Currently I am running Bliss Rom with Gapps (latest builds) and the lastest ElementalX kernal. The other night I wanted to try out Dirty Unicorns on the 5x, because I had used it on another device. I downloaded it's latest version along with the banks dynamic gapps that were the latest because they are recommended. Of Course I did a wipe as per the Unlock/Root/Flash thread says to on how to flash new roms (always double check what I'm to do to flash roms for safety). (Also I did stuck with the DU kernal for safety) The DU rom booted fine and ran fine and signed in to my google account, but when I went to get to my contacts, it wanted me to sign in again, which I did, and it told me my account already existed on the device, so I removed the account and put it back on, tried to manually sync multiple times and it wouldn't budge. I then tried a Beanstalk build with the latest gapps and it did the same, so I have no clue what gives here . I have tried googling and searching for an answer probably 100 times by now lol so here I am posting. By no means am I a total noob for Android as my account tells, I just am not forum active as much. If someone has an answer or help for this issue I would be greatful because I want to try out Dirty Unicorns.
(I saw from the DU bugs that this is not a DU problem that is why I didn't post it for them, they blamed the gapps, but I have tried two sets of gapps on the two roms and neither worked)

I noticed something a few days ago while I was flashing the newest build of AOKP, and I was curious to see if anyone has noticed this or if it is just an issue for me. For as long as I can remember, every time I would flash a new ICS rom other than miui, all of the apps i had installed on my phone before the flash would automatically start downloading again upon the first boot on the new rom.
But as i said, upon flashing aokp build 40, remICS, paranoid android, and cm9, none of my apps from the play store have automatically restored. I tried all of them, being that there are different gapps packages for each rom, to see if it was a problem with the GAPPS package(s), but none of them worked. I also noticed that the GAPPS version had been changed for cm9 roms on the cyanogenmod wiki.
Can someone pleas explain to me what is going on, and what I need to do to get the feature of my apps restoring back. I tried searching but came up with nothing, any help is appreciated. Thanks, and have a good day!
thanks for the awesome help everybody, i knew i could count on you guys! (jkjk)
System settings > backup and reset. Back up Google account. Once that's done it should start restoring apps in between builds of anything as long as you do it on that rom. For example you back up on cm and flash aokp... it won't work. But if you flash another cm build it will start restoring again. Oh . And you don't need to wipe data between builds... its unnecessary unless directed otherwise.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM, maguro) and had aokp 4.2.2 nightly installed on it for a while. I wanted to try out 4.3, so I went back to stock. After a week, I missed aokp's features and decided to go back. However, after installing aokp milestone 2 and gapps, I could download all of my apps from the Play Store except for G+. While downloading it freezes at 11% and sits there (for 10+ minutes). I figured something was wrong (maybe with milestone 2?), so I tried these other routes, not knowing what else to do: (1) I downgraded my Play app to 3.1 (or 3.2?); (2) I wiped my phone clean and installed stock 4.2.2; (3) I flashed the aokp nightly (prior to milestone 2) that I had originally used; (4) I tried 3 different versions of G+ from friends who kindly sent them to me. All three versions "stopped" and were unusable.
So, I'm stumped. I don't understand why G+ freezes at 11% on 4.2.2 stock, 4.3 stock, an aokp nightly, and aokp milestone 2. Or why other versions won't run.
The only other thing I can think of (if I understand it correctly): perhaps, when running 4.3, my G+ app was backed up and when I downgraded to 4.2.2 it became incompatible. Is that possible? If it was, I thought that wiping my phone and adding stock 4.2.2 would fix that, but the problem persists.
Thanks for your help.
I have a T-700
I don't use this tablet much at all, so it's been sitting for around 4 or 5 months with no use. I had Official CM 12.1 installed on it and looked around and saw some 6.0 roms I wanted to try. I downloaded the AOSP 6.0 rom along with the nano Gapps package from opengapps.. After flashing the newest Firmware and TWRP in Odin, I wiped the device and installed the ROM+Gapps+SuperSU. Tablet booted up right to the home screen with no Gapps or setup wizard.
I wiped the device again, redownloaded all the files I was using and tried again. Same result. No Gapps or setup wizard.
After this I tried several other 6.0 and 5.1 roms with around 10 different Gapps packages from different dates and websites. Same result every time. Then I decided to reflash the newest Firmware and TWRP once again in Odin. Same result time and time again, regardless of the ROM or Gapps package.
What is happening to my tablet? I've never once experienced this in the 2 years owning it. I even flashed the old ROM and Gapps files I used over a year ago and it still boots up with no way to sign into my google account or get into the play store. I've tried just about everything. People say OpenGapps is having problems right now, but even packages from other sites are having the exact same effect.
Hello droiders,
Bit of a noob here. So I decided to try and jump up 4 versions on my I-9195 from 4.2.2 to 8.1 to give myself a phone that actually can use some stuff!
as i'm on a Mac, i used Jodin to root (wiped phone first), installed TWRP and superSU, then flashed Ressurection Remix v6.0. It works smoothly enough on the ROM's apps, but the stock open G-apps I flashed on it are not really happy at all and keep crashing and repeatedly saying they've 'stopped'. Connected OK to wifi and can use phone. No interface slowness or anything. Just the darn g-apps.
Any suggestions?
edit: FIXED!
I simply flashed G-apps directly after the ROM, and wiped caches. Phew, no one told me that coudl avert such a ****-up so easily
Make a new full wipe, flash ROM and gapps at the same time and than reboot.
As Gapps Version is pico or nano recommend
Thanks, that's what fixed it.
Do you know why I keep getting 'program not responding' messages, and then when I press 'Wait', they immediately start responding? Is there a way to get rid of these annoying popups?
I recently upgraded the Motorola One Action LOS4M to the latest 4-7-2022 build and, after the typical LineageOS loading screen (which lingered an abnormal amount of time), it shut off on its own and was sent to the LineageOS Recovery saying the ROM was "corrupt," and to do a factory reset to possibly fix it. After trying that a few times (including a TWRP advanced wipe), I get the same result of being sent back to the recovery with the same message installing the Official ROM from LOS4M official site. Anyone else having this problem with this build, and any of the recent Official LineageOS builds (not the 'for MicroG' builds) so we can tell where the issue is? The previous build (3-21-2022) still works fine so had to downgrade to get the phone to work.
You should try the new 19.1 build and see if it works.
From reading the wiki, you should use "MindTheGapps".
If you're not looking to do that, isn't a way to use MicroG "rootless" (without flashing it)?
This could be a bug, as none of the builds are stable (nightly).
