Note 7 music control on the Edge panel - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Just got a Note 7 and am interested in controlling music through the Edge Panel, I had a search on the Samsung/Play stores and didn't find anything useful.
I'm mainly interested in controlling PowerAmp.
Thanks

This one from the S7E works on the N7:

The above has an Edge Feed you can use to control music players without unlocking the phone (swipe the edge back and forth), but it looks clunky, this one works great:

Thanks for the reply.
I tried Edge Panel and it doesn't seem to do anything to Poweramp (theres a few replies in that thread that also says it doesn't work). I'll give MusicPlayer Feed a go, although it seems to be device specific according to the post.

I did have to reboot before it did anything, but it's working with poweramp here. I think the edge panel works better anyway, given poweramp can be controlled from the notification area/lockscreen.

Touch Pro 2 & Kinoma Play - Very Slick

Hi,
I am currently loving my Touch Pro 2 and agree with most people on this forum that it is currently the top Windows Mobile at the moment. I have found TF3D to be highly responsive and fluid but felt a little limited by the lack of customization in terms of the number of program shortcuts it supports. I previously came from the Omnia with Winterface loaded which worked well interms of the amount of shortcuts you could enter. After doing a search on here I have seen that Winterface may cause a problem with TF3D so I didn't want to risk running it.
I recently downloaded an update for Kinoma Play which used to be my primary music player on the Omnia and I have found that it is ideal as both a music player and application launcher. It must have gone through a big facelift recently as I hardly recognized the interface. It works on the same pinciple as Winterface (Iphone rip off) although it's not meant to be a today screen replacement so it works as a nice addon for TF3D. After playing around with it you can have up to 9 home screens that scroll from left to right or up and down with 15 icons on each (135 shortcuts available) as well as a seperate favourites folder.
It has a nice slick interface that currently intergrates Music, an Orb streamer (which I stream all my music over wifi), Photo viewer, Video player (poor codec support), Facebook, Twitter, Last FM, RSS, Mobihand app store and too many others to mention. I thought I would post a Youtube video so you can see how it works on the Touch pro 2 in case anyone was in the same boat as me.

Desire Music Playback

Hi there,
I'm new to these forums and am really interesting in the HTC Desire. Being a user of Sony Walkman phones for the last 4 years music playback is a huge part of my phone usage.
I'm wondering as a device without an equaliser how does this rate compared to other phones for music playback? Is it possible to download third party music playback software?
Otherwise this phone looks perfect, possibly too good to be true at £15 a month on t-mobile!
Hi, check the GSMarena review - sound quality is top notch! (so why would you want to ruin good sound fidelity with an EQ?).
Problems with non-unicode tagging leads to things being seen as "Unknown Genre" by the music player, which is a significant bummer for some (like me).
Theres plenty of third party software, some with EQs.
same boat here.. i have been a Sony walkman user for the last 10 years and sound quality was/is top of my agenda..
the Desire is pretty good i'd have to say.. ok doesnt sound as good as my Sony X series walkman but its unlikely to as thats a dedicated audio/video device.. the nice thing about android is that there's a choice of apps you can use for music playback.. the stock one is fine but a bit boring.. i downloaded 'cubed' last night and its got a pretty neat interface..
i would like an equaliser to be able to add treble/bass etc.. and i've seen it in some players.. but the interfaces are a bit iffy at the moment.. hopefully in time someone will create an all singing all dancing music player..
oh and just keep an eye on the the low volume threads here.. some people have gotten phones that the volume is very low on but mine (unlocked unbranded from carphone warehouse) is plenty loud..
Cheers,
Mick

Cheers for the feedback I'm glad the audio is pretty decent! The idea of using a standard headphone jack is a nice change to the SE phones.
Another question is can you change song without having to whap it out? It may sound strange but when I'm walking to say University, I can currently just hit the rocker switch on the side of the phone to change track - is that the case with the Desire?
Or do I have to bring it out, unlock it, and then change track, relock it, then tidy it away? Hope not!

