Hi everyone, i have t705 here, installed the selamba rom, which is based on official marshmallow, just tweaked, and rooted. Previously, i used the CM13 for t705.
My CM life was twice better, and more customizable, in terms of Kernel... But the sound level was bad for me, also the GPS. So I decided to try the stock, which IS fully working.
My question, if i want to install the customizable kernel of CM13 using this stock-based ROM, will my tab able to boot properly, and still having the working GPS and proper sound configuration?
Thanks a lot
Sadly no mm custom kernel if you want one down load code and build one.

I get my z1 compact tomorrow and I am looking for suggestions for a new ROM as I am coming from an s4 any good ones about?
Try CyanogenMod Original, it has everything you need
I would prefer CM11 over CM12.
Last nightly of CM11: http://forum.xda-developers.com/son.../cm11-nightly-available-anymore-help-t3014226
CM12 ist in Beta still... not every CM function is implemented yet. And it's not as stable as CM11... i would wait at least for M3 before using CM12.
You have to decide if you want a stock based ROM (Xperia feeling) or a full custom ROM (AOSP, CM, etc).
Apart from that, there is no "beginner" ROM whatsoever. It always depends on which features you want, how important battery life is and so on.
Just check the threads of the ROMs look at the features and screenshots and read what users say about it and then make your choice.
You can always backup your stock Android and try them out.
As far as I know, using custom ROM (that means any ROM not based on stock ROM) means worse camera performance and loss of other hardware related features as bravia engine and xloud. The last two do not seem that important, but the deterioration of camera performance is the main reason I do not use a custom ROM.
By the way, the ROM of my signature is perfect.
So I've tried all the ROMs, I've tried Stock (When I first got the phone) I then tried CM12.1, then FlexOS, then back to CM, then BlissPop, then back to CM, then Cloudy's ROM, then Back to c-... you get the idea.
I looked in to trying to compile my own kernel, because frankly there isn't an updated d855 CM12.1 kernel to be seen anywhere that has features to make CM the least bit smooth and I decided that with my coursework becoming a bigger part of my life that I would simply have no time to put in the work (Or the knowledge).
So what I'm asking is simple, can someone please compile a custom kernel for cm12.1? I love this ROM, the lack of customization features is a feature in itself for me considering I love AOSP, CM is perfect for my usage but I just need a custom kernel so that it can be complimented and optimized for the G3, thanks.
I've flashed a lot of Roms but can't seem to find one giving good battery life. Yes, my battery is fine I checked. Any recommendations on which ROM to use guys? Phone is rooted right now on RR ROM and I know what greenify is with Xposed features.
(KitKat to the test cm14.1)-pick a ROM
Cyanogenmod 13. Not perfect, but the best you can IMO.
Hi guys!
I have an intresting problem. When I switch my stock rom to another rom on d855, (CrDroid, Fulmics OS, AICP, Tekcafe, etc.) I get so much lag on the home screen. What's the problem? I tried switching kernel, radio and modem, but nothing work. But LOS and RR worked pretty fine. I rooted with king root, and installed the twrp with autorec.
Try Cloudy that works on most
Quite possible that's it's due to the ROM itself, especially considering you have good performance on stock. Fulmics is basically stock with additions, theoretically you should be getting about the same performance but maybe there is something added that is slowing things down.
On the contrary side, I actually notice a great performance drop on stock or stock based ROMs as opposed to an AOSP based one, like LineageOS.
LineageOS is my daily driver with great performance on the ROM.
I'm currently using an S3 as a daily since a friend of mine generously donated his so I can install ROMS.
I'm having heating and performance issues, and I can't find the right ROM to install to this device.
I'm currently using LineageOS (7.1.2) and it's not stable at all. There's too much bugs and lag.
Anyone got cool 7.1.2 stable ROMS that I can install on this device?
I would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
The most stable ROM is going to be a stock unrooted ROM.

That's not what I meant.. The only reason why I'm using a custom ROM is because the apps I use don't support the stock ROM.

Make sure you turn off Adaptive display and LiveDisplay. This should give your phone a massive speed boost as it did for mine. It`s the first thing I do whenever I flash Lineage OS on any device.
However many Galaxy S3 T-999 has been plagued by another problem for some months. Whenever I flashed any custom ROM (I have tried CM 13, CM 14/Linage OS, Mokee), The phone`s goes on mute mode. It makes no sound whatsoever. But it works fine on stock 4.3 but like you said many apps don`t support it anymore.
