Phone - Speed Dial - how to display - Note 7 Questions & Answers

on the Note 5, speed dial was always visible as 1 of 3 visible columns to choose. now on Note 7, only shows Log & Contacts as 2 columns, and you have to click on the 3 dots to get the speed dials. ?? is there a way to get the speed dials to show as a default ?

Problem w/ Dial Pad

When I click "Phone" it shows the Notification bar on the top, then my service provider (3G T-Mobile NL) along with an arrow pointing left, 3 of my last calls, 1/4 of my first speed dial number and finally the number pad - numbers 7, 8 and 9 are cut off level with the letters by a block of the wall paper background and the TF3D bar on the bottom.
If I minimize the dial pad, I see the last 3 out going calls and first 3 numbers of my speed dial.
When I am in a call, the bottom half of the TF3D screen cuts off everything else - end call, speaker on / off, etc.
How can I fix this?

Please help me fix my number dialing when on Landscape mode...

Hi!
I just noticed that when I try to enter a phone number on landscape mode on my ATT Tilt 2 my current top row of characters are actually printing numbers but the numbers on the right side of the panel are not working correctly.
For example 8 and 0 work fine but 3 also does 8 which means somehow my top row is now all numbers which is not right for this version of the phone...
any ideas?

[Q] Call History add note, memo or even to Splanner

Hello ..
Please check the screenshot below. When I Dial a contact and the call get connected, I gets the option to add a Memo or Splanner Event. (Screen Shot 2 )
I get the same option for a few second when the call ends , which disappears quickly . (Screen Shot 3 ).
1. Is there anyway If i can go to the same screen (screen Shot 3 ) and get the same options from Call history ?
2. or I can go to call log and add a Memo, Note or an event to Splanner ? like perhaps a reminder to call back later on ?
3. or go to Splanner and add events to call history from there ?
Thanks ..

Touching "Favorites" in stock dialer

I am new to HTC 10, went from Nexus 5X. I liked the easy way how to dial the contact from my Favorites in Dialer of Nexus 5X.
1st touch - run Dialer app
2nd touch - touch any contact from Favorites (it calls it directly - as I was able to select default action)
On HTC 10 (latest Android 7.0) I go
1st touch - run Dialer app
2nd touch - touch any contact from Favorites (it just opens the contact information)
3nd touch - touch on the number I want to call - then only it initiates the call
Even when "Set default action" to Call, it only open the contact information. Still one touch more I am able to accept.
Is this just bug of the Dialer?

For me, what you want (quick calls to frequent contacts) is done by assigning speed dial numbers to my frequent contacts. Even faster than what you described on your 5x.
Actually your way is not faster. One normal touch and one long one is not less than two normal touches.

Well if you wanna count milliseconds then also factor in the time it takes your finger to move around and select Favorites, "waiting" for the screen animation to complete and again moving your finger to the contact name and pressing it.
Little offtopic discussion, but ok - how do you show the screen where you can press the number of speed dial? Isn't this another touch?
Anyway, your way is just not the way for me. As it seems stock dialer is just not correct, I replaced it with Pixel one and I am satisfied.

Speed dials are assigned to the number keys on the dial pad. You hold the number on the dial pad you assigned for a particular contact and it dials it. So pretty much it's the first thing you see when you open the dialer.
Good that you sorted it out.
