As the title asks, as the new 5.2.1.1 stops being able to root amazon fire stick i wanted to look at the scripts used by Kingo root on the last fire os and see if there was anyway to modify them.
As Kingo root is all done over the Internet would anyone care to share a way to capture what scripts are being sent?
Im guessing im not the only one who would like to know how and would much appreciate if anyone could help in anyway.
Thanks.

Hey,
All im wondering is if i root using the unrevoked method can i still use App Inventor??
Thanks
I dont see how a rooted phone would affect that?
at the end of the day its a Full working OS, with Super User Permissions,
yea i see what your saying but can anyone confirm this??
First I was suprised I didn't see a Q&A stickied for some of these.
Now considering there are threads with the [ROOT} tag I do assume rooting is possible.
1. Is it possible if I were to buy a new firestick now? (apple and consoles and amazon's fire tablet have different generations or whatever you want to call them, usually with the newer ones being either impossible or nigh impossible to root/jb/mod etc., and that is what I am asking about here)
2. Why would you root it? {I understand rooting is fun and quite useful for my phone but considering how different my usage habits will be on the firestick vs the phone I am wondering if I would actually get use out of it. So I guess what I am morely asking here is what general benefits will I get out of this (ad removal/different tv aps etc.)
3. Has unfortunately been forgotten since I decided to focus on the other 2 and clarify (or try) what I was asking.
Please read everything!
1. Yes you can root the latest Fire TV stick with an app called Kingroot, no recovery system or rom is available "yet", but it is highly possible in the very near future this is gonna happen with thanks from our local Dev in the fire tv forums "rbox", unlocking a bootloader is probably never gonna happen, if you are thinking of doing this I rooted mine with Kingroot 4.1 or I've been told you can also do this with the latest version too (but don't quote me to that), if you do decide to root please think carefully first & if all goes well which it should (fingers crossed), please don't think about using the app Super Sume to swap/replace the Kingroot Su for Chainfires Super Su, a lot of people have bricked there device doing this removal/swap method & failed (you have been warned!)
2. You can modify/custom your system settings (if that floats your boat?), debloat/delete system apps If you wish? Put a working Adblocker on your Fire Stick? You could even put Xposed framework on it too (but I would advice You to only do this once & if the stick gets a working recovery then You can play around adding custom settings & other stuff by adding Modules to Xposed? Add Busybox & add other Rooted apps too? Have more control in general with your Fire Tv Stick.
3. Yes or No or possibly Maybe or Never depending on what question 3 was ment to be? Haha
Just check in the forums here for Kingroot & or look over at AftvNews web site for a guide on installing root via Kingroot on your stick. & if you do root don't forget to block updates to Amazon afterwards, that's also in a guide at AftvNews Web site.
Good luck
Hope this helps & if so press that thanks button
Hey everyone, I am hoping I will finally find an answer on my long search. I am looking for a program that I will be able to control fire tvs for tech support(ie parents and not so tech savy friends) I have tried quick support and airdroid, both need root support for mirror control. I caved and rooted my ver 1 fire tv software 5.0.5 with kingroot. Root was successful, and checked with rootchecker. Allowed root access with both programs but still no dice. I am hoping for an answer on how to remotely access without root but with root would be second best .
Thx for all the help and hopefully I find what I'm looking for.

If unit is running OS5 you can root it with kingroot, as for GP you should not attempt to install it before rbox releases a recovery first.
im on os5.0.5 (537174420) so this is ok for kingroot?
suggest you read all posts you find on subject . Yes you can root, then block updates but DON'T do anything else until advised otherwise.
I know a very little compared to most on here but know when to WAIT.
Oh so I won't be able to enable wallpapers on launchers such as nova and widgets then I guess
So I recently got this Kindle Fire HD 8.9' and wanted to root it for my parents. I'm having trouble finding a definitive guide to rooting it as I'm not that experienced in rooting. I've rooted my other devices, but only with the help of a video+text tutorial. I was wondering is there any good text guide I can follow to root this tablet? Thank you for any help.
P.S. I've seen the threads on how to root, am having trouble following them that's all
