Just a quick question does fast charging work on custom roms like cm etc please. Would want to try them out but haven't used custom cm based roms for a while.
Yes most if not all custom roms now support fast charging.
Yup almost all ROMS and kernels out there for the OP3 now support dash charging examples are

Click to collapse
None the AOSP rom's have bloats, they are all based on pure google experience ,only thing they bring forward is the the various tweaks. No one can tell you which rom is most stable cause everyone uses their phone differently,so best to try few aosp roms available and see what works best for you, same goes for kernel ,try devil or agni and see which works for your phone
I get my z1 compact tomorrow and I am looking for suggestions for a new ROM as I am coming from an s4 any good ones about?
Try CyanogenMod Original, it has everything you need
I would prefer CM11 over CM12.
Last nightly of CM11: http://forum.xda-developers.com/son.../cm11-nightly-available-anymore-help-t3014226
CM12 ist in Beta still... not every CM function is implemented yet. And it's not as stable as CM11... i would wait at least for M3 before using CM12.
You have to decide if you want a stock based ROM (Xperia feeling) or a full custom ROM (AOSP, CM, etc).
Apart from that, there is no "beginner" ROM whatsoever. It always depends on which features you want, how important battery life is and so on.
Just check the threads of the ROMs look at the features and screenshots and read what users say about it and then make your choice.
You can always backup your stock Android and try them out.
As far as I know, using custom ROM (that means any ROM not based on stock ROM) means worse camera performance and loss of other hardware related features as bravia engine and xloud. The last two do not seem that important, but the deterioration of camera performance is the main reason I do not use a custom ROM.
By the way, the ROM of my signature is perfect.
So I've tried all the ROMs, I've tried Stock (When I first got the phone) I then tried CM12.1, then FlexOS, then back to CM, then BlissPop, then back to CM, then Cloudy's ROM, then Back to c-... you get the idea.
I looked in to trying to compile my own kernel, because frankly there isn't an updated d855 CM12.1 kernel to be seen anywhere that has features to make CM the least bit smooth and I decided that with my coursework becoming a bigger part of my life that I would simply have no time to put in the work (Or the knowledge).
So what I'm asking is simple, can someone please compile a custom kernel for cm12.1? I love this ROM, the lack of customization features is a feature in itself for me considering I love AOSP, CM is perfect for my usage but I just need a custom kernel so that it can be complimented and optimized for the G3, thanks.
Hi everyone, i have t705 here, installed the selamba rom, which is based on official marshmallow, just tweaked, and rooted. Previously, i used the CM13 for t705.
My CM life was twice better, and more customizable, in terms of Kernel... But the sound level was bad for me, also the GPS. So I decided to try the stock, which IS fully working.
My question, if i want to install the customizable kernel of CM13 using this stock-based ROM, will my tab able to boot properly, and still having the working GPS and proper sound configuration?
Thanks a lot
Sadly no mm custom kernel if you want one down load code and build one.
Hello friends. I am on MIUI 10.2 . I just want to ask if it is better to change to a custom rom? or there are no much differences between stock rom and custom roms?
If you prefer switching to custom roms, just give your reasons, and if you prefer stock rom, mention why stock rom is better
I would also like to know the answer. Currently I'm on Masik 1.5, but its becoming a little bit sluggish. I want to know if custom roms have full screen gestures like in MIUI and if the camera quality is compared to stock.
Are you from the future? There is no MIUI 10.2 ?
So far the best ROM is stock one. Custom have lots of problems and bugs. You wont find any perfect custom rom. There wil bel always some problems.
I've tried Pie ROMs, for now MIUI is enough, pretty stable and with a lot of features, our device is supported from Xiaomi, maybe a custom ROM will be a good idea after 1/2 years (in my opinion)
