Hi
I don't have this in my settings menu. See attached screenshot. Any idea?
I'm on at-t. I don't have that either. No idea why it was removed. Hopefully someone will come up with a way to add these menu features back in

I'm running the latest AT&T PH1 firmware and I have content scaling available. Make sure power saving mode is turned off, as the phone will scale to 1080p to save battery life and may not show the option while in power saving mode.
I see content scaling but not the ability to scale back to 1080. I don't have a screen resolution toggle.

Your edge screen option is also in a different position than on my device. Maybe an update is required to fix it? My always on display wasn't working properly either until I noticed there was an "update now" button buried in the settings menu.
Yep i think you are on an older firmware. Check for SW updates or flash the latest in Odin. My edge screen option is in a different place also.
Your content scaling option is named "screen resolution" which is basicallg the same exact thing
I'm on T-Mobile and couldn't find it in the settings either but here's how I got it. Open settings, in the top right you will see "search", click on that and type in "scaling", hit the search icon on the keyboard and content scaling will come up. Tap it and adjust the settings.
Screen resolution isn't the same as content scaling.

Pretty much gives it the same effect. Lower resolution = bigger icons and less screen real estate. Scaling to "large" does the same

.
You can change the resolution by going into power saving menu and create a custom one. Just de-select all of the throttling options and brightness options and only adjust the FHD option.

Yes, but is there any other way, maybe through tasker or a hidden menu option?
Doing it this way leaves the ugly powersaving icon on your notification bar full time.

Yeah, that's true. I couldn't figure out any other way on the Verizon model though. Maybe when the unlocked firmware rolls out we can add back some of the removed features.
Yeah, I really want to be able to do this in Tasker. Plus one of the others, where you can lock the highest brightness in auto settings.
I'd add it to my "night mode" script.
the icon is annoying. I'll live with it if I have to but I'd rather have the space for something more important.

I don't have it either, though in the initial setup the device actually did ask about content scaling. There was an option for either large or standard.
I rn remember setting it up the first time also. I think the my recent software update removed it

Although it says in Settings > Personalize "Choose... lock screen wallpaper", there is no way to actually change the image. On earlier versions of HTC Sense for Android you could have a different picture on the lock screen and as a wallpaper, but not now. Another backward step or am I missing something?
I saw it also, the information is still in the user manual by the way, but not possible.
Is there a way to have the weather widget on lockscreen?
Thanks for your help
Nothing on my menus for lock screen...would be nice but tbh I'm not that fussed
I want to be able to change it too. I rather liked that feature on my Hero

I downloaded LockBotPro... its a good app an there's a decent amount of customization you can do to the lock screen... add your own wallpaper, lock slider & sound effect but shame its not compatibile with the AndWobble app, that would of made it a thousand times better
Is it possible to have live/animated lock screen themes with LockBotPro?

Not sure, but i would hardly imagine anyone having a go at it, people are trying to run away from live wallpapers to save up some battery life
This feature worked for me, and was present in the settings menu. ALthough I noticed at some point that my lockscreen image was not what I set it to, and the menu option was not there anymore......
I went back expecting the menu option to be there but it wasn't. Wonder whats going on. The feature was there and it worked for me...
I have a n00b-like question, and I am ashamed.
In apps, for many of the current roms, there is a "Power Control Widgets Config" app.
WTF does it do?
I would have thought that it would change settings in the "Power Control" android widget, but it does Nothing for me...
Or perhaps in the notifications dropdown settings? Nope, not there either.
I've never seen it do a damn thing.
What critical piece of obvious information am I missing?
Flame away.

I think it may actually be a widget. I haven't seen it in a rom, but it could be. Try long pressing it on a home screeen and see if anything happens.

That app works for me. It is to configure certain settings in the notification toggle Widgets. I use it to set the sound to do silent/vibrate/sound. I also set the flashlight to normal with that, and also the brightness settings.

Ah! Indeed sir, you are correct.
Since my dropdown does not have the brightness toggle, I did not make the connection. But since I was able to change the toggle color, I can see that this does indeed config that feature.
Is this a scenario where I have to be editing some .txt file to change the toggles?

Yes, exactly. If you wanted to use the brightness toggle, or any toggle, you'd need to edit the widget.txt file (if you're on sense). If you add the brightness.toggle, and the flashlight toggle, then the app will configure how those toggles act for you.

Is there an app that allows direct access to one of the developer options so I can easily toggle it? I'm running stock, unrooted.
Here's the issue: Just upgraded to 4.3, and there's a bug that resets the Transition Animation Scale back to 1x whenever you run the Camera app. Right now I have to do Settings > More > Developer Options > scroll down to Transition Animation Scale > set to None > exit. PIA every time I use the Camera.
What I'd like is to have a script that runs the Camera app and then on exit automatically resets the animation option. Short of that I'd settle for a direct link to the option setting.
Any help appreciated.

Good thought. I am actually using Nova. Just looked through all the available Activity links but don't see direct access to the specific option I need to toggle.
I've also installed the Developer Options app, which does allow one click access to the Dev Options, so that's better than drilling down through Settings, etc.
Having a S6 Edge since its launch I decided to take advantage of the edge screen with all the existing notification packs I developed for my apps (3C Toolbox and co).
This allows displaying all kind of battery and system information on the edge screen optionally with a graph, including battery mA, mV, %, temperature, CPU temperature, load, frequency as well as memory and network loads.
1- Download the main app
To take advantage of those, you will need to install one of the following apps:
- 3C Toolbox to display any information
- System Tuner to display only system information
- Battery Monitor Widget to display battery information
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=3c
2- Download individual packs
Then, you will have to download the individual pack (from app settings, notifications, notifications packs).
3- Activate individual packs
Simply go to Samsung edge screen feed configuration and enable the desired feed.
4 - Configure packs to your liking
Each pack can be configured to display a graph or not, graphic colors and its background are configurable as well.
Some system packs allows settings special alert too based on thresholds.
You can also choose whether to show the information in the notification area, with or without the icon in the status bar, or only in the edge screen.
You can find attached a few samples of how it will look like.
If you have special queries or any issues, please let me know here.
Awesome!!!
Looks very cool, just bought the 3c toolbox app, so many configurations(Which is great)
Whenever i check the "Only edge-screen feed" checkbox it's only applied for that 1 notification, i think it'd be better if it was applied to the same button under all notifications.

That's a little tricky as packs do not share their settings.
However, if you have received udpate 1.3.5 of the toolbox, you can simply go to the edge screen feeds configuration and add the feeds there. If the selected feeds are not in the toolbox config, those will be directly added as 'feed-only', which avoids having to select that particular option.

I see now that i wrote that poorly. I meant the checkbox that comes up after i check "Only edge-screeen feed".
The checkbox that explains "Don't forget to enable feed in Samsung edge screen configuration". When i check "Do not ask again", it only remember not to ask for this specific notification, whereas it would be better if it didn't explain when you check "Only edge-screen feed" for all packages. But it's no big deal just a very minor inconvenience, and would be avoided with the method you explained. great application, works very well!

Thanks. Actually swiping will require a custom kernel/ROM feature for that. The API for feeds is very limited: update them is all I can do about it, everything else is controlled by the OS.

It's currently set at the top of the screen so that if you enable the historical graph it will on top of it. I'll have to customize the display to center the text when no graph is displayed. Will do so soon.

All packs have been updated to position the text closer to the actual edge of the screen. You can update them from the download section, already installed packs will have a circle arrow you can tap to update them.
