Can Note7 Read NTFS Format? - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Using the supplied usb adapter, can the phone read flash drives or external hard drives in NTFS format? Or does the phone only support FAT32?

Will read fat32 and exFAT. You will need some sort of software to be able to read ntfs.

Micro-SD on NTFS ?

I do have a question (a dumb question some might say) about the micro-sd support on TP2. Can the TP2 support NTFS formatted micro-sd ?
Sorry,
It will not be able to read NTFS formatted SD card.
John
You might want to take a look at the exFAT update for Windows XP

It won't read exFAT either.

Thanks for the heads up.
I haven't tried exFAT on my microSD card yet (it isn't big enough to warrant its use) but it works very well with the hard drive on my digital broadcast decoder/recorder

Mount SD card with NTFS

This is just a reminder for people who would like to format their SD cards with NTFS etc. I posted this earlier in the year for my P6800, but it is still valid for my N7100. It is also useful for external USB drives (the 2Tb with external power, etc.)

Please hit THANKS if this helps anyone in the dark.
Just to confirm that my 2TB external hard drive was mounted instantly under /storage/UsbDriveA.
tested HD and avi - both play using MX Player and other Video players.

I think that CWM is not advanced as to mount NTFS yet - I think you need to partition your SD to both (ex)FAT for, say 4Gigs and the rest for NTFS. This way you get the best of both worlds. Using a 16Gig or 32Gig SD is probably better to do this.
I am not quite sure if Aroma or the toolkit by mskip http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923956 read NTFS(?)

[Q] ntfs formating

I'm after any advice or guides please. I want to change my 64gb sd card from exfat to ntfs, I am using directory bind and have a file over 4gb so fat32 is out of the question. If I back up my sd card to my laptop then format it ntfs can I then just restore it and use Paragon? or is it a bit more complicated than that. My main concern is making sure directory bind still works. As I said any advice or guides would be greatly appreciated

I'm not 100% sure ntfs works on the android but if it does then take the card out and put it in a card reader and format the card like a USB thumb drive. Google thumb drive ntfs formatting, there would be allot more guides on that.
I think paragon mounts ntfs on boot I just haven't tried it yet. There is a patch that works on aosp based roms but not tw for exfat on fat32 based kernels which is why I was thinking ntfs

I have paragon installed on my phone and I'm using a ntfs formated card, so I believe u won't face any issues.
From the middle of nowhere to the center of everywhere!!
Is paragon require any additional kernel? Is it work with CWM recovery?

Mount usb drive in twrp not possible?

Hey. I tried to mount my usb drive (is it usb stick in english too?) In twrp to make a backup. I don't have a sd card right now. But if i go to mount and tap on otg nothing happens.
So what do i have to do to make it work?
Sry for my english
Is your usb stick formated as NTFS? I don't think TWRP supports NTFS. You'd have to reformat the usb stick as FAT32 or maybe exFAT. Not sure what TWRP supports
Same problem here
Mine is FAT32
I don't know how my one is formated. I'll have a look at it later
