wiping the system and cache and it loaded fine, but now when I try to wipe the cache with TWRP it gets stuck in the bootloop.
How do I get out of the loop with TWRP?

Pull the battery and SD card, wait for like 30 seconds, then put only the battery back in. Boot into TWRP, pop the SD card back in, use the Advanced Wipe to wipe the SD card and cache, then reboot. If you don't want to wipe your SD, then don't put it back in.

Follow this guide, beginning at Phase 4.
okay, I think I may have lost root after the 5.1.1 reload, in that case I'll start over.
Is there a simple way to get the recovery.tar file so I can remove TWRP, or is there an alternative method without having to remove TWRP?

Flashing the systemonlyN910V-5.1.1.tar should help you keep TWRP.

well currently TWRP is what is preventing me from booting the phone, I didnt know if there was an alternate method to "re-doing" the guide without having to start from the very beginning. So long as I have TWRP installed, I can't seem to progress past the second bootloop.
Also Kies 3 is telling me it no longer supports the note 4 because of SmartSwitch (which is not currently installed on my PC) being capable of managing my note 4 now. Not really a huge deal now that I'm downloading the stock 5.1.1 from SamMobile, but that notice struck me as odd that Kies wont touch my note 4, even before all this happened.

TWRP doesn't format the sd properly. Pull the sd and do a diskpart on windows to clean it

I dont have anything special on my SD card currently, would it be okay to just pull the SD for the whole process?

No, you need a sd in for the bootloader unlock process. Wipe it, unlock, wipe it, unlock. And wipe it with diskpart. TWRP doesn't properly wipe the card, and will result in a bootloop.
So after multiple attempts and flashes trying to get past bootlooping at the same point, I'm going to take a break from installing emotionOS for a bit, mainly because I havent been able to use wifi now for some reason. at this point im more concerned about getting wifi back.
I've tried flashing numerous times to 5.1.1, factory reset and wiping cache, and after I get my phone back to normal, I try turning on WiFi in the settings and it stalls, it waits for about 5 minutes and then shuts back off, never actually enabling wifi. Please Advise?
Hi guys..!
I'm wondering if this thread is to help about my issue. Please, let me talk about it: I have a samsung note4 sm-n910v in soft brick condition (I think), and was trying to flash it with Odin by 3 different ways: 1- flashing stock firmware 5.0.1 (N910VVRU2BOF1_N910VVZW2BOF1_N910VVRU2BOF1_HOME.tar), 2- flashing with factory binary file (COMBINATION_VZW_FA44_N910VVRU2APB1_VZW2APB1_2932719_REV00_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT.tar), and 3- flashing with partial firmware (N910VVRU2BOF1_PartialFirmware.tar). For by 3 ways, my phone is stuck (I can not access to call or text messages). If needs more details, please, let me know. Please, could anybody help me? I'm stuck in explained situation.