If you use the bundled HTC headphones, then no. They come with media controls on the wire.
But if you use your own headphones, then yes. You'll have to take the device out, press the standby button to wake the device and skip to the track you want. You don't have to unlock and jump into the music application. There are music controls at the lock screen for back, play/pause, and forward.
Ah of course I forgot about those headphones. Thanks!
Now I just have to wait until January

Haha, January?! Why the wait? Surely by that time, there would be something else available that's more desirable...
You can control tracks/play/pause from the lockscreen.
I have a question to users of the Desire: when you put videos on the device and upload them to the memory card, can you arrange them into a playlist on the device itself to be able to play a series of music videos, without having to select each one, and also to be able to skip tracks, fast forward and shuffle???
Can the built-in music player play a video playlist?
If not, can the video player play a playlist with videos separately from music (and even just play the audio file if the screen is shut off)?
If not still, is there any application - video player - on Android Market that supports video playlists and shuffle, skip and fast forward?
I would not dream of being able to change the playback speed tho, just to be able to play vids right. I'd appreciate any your insights
Meridian is a great music/video player!
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
the speaker isnt so good, though
I'm finding the music via earphones to be a little low. Are there any players with EQ so I could boost it up a bit?
I know people on UK T-Mobile ROM's had an issue with low music volume but I don't think that's the same issue with mine as i'm using the generic ROM.

[App] MX Player

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDMsImNvbS5teHRlY2gudmlkZW9wbGF5ZXIuYWQiXQ..
This has been my default video player for some time now, it plays most video files and the coolest thing about it is that it utilizes gestures for the most common controls. Swiping on the left side of the screen adjusts brightness, swiping along the bottom fast forwards/rewinds and swiping on the right side adjusts volume. It's also got selectable s/w or h/w decoding, among other things. Check it out for yourself and see how you like it.
MX Player totally rocks. I used it exclusively on my last 2 phones. But the windowed playing of the stock Samsung app is just beyond awesome. I'll probably end up not using it. But it was one of the reasons I lusted after this phone. So for now I'm sticking with stock. OP is right though. If you want a different player MX has a LOT going for it.

Need a music app

Hello
Looking for the perfect car app for android based head unit..
I have searched and searched, even tried and tested a good dozen now and the best I have found that suits me is Pi Player buuuut its not perfect because when you browse through folders, it only gives you half the screen, horizonatally at least though, unlike the stock music player which gives you 1/4 of the screen vertically which is awful.
Some apps I have tried take far too long load up, some even have to import all the music from my USB stick every single time I launch the app (Switch the car on, which is terrible)
So what I want:
A Android Music app for my car so needs to run in landscape mode, that has good support of playing from USB storage and has a browse folder feature.. which must have a *good interface for making browsing through all the folders and then individual songs nice and easy*.
Ideally will have some extra features such as auto play on power on, widgets etc.....
Thats the main thing, just want it to obviously load my music instantly like Pi Player does but give me the whole of screen to browse through my folders making it nice and easy within a nice interface
Any recommendations please fire them away

SoundCloud and Shazam.
Poweramp
you can use Xtunes music app. It is good for music downloading as well. Refer this forum page for more details.

I think Xtunes have there official page also i think you can try that also here is the link to them. Xtunes.
I also use Xtunes and IMHO is the best app! :fingers-crossed: In this Website i found a lot of information!
On my phone I enjoy Music Player. It's icon is a black circle with a red ring and a play icon in the center. I guess you can use multiple players and go through each one to determine what works best for you, which has the best appearance, customization options, ease of use, etc.
Music app
Hi, try Pulsar, I’ve been using it on my phone for a while in favour of the stock app which has a crap GUI. This app is basic (what you want on a head unit) free and no adds. It will auto play when connected to BT but you can disable this feature. Change tab items (Albums, Folders etc.) and reorder them. Has big button interface ideal for a head unit.
Poweramp Pro

Any third party app to change functionality of Galaxy Buds

While using Audible I would like to assign left Galaxy Bud single tap to skip back 10 sec. and right Galaxy Bud single tap to skip forward 10sec.
Currently the only customization Galaxy Wearable allows is in regards to press and hold.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Regards
I cannot imagine this being easy..... Are you rooted? have you looked at anything like Tasker?

Not rooted.
Poweramp in it's many settings and options can do this.
I use it to skip tracks with my Galaxy Buds.
Poweramp is a robust, complex to set up and flat out the best music player there is for Android.
Get the paid version. Once configured export/save your settings to the SD card!
It will keep your playlists if your music db remains/ is recreated intact during a OS reload.
