Any predictions on a BOGO from Verizon. I currently have a preorder for 2 Note 7's in with AT&T who has a BOGO sale going, but I am pretty sure I'm going to switch to Verizon. I see that Verizon had a BOGO on the s7/s7 edge about a week after they started shipping, and not during pre orders. I wonder if they will do the same and have a BOGO in a week or 2? It seems even though Verizon added subs, their profits are down and they just spent a crapload of money on Yahoo, a BOGO deal would be nice to get them some new subs.
It'll probably be a few weeks after since the current promo ends on the 28th I think. Might be a September thing if you're lucky.
Costco is offering up the BOGO on the Note 7 through the 25th or 28th. Not sure how they are and not Verizon, but that appears to be the case.
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
It's actually Verizon that is doing the BOGO, I'm not sure why they are so secretive about it. I bought 2 Note 7's from Costco Friday and to get the BOGO you go to a Verizon website to fill in the rebate and upload your contract, and Verizon sends you a visa card with $672. FYI later t hat night I found out BB is giving out $200 gift cards which you can get in addition to the BOGO, and of course you still get the memory card or Fit from Samsung, would have been nice but oh well I'm happy. Costco also gave me 2 $25 cash cards and both activation fees waived, so another $90 in essence. They also gave me 2 backup batteries which I just shrugged off as junk, but when I got home realized they are actually quite decent.

I cannot find any information on this at all. Is this offer still valid? The best buy deal is gone! But sams club has $150 gift card. If Verizon is still offering bogo then I think it's still worth it.
Anyone else verify this as being how it's done? I don't see a way to check this on Verizons rebate center. It's www.yourwirelessrebatecenter.com

I just talked to a Verizon rep. Apparently I was going to wrong website (looking at above comments)....
The correct website is
www.yourdigitalrebatecenter.com
And it's there you can see if you enter GALAXYBOGO that the offer is valid.

No worries! At least we have it available
Just trying to figure out it Sam's Club works for this. They have a $150 gift card for purchasing a Note 7 in store on installment plan thru Verizon.
The rebate website doesn't list Sam's Club however. It lists Costco, best buy, and Verizon works. But Sam's Club is an authorized dealer... The Verizon rep told me it would work, but I'm always skeptical of what they say. Would love to know if anyone purchased at Sam's
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Ok so here is the REALLY messed up part. No one, and I mean no one, from any of the company's, actually know what's going on. I just spoke... Over online chat AND phone, with 3 different reps from Verizon redemption center. Number is 844-408-8471. They told me that indeed Sam's Club IS ELIGIBLE even though it is not listed.
Moreover, 2 Verizon Reps from Verizon Wireless told me that BOGO is not even active, not active FOR ANY store purchase... Including best buy! Verizon Wireless reps twice told me there is NO BOGO. Verizons redemption reps however say not only is it active, but Sam's Club definitely works. Both reps even told me I could call them from in store if someone gave me an issue.
I really like this deal.... My family uses sams club every month for groceries. I have 2 lines I can effectively cancel now, and really make out good on this deal. So I've been calling and talking to people all day. And no one has an absolute answer. Even the guy at sams club (on phone) did not have an actual answer.
Guess I'll make the trek to sams and see what I can figure out in person.
I would love for someone to call the redemption center number for Verizon I listed above. I swear to you I'm not hearing things!
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Talking to Verizon guys is a waste of time. I would suggest calling Sam's club and ask to speak to the mobile division there directly.
Costco for sure has it. I thought it was a Costco exclusive, but i could be wrong.

www.yourdigitalrebatecenter.com (which is where you redeem your rebate for BOGO) has terms and conditions listed for the deal. Stores include Costco, Best Buy, and Car Toys. Sams Club is not listed.
However, I called the Verizon redemption center, the number listed on www.yourdigitalrebatecenter.com and twice they told me over the phone that indeed sams club qualifies. Twice over the phone, and at least twice online chat. I also called local Sams club. They had no idea this existed. But my local best buy didn't know either. And I know best buy definitely qualifies. Just frustrated that customer service at Verizon Wireless, Verizon redemptions, sams club, and best buy
... All told me different things.

The BOGO deal is ONLY available on a device payment plan. I thought the same.. that I would buy one on a device payment plan and then pay it off quickly and then sell it and wait for the VISA card.. but the print out from Costco clearly said that the device HAS to be on payment plan for 8-10 weeks, which is when the Visa card will be sent out.

