i am sure it will be once they get out in the wild in greater numbers. i will have my pre-order in the next few days. it might take a few weeks for stuff like that to be figured out.
since the s7 edge was locked down (didn't know that til this thread), I'd guess that the note will also be. such a shame to see t-mobile doing that..

I would highly doubt it's able to be unlocked. The s7 and s7edge were locked tight. Historically yes, but not recently. So, let's all hope, but if it's snapdragon based, it's probably locked. Exynos different story. Funny how things change. Annoying is more like it. Let's hope some folks cam post soon if it is indeed locked

I'm just wondering if it is possible to get the phone for 350$ in Canada. It isn't available off the play store, and every mobile store ('ve found/checked) has it for 599$
Is there anyplace to get it?
nope, canada sucks (this is coming from a canadian) we're still on 4.0.1
you can only buy from the google store if your in the U.S
your best bet would be to try negri or expansys
It's $413.09CAD ($406.14USD) at Handtec (out of stock but should be back soon?)
It's $439.99CAD ($432.59USD) at Expansys
It's $458.20CAD ($450.50USD) at Negri Electronics
Not $350, but definitely not $599 anymore. They haven't been that expensive for a few months now.

Well you can flash your device to yakju and get Google updates. You don't have to stick with the firmware the Canadian carrier-sold phones have.

That's unfortunate. I can see how its a hassle, but you just spend 20min, do it once and it's done. My phone was a CAN model and I flashed it the day I got it, and I'm better off for it.

Sigh.
It takes 20min total to download Fastboot/ADB, install drivers and flash the images. It is literally the easiest process of any phone available. Saying "I don't know how to flash" is saying "I'm too stupid to read a step by step guide or video".
Then you get updates. Stop complaining, seriously. You have 2 options: either you care enough to know there are new updates and you flash yakju (or custom ROMS), or you are fine with your stock firmware and you wait for the slower Samsung updates. Sure it'd be nice if every phone was yakju, but its about as easy as it can be to make yours one.
Or you can buy an HTC Amaze and know that you'll never get another software update. Your call.

You can do it man... My technologically challenged gf unlocked her Nexus' bootloader and flashed a new ROM all from following a Youtube video. Once you do it, you'll be forever glad that you did.

He's exaggerating a bit. Google said that the Play Store would start selling the GNex again w/ 4.1 preloaded "next week".
No he was correct it is for sale NOW!.. I did see an article this morning that said it was temp for just a week or so until the patch is reviewed..
They also wont ship for another 2 -3 weeks

where to buy gNex in canada?
I'm visiting Canada (Toronto) for 12 hours in mid august and I wanted to buy an unlocked Galaxy Nexus there..
I can't get it delivered in that time obviously, so can someone tell me which physical stores should I try? Also can you tell me some location where I'll find these stores close to each other?
Also do you guys think I'll be able to get it for 350$ or a similar price?
For AT&T in the US, does anyone have any idea what we're getting and when we're getting it? Is it going to be half-castrated like the SGS III? Why are some websites saying it's HSPA+? I'm pretty sure it's LTE... considering note #1 is.
What your seeing as hpsa+ is probably the international version. Not a release date for AT&T yet but probably Oct 24 or within a week after as tmobile is confirmed now for that date.

Okay, I got a Galaxy S3 about a week ago, rooted, installed rom manager and left it mostly alone...... Today I tried to install a rom and it is now completely unresponsive(no matter what buttons I hold down)
This is what I did:
1. Flash Clockwork using Rom Manager
2. selected "Install rom from SD" and picekd the rom I had downloaded(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735850)
3. rom tried to install but failed, error code 7 i believe
4. CWR warned me that the phone might try to Flash the system recovery on boot and asked if I wanted to prevent it... so I let it do it's think
5. phone *reboots* but does not turn back on.....
When I plug it in to the computer it is recognized for a second(windows does the usb beep) then fails....this also happens when I try the button combinations
Pulling the battery/sd has NOT helped
flashed an international rom phone might be bricked. Hopefully it didn't actually flash and you can odin the phone back to stock.

If you do the exchange through tmo, it will go through just fine regardless of where you bought it. This is not an invite to argue, I'm stating facts from experience.

I suppose they could have changed it since I did it the last time (Sept) but that would be crazy if they did. I get most of my phones by trading etc. And have always had them replace phones if needed (since g1 times). But I've never actually said to them that I didn't buy it new, and I've never had them ask. Maybe it's one of those things that it would be too much work to keep track of, but they can deny it if they know? Cause it could be from a different line on the account that had an exchange a few months ago so the imei wouldn't match the receipt anyways. They would need to hire an entire department to go through all of the exchanges.

This is why people shouldn't hack their phones unless they educate themselves on what they r doing. Good Luck
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
JTAG it from mobiletechvideos. Don't use the warranty method. You made the mistake so man up and pay the $60 or so it will cost for them to fix it. They have great support and will keep you informed the whole way through. Using the warranty method will just jack insurance and cost up for everybody that does their homework before flashing willy nilly. Good luck.

Hi Guys,
Despite of a total recall by Samsung I am using and still loving Note 7 Experience and dont want to give away my phone. I have couple of questions please;
1- Has someone worked on Stock Android 7.0 Nougat for Samsung Galaxy Note 7 N930FD and it is available?
2- Will developers at XDA will keep supporting Note 7 despite of a recall and no further official support available?
Keeping fingers crossed!
Regards
Hannan

Hell no! I'm done with Samsung already. I love the phones, but their OS updates are just so sad. Android O is already announced and yet I'm still on MM. I'm just going to wait for the next Pixel phone IMO.
I am on the fence. Been thinking of switching away from Samsung got a little bit, but suppose I should wait and see if the S8 will be worth it over the other android phones out there...
