Hello Everyone! I bought a camera (logitech c270) compatible with nVidia Shield. It is compatible, works well on most application (i installed for example Google Camera, IPCAMERA, Warden cam) but when i try to use it with skype, it does not works. Skype do not recognize the camera. I wonder if there is a modded skype APK to use compatible cameras for video callings. Or maybe an old stable version wich lets me do video callings.
Maybe porting from another device ?
I know i could upgrade to Full android but Gamepad is no longer working with wireless and i do not want to lose gwarranty.
Well, just yesterday I bought the C920 for testing. I'm on 3.3 software, rooted. Sideloaded Skype v7.24.0.255 (Just today in apkmirror released the v7.25.0.308, so...). My results:
- Voice only calls work great, the mic on the controller works! I can see the other person on my TV and audio in and out work really well
- The webcam it's detected by Skype and works. Video works great, but for some reason none of the mics works (Controller and webcam mic). I can hear the other person but no audio from my side
Tellybean by the other side works as intended. A lot of audio lag but works.

Anyone has Skype installed on HD? I installed the version at official website and it didn't work.
use FRING: you can manage Skype, MSN messenger and many similar apps all in one software and all at the same time.
I installed Skype on my Touch HD today from the Skype website. I used the 2.5 Beta version for Pocket PC (installed to my computer and used ActiveSync to install to internal memory of my HD). I've seen posts where people have been saying they've had issues, but (so far) Skype is working on my HD.
Skype works flawlessly on the HD.
I tested skype from my HD to another HD with skype and the results where
really awesome.. so little lag you dont even notice (we both used Wifi)
To Op: make sure you download for ppc and not smartphone.
I downloaded the PPC version, and try it again but still not working, maybe my HD is chinese version?
echoooooo
I used Skype and just like when i use it at home i get the echo sound and a repeating of dialog

Skype 2.5 didn't work on my HD either (crashed as soon as I tried to call someone), but the earlier 2.2.0.38 works.
Unfortunately I cannot seem to attach it to my post, but maybe you can find it somewhere on the web.
i tried once and the install didn't complete properly, the second time it just ran ok and have no issues with it. They should somewhat fix the interface tho and make it a little more fingerfriendly. support for camera would rule also.
on my Hd works but only if use WiFi, doesn't work via ActiveSync
i have installesd the mobile version from the website and it works fine. No problems at all with it. camera does not work with it but other than that it works fine.
I downloaded the current version from the web site and it works fine on wifi. Does not want to work over activesync (but then why would I want to bother, when I'm using the PC I just use Skype on the PC).
I have not yet tried Skype on the HD with bluetooth - next thing to try ...
I use Nimbuzz.
http://www.nimbuzz.com/en/mobile/mobile/
The new version supports WVGA an can manage a lot of providers like skype, icq, google, StudiVZ (german), yahoo, msn, ... in just one program. I love it

I didn't see the touch HD version listed there....which should I download?
Hey guys, I have Skype 2.5 working nicely except for one thing...
The sound comes out of the REAR speaker instead of the front
I think I may have seen someone mention it before in another thread but couldn't find it again.
Any fixes? Cheers
I am using skype on my HD and it works like clock and it looks really pretty as well...
It works both over wifi and over t-mobile internet connection...
cheers
Haha lucky you - sadly I still have this annoying problem
That's cool man, are you using a stock Touch HD or a particular ROM?
I have Skyp on my HD, it works well over both WiFi & my 3G connection, although as said, the voice comes over the rear speaker
After a bit of digging, a guy from Skype says HTC haven't shared something that would enable them to use the front speaker perfectly, without hacking which he says would cause too many support issues. Nevertheless here's the thread, worth a read..

His suggestion is to install this app called AudioRoute..
http://teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware
.. and I just checked to see if it works, and it does.
So before launching Skype we will have to launch this little program and it puts a small square on your Home screen. After pressing it you get the options of Front, Rear, Speakerphone ON and Exit. Pressing Front and then making a call with Skype has the desired effect.
It is good enough for me until hopefully Skype come up with something
Working with Skype for WM 3.0 on my HD and found no bugs. Everything goes well. WiFi or Edge or 3G all without problems. SMS now included and the most improvement. My provider offered a cheap 3G flatrate but the SMS are very expensive. Without me thanks to skype!
Interesting to see my Skype shows copyright for 2.5 but under version it's 3.0.0.100 to found. Seems they found no time to change the copyright up to today
P.S. The front speaker is active without any additional app. In fact there are front and rear active, allways.
I had a thought, would it be possible to create an app that acts as Bluetooth headphones (for instance something like jabra bt3030) , then we could have wireless speakers
Can anyone confirm that the BT hardware/software in DHD is capable of this? Wouldnt it be using a2dp anyway?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
surely somebody has an opinion on this?
All i know is the bluetooth is shockingly bad on a stock dhd (official 2.2 & then 2.2.1)
A lot of devices aren't supported, & what does work is intermittent when trying to connect.
I've resorted to rooting & flashing roms this week, currently using CM7 RC2. I'll let you know how it goes. (Did initially to try & get my bt keyboard to work, but now enjoying the whole rooting, rom-ing thing).
CM7 RC2 has bt keyboard support ) (think outside igo stowaway)
No need for any 3rd party apps either.
Now to try my Nokia bt car kit (which also never worked on 2.2 & 2.2.1)
Back to your original post...
I don't see why it couldn't be done (i have bt stereo headphones that did work on 2.2 & 2.2.1), question is why would you want it? (you can stream to your phone via wifi from your pc or whatever (app), or stream off the internet (spotify)... or whatever.
Most use their phones to actually store their music anyhow.