What's worse.... According to the redemption center guidelines for the rebate... Purchasing at a Verizon store doesn't qualify for BOGO at all. Whether you purchased at verizonwireless.com or in store.

Guess its for the best. Just added a line for my daughter who got her brothers iphone 6, he got the new note, i've got my Nexus 6P and the wife is happy with her S5 so another note would have been useless.
I got an S7 and S7 Edge almost 6 months ago via Staples $400 Visa gift cards for each plus Verizon's BOGO offer.
This weekend, I got a Note 7 and another S7 Edge via Best Buy's $200 gift card for each, Fit2 watch for each, plus Verizon's new BOGO offer.
Does anyone know if there is any "clawback" from changing the number from the new lines in DPP? I want to sell the Staples phones once the 6 month period, keep the two new ones BUT change one of their numbers to one of the soon-to-be-cancelled lines. Can I do that?
Hey guys I just wanted to let you know , Verizon has Note 7 for business accounts $299. Just purchased 2

Pretty typical. Once you sign on that dotted line, they don't give a **** about you anymore. Pretty back asswards business model, but all of the carriers are the same now. Your screwed no matter who you go with...

Amazon will get more of a kickback for a new customer than an upgrading customer. It's probably not in their best interest to offer this to a new customer.
If you had an evil friend though, they could sign up, get the phone, install RoamControl and push a modded PRL, and tether/stream constantly.
Their doing this to get rid of wimax phones. I advise waiting 1-2 months for the galaxy nexus if 4G is most important to you. Rumor has it that it will be released in a month exactly.

During black Friday week, my family got 3 Samsung epic 4g touches from amazon wireless for .03 cents total! This is the same exact deal and its so worth it, love this phone

I missed that deal, guess I wasnt really looking for a new phone at the time. Been happy with my HTC EVO, but well its just slow with all my apps and such. Need more memory and power.
But yes Sprints website shows it for 199.00. Plus nothing free. So you save big time. I hope its comparable to the EVO.
Lets just call this Dark March. Ends 3/26. But you can get any 4G phone for .01
But no Iphones. But heck a penny is better than 199.00.
enjoy the savings!!
I took advantage of this since I've been thinking of switching from T-Mobile to Sprint for the past few months. Just got my phone this morning and I already love it. Definitely worth my penny!
So when someone asks "How's the phone?" don't you dare say "Worth every penny."
or I'll punch you in the mouth.
I jumped from Verizon when they offered this on black friday. Got an Epic touch, Photon, Nexus S, and an HTC evo3d for less than a nickel. Had to exchange the Epic due to LoS and it couldn't have been easier. Highly recommend it if you can.

Current customer, new service. Yeah. Nice opportunity to snag a new phone and activate it on your own # while passing on the old phone to the account you just had to buy to score the penny phone.
Unfortuntately, I don't need another line.
Just got two in the mail today. I found out about the deal a few days ago, decided to finally make the switch from AT&T. Also Amazon gives you free 2-day shipping.
Worth every penny
Unfortunately I found out about this on gizmodo X_X
But I could not believe it. I had a friend at work who got her Evo 4G for a penny during black friday 2 years ago. She said it was so easy to do and there weren't hidden fees.
I have been wanting to switch to sprint for months. I've decided that the Epic 4G touch is for me. Yes the camera is what is making me go crazy about it. It looks like an amazing phone too. Sam's club fluctuates the price between $45 and $99 and target has theirs for $99. Amazon had it for $100 first, then 74, and then 45. I could not believe how fast the prices were dropping. I know it was either because of the SGIII coming out soon or the galaxy nexus coming to sprint. I am fully aware of the GSIII and it will probably be awesome but I am fine with Epic Touch 4G. It will take a year or two for sprint's LTE to have wide coverage as well.
I am currently on a family plan with ATT with my iPhone 3GS and I will have to break the ETF ($165..like I'm waiting til december) but it will be worth it.
I have no credit though but I am so fortunate sprint is only charging me $50 for the fee. When I went to ATT 2 years ago trying to get a plan of my own they wanted to charge me $500 to hold for a year because I had no credit. WTF!?
I am a little nervous about the credit check though. I just went to sprint today and was told I have 30 days to start the service but after 30 days another credit check will be required. I don't want a lot of marks. I read on Amazon Wireless FAQ that amazon does not do the credit check and that it goes through the carrier. When I was having the credit check done the lady asked for my contact informations, social security, and asked how I want my billing set up and I got a confirmation email.
So my question is since I partially started singing up for Sprint will that be continued or restarted by going through amazon wireless? I went through almost all of the amazon wireless until they asked to run the credit check. I just don't want to have it checked twice in this fast duration of time. But nice that being on my own plan I will be able to build credit too
Thanks everyone and I'm glad that others are excited as well and I hope that the Epic 4G Touch has a good lifespan and community for a few years
Oh also I heard some people mentioning that you also get free 2 day shipping? Is that only if you have amazon prime? (used two prime trials already) or is that the promotion with amazon wireless. Like the waived activation fee if activated before march 19th. Thank you.
I jumped on this deal as well, I'm coming from a g2x that I still love for many reasons however this is too much of a good thing to pass up. I'm looking forward to Monday can't wait to pimp it out!
This will hold me over till we get the next galaxy

Well, this puts me in a bind... I signed up with AT&T on Oct. 5th (just before they reduced the return time to 14 days). Was hoping it would get released on or before Nov. 5th so I could exchange my current phone (minus the $35 restocking fee). Would preordering still make me eligible for the $299 price as long as I returned my current phone before Nov. 5th? Sounds to me like I might have to go phoneless for those 4 days...
Best bet is to always call support or see a store rep for accurate answers. And extra friendly can go a long way with the reps who get yelled at all day.

Can't believe AT&T is slower to release than T-Mobile. I had always looked at AT&T as being the big dog on the block, but it appears otherwise now.
I know we want to beat up AT&T because we don't like to wait for our new toys, but d*** they are being slow, and releasing after the smaller providers is just crazy. I sure wished the international was LTE because I would pay the difference and never look back.

I know T-Mobile is not going to have any accessories at launch. According to tmonews.com, and a leaked internal document that shows all of the accessories being sold for the Note II. The first accessories (Samsung branded included) are expected to arrive Nov. 7. It is my guess that AT&T could release the Note II the same time as Sprint and T-Mobile, but they don't want to release it without any accessories for fear of losing revenue by people seeking accessories elsewhere. Carriers count on revenue from accessories with an extremely high markup to make up for the big markdowns they take on phones, especially a phone as expensive as the Galaxy Note II. T-Mobile and Sprint have likely made a calculated decision to accept these losses in order to get a leg up on AT&T and Verizon. While people surely will not be moving in droves, it is likely to attract at least some impatient Verizon and AT&T customers to their networks and makes them look good for getting it first.
I've now gotten different answers from two reps on the Note II pre-order. Neither one knew the off-contract pricing, but one suggested that the Note II may not even be available for pre-order without a contract or upgrade. Any of you guys hear something similar? Is there any precedent on AT&T's part not allowing a new phone to be pre-ordered off-contract?
If I pre-order from At&T, will I have any trouble keeping my grandfathered "unlimited" data plan? If I do still go with the GNII, should I just take my chances with walking into a store on the 9th instead of pre-ordering?
I've received that answer from reps in the store before, (way back when I had my windows mobile phone in 2008); One of the smaller corporate stores refused to sell it to me out of contract. I said F them, and went to the flagship store in Houston, no problems checking out. I've never seen a restriction on off-contract phones, but then again, they are AT&T.

Has anyone received there's yet? I ordered mine on Cyber Monday in the early morning. Still waiting. Getting impatient!!! I want to play!
UPDATE: I received it yesterday (12/6). 1 week and 3 days. I live in Philadelphia if that helps some of you estimate. Wal-Mart made me update my $25 for 2gb plan to $30 for 3 gb. I'm contemplating calling AT&T to have the switch me back. Yeah it's more cost efficient for the 3gb. But I'm always on Wi-Fi and rarely get past 1.2gb. Plus that's still $60 at the end of the year.
My dad bought his last week. Still on backorder.

what color did you purchase? white or grey? I purchased my white the day before and still have not received information on when it will be shipped...
Ordered a white Note 2 on 11/26/2012 7:17:23 PM.
Still nothing, despite some completely useless and frustrating calls/chats with customer service who basically told me "we may have some in soon and we may not." Thanks for that hugely insightful info Random Tech Support Guy!
Other Options
Just go order it from Costco or Sams Club. They have no activation fees/ upgrade fees, and you get free accesories.

ordered my white one directly from AT&T on the 27th, they just shipped it today. hold in there, i'm sure walmart will be getting theirs very soon, since AT&T just got their shipment.
Anyone have any issues keeping unlimited data when upgrading through walmart? My dad was told he will lose his and if he has att revert it walmart collections will come after him for the full price of the phone. Anyone ever have an experience like that?