It would be for late at night, when I'm watching something on tv, but my fans pretty loud, so to hear the tv, i have to turn it up pretty louds so that only causes complaints
This would allow me to plug in headphones into my phone, and stream the audio from my PC to (pretty much) anywhere upstairs, without carrying the bluetooth bit around as well - bloody hell i'm lazy lol. Saying that the other advantage would be when the jabra would run out of battery, you need to recharge it before you can use it (it doesn't turn on whilst charging), whereas a phone would be fine with that.
it would be good though, i just like to see the dhd doing things absurd but cool
Did a quick search and didn't come up with anything but..
Is there a video chat app that allows users to use Bluetooth headsets? Is there one in the works?
I find it very inconvenient that the whole world needs to be involved in my video chat sessions.. Bluetooth would provide the much needed wireless solution to conversation privacy..
I have used plug in (3mm) headsets, but only tango allows the use of one and I find the cord quite annoying..

if your using an Froyo rom then you can use SuperMonoFroyo there is a lite version on the market that will let you test it out. but it routes all audio to a Bluetooth headset i have tested this on tango and it worked good on the stock app but have not got around to testing it on my gingerbread rom yet. Hopefully that will help you out
I'm thinking of upgrading to this phone, one of the main reasons is that my current device, which has galaxy S guts, is not compatible with most bluetooth devices. I like to use an app called blueputdroid that turns my phone into a universal keyboard as well as an ELM bluetooth device that turns my phone into a dyno along with the torque app for my car.
For some reason the way samsung built the bluetooth makes it not work with a lot of these things, I know it's not the apps or 3rd party devices as I use my old G1 now for it, but would much rather just have my main phone be my one device.
Have any of you tested blueputdroid or any bluetooth devices? If not could someone try out blueputdroid with this phone (it's free in the market) any help would be much appreciated thanx!!
Says it has detected unsupported Bluetooth stack.. Install cyanogen Rom, etc.
Thanks, at least this phone is likely to get cyanogenmod support which will fix the problem my SK sure as hell won't
My GS2 works perfect with my ELM adapter. It worked perfect with my Vibrant too. I've never had a single problem with any bluetooth device on either of them.
I've had a lot of bluetooth problems with both my vibrant and now my GS2. Both work reliably with my wife's mini cooper bluetooth but they both have had problems connecting to the garmin nuvi I use for handsfree in my car (and forget about the A2DP on it).
I tried a lot of roms on my vibrant (incl stock) and they did lots of cool stuff but never made the BT connect reliably. Then I came across this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795691
I made the suggested change to /system/etc/bluetooth/audio.conf and voila! I finally have good BT with my vibrant.
So I got my SG2 last week, rooted it and found that it also had the bad settings in /system/etc/bluetooth/audio.conf. However it also lacked BLN (backlight notification) and few other tweaks I've come to love on my vibrant so I flashed juggernaut 2.6. That fixed all the major foibles with the SG2 but it still won't reliably connect to my garmin.
I opened up the filesystem to find that /system/etc/bluetooth/audio.conf is no longer there! Does anyone know where it went?
Apparently I don't have enough posts to ask in the dev forum where juggernaut was posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322642 so I'm hoping someone will see this plee for help.
thanks
the phone has BT 3.0, but it is backward compatible with BT 2.0 and 1.0 devices
i haven't had any trouble using it with my car deck (streaming audio & phone), my large collection of stereo BT devices, and other BT enabled phones & PCs/Laptops
the remote control feature from the stereo headsets works properly, for fast forward, backward, play, pause, talk, mute, etc
the only thing i have yet need to test BT on is with a BT smart wrist watch
Hello.
I have a Nextbit Robin and have never been able to get the bluetooth functionality working with wireless headphones, keyboards, bluetooth speakers, mice). Does anyone with the new Beta Nougat update know if this functionality is working now? Or if anyone has the update, can you give it a try and let us know? Thank you so much for any help.
Cheers.
Self Update on Nougat...Just installed Nougat 7.0 and I can confirm bluetooth mouse functionality is working PERFECTLY!!! (tried a microsoft Wedge and a logitech mini). Don't have a Keyboard or Bluetooth headphones/speakers but will update when I get back from my trip. If anyone has any updates, please post. Good stuff!!
Self update2: Moga bluetooth controller works perfect with Robin/Nougat after not having worked on the last build. Tranlation: Super Mario World, Contra and Zelda while sitting on a subway to the Bronx. Good times. Well done....As an aside, Netflix app no longer downloads offline.