Have your dad talk to AT&T about his plans to purchase the phone through Wal-Mart first so they can make a note on his account about the grandfathered unlimited data plan. Only AT&T can re-enable the grandfathered unlimited data plan. Then, when he goes and picks up/receives his phone, call AT&T before doing anything with the phone. (If he's picking up from Wal-Mart, tell the Wal-Mart rep to not do anything until they call up AT&T to work with them about his grandfathered unlimited data plan.) AT&T will need to know the SIM's numbers and the phone's IMEI. They'll tell him when to put the SIM in and turn the phone on. Make sure he keeps emphasizing to AT&T that he has the grandfathered unlimited data plan.
In fact, like in my case, if your dad hasn't purchased the phone yet, AT&T might even offer to price match Wal-Mart's price, which may be a better option if the Note II is still on backorder at Wal-Mart. AT&T tends to get priority over the retail stores, so they're able to dish out the phone sooner.
I dont see how walmart can come after him for collections if he changes his data plan, they can only come after him if uses a different sim card during the first 6 months after activation, though they send a bill before sending it to collections. They can also hit him with an etf if he cancels his account after the return grace period on top of the etf you will get from att.

While upgrading your phone through walmart, you have the option to keep your existing plan or w/e and keep your unlimited plan, apparently they cannot because they are a third party. I had to talk to att and another walmart rep, downgrade my data plan and it will have to be regrandfathered in later. In all this shipping was delayed once again. You would think with the 2 weeks they have said they have "processed" the purchase, this problem would have came up then instead of right before it is set to ship.
tl;dr don't use walmart, go amazon or straight through att, these people are too retarded to deal with.
Thanks for the replies guys. The reason he went through walmart is because of the $100 gift card offer. I told him there should be no issue reverting the plan if it does get changed and that's when he told me about walmart collections thing. But I'll pass this great info into him.

Well, if he's locked in on the order, he can call AT&T and alert them of the situation. Again, I advise he heavily emphasize he has the grandfathered plan. They need to leave a note on his account about it. geishroy described the process rather well, but AT&T must be aware of it. Most third party retailers don't know this. When I was about to place an order with Best Buy for my phone, I had to stop to verify with AT&T about my grandfathered data plan and that's when the AT&T rep offered me the price match. This will be a good learning experience for the Wal-Mart rep. Good luck.

It sounds like just a cheap sales tactic that particular rep developed. It's never good to lie to your customers. And if AT&T catches wind of this, the rep's store might be in trouble with AT&T for false claims.
I hope your T-Mobile purchase experience was better than mine:
Ordered online through an organizational discount link (T-Mobile AdvantageDirect? )
Order placed on 9/20. It is 9/27 and I don't have my Samsung Galaxy S4 M919 yet.
I even got an email with my new phone number from T-Mobile.
Shipment Tracking number provided, but UPS claims they have no record of receiving a package from T-Mobile for that tracking number. T-Mobile claims they mailed it out on 9/24 with that tracking number.
Many calls to T-Mobile customer service to try to track down my new phone.
Saga continues...
Update 9/30/2013:
T-Mobile customer support contacted their offline support to try to locate the package, since 9/27, and still no word yet. After speaking to T-Mobile Customer Service and getting an OK from them, I went down to the local T-Mobile store (was crowded), showed them the existing paperwork and got a new Galaxy S4 with a new number in about 15 minutes, under the same organizational discount.
Canceled the online order.
Update 10/3/2013:
T-Mobile still can't locate the package, and it appears to be their policy not to process a refund ($159) until they locate the package they lost! I've called my credit card company to dispute that charge.
Update 10/4/2013:
Now they think I am trying to cancel the phone I bought at the local T-Mobile store (they got the phone number of my current S4 phone in this e-mail from them):
T-Mobile Handset Order Research Request
Handset Order Reference: XXX
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. We are unable to send a mailing label for this order. Update 10/18/2013:
Still no sign of my refund yet. Credit Card company is investigating. T-Mo says they have escalated the issue, and that I should be receiving my refund soon. I suspect someone is picking off certain online orders before shipping, and selling them under the table or on the black market. There's no way a phone that has been activated and assigned a phone number can go missing like this.
Update 10/23/2013:
Still no refund yet. I called T-Mobile Customer Service and they said they'll escalate the issue (again). They don't make it easy to get a refund, even when the mistake was clearly theirs.
Update 10/25/2013:
I received a paper bill for cellular service ($121) for that lost phone! I called T-Mobile and after they transferred me thru 3 different support reps ("Buyers Remorse" Dept? ), they said they'll cancel that account/service and make a note not to refer that account to their Collections Dept for non-payment.
I received a credit of $159 (from my credit card company, Chase) for that lost phone back to my credit card. If T-Mobile doesn't respond to Chase within 45 days, that credit is mine to keep. Good Credit Card company Chase will show T-Mobile not to mess with customers.
Update 11/20/2013:
I received another bill for $121, this one warning me about possible Collections action if I don't pay. I guess the previous T-Mobile support rep didn't properly close out the account and billing. Another call (20 mins) to T-Mobile to sort out the issue. See letter I received (separate message in this thread).
Update 12/23/2013:
I received a bill for $3.30 from T-Mobile
I did call them again in late November, and they verified there was a zero balance on the account. Now this new amount looks the taxes on the amount they zeroed out. Looks like they just won't quit billing me. T-Mobile must have the most messed up billing/accounting department of all the major Carriers.

Do the physical stores honor organizational or corporate discounts (up to 20% off the regular prices)?

Yeah, they do.
I bought it from staples and i was there 8 hours over 2 days. They fuked up the activation by entering dealer codes wrong, messed up security deposit amount, and some other stuff i forget. It took a long time to get it straightened out and the staples employee was yelling at them.
Oh well. I always buy directly from the T-Mobile website. I upgraded through Costco and Wirefly before but ever since T-Mobile came out with this new model, their website is the only place you can go through without getting something messed up.
So has you gotten it straightened out yet?

Same here. They also did the online purchase option with me standing there so I'd be eligible for the $30/mo 5Gb prepaid plan. Couldn't have been better or easier.
Yeah, my experience was pretty awesome. It was a chick around my age (20) who laid out all the details, including pricing and whatnot so I wouldn't be confused, even though I already knew everything she was telling me. The whole process was essentially flawless, with the only problem being that they didn't have the Black S4 in stock so I had to get white -__-. Sorry your process sucked bro.
Walk in. Buy. Walk out. I just always try and make sure there is little to no talking. Especially when the reps try and sell me on a device I'm already there to buy. !!! I've been waiting 5 months for this device there is nothing you know that I already don't !!! I hate salesman

I am now getting 2 identical sets of marketing flyers, etc. in the mail from T-Mobile. I guess someone needs to tell T-Mobile sales/marketing that one of my accounts (for which I never received a phone) is officially closed...
I'm getting very tired of calling them

wow this seems to be a terrible experience. you seem to have a lot of patience. i would have went off on everyone.
Last weekend I visited T Mobile and Sprint.
Here's the contrasting experiences...
T Mobile
My wife needed her first Smartphone. (Big day! She's joining the 21st Century!) We go to T Mobile to look at the new Samsung Galaxy Light. Great little affordable but shockingly powerful device. We walk into the store. The guy asks if he can help us. He points us to the Galaxy Light and leaves us alone until we need further assistance.
My wife and I play with the various smartphones as I show her the differences, we settle on the Light after about 25 minutes. I go to the guy int eh store and tell him I want one. He looks up my account, goes in the back to get the phone, registers it with her account, activates the SIM card, I swipe my credit card, the clerk and I make fun of my wife's texty phone from 5 years ago, and we leave. My total time with the clerk is MAYBE 5 minutes after I settled on buying the Galaxy Light.
No changes were needed on my plan. We have the simple 500MB data plan already. Just needed to buy the phone. Couldn't have been a better experience.
(I've had the same experience with the last 3 phones I've bought for myself at T Mobile. In and out no problem)
Sprint
Later that same day I take my mom to Sprint to get her first Smartphone. (The women in my life are really behind the technology curve. I don't knwo what to tell you.) Mom has a Sprint contract that she's only 4 months into so we're really stuck with Sprint for her.
We got to the store, we have to sign in so that we can speak with a cleark when they are ready rather than when we are ready. "Fortunately" there is an hour wait to speak with someone so we have time to show mom every smartphone in the store. We finally settle on the new Google Nexus 5. It's a good option for mom.
The cleark finally grants us the honor of speaking to someone about buying it. They give us a good option of selling her existing flip phone (Yup. I said flip phone.) back and getting a $10 credit on her bill for it for 24 months adn then charging $15 for the phone, then updraging her to a smartphone plan with mobile data...blah blah blah for a final total of $65 a month plus taxes. They go get the Nexus 5 and try to activate it. The system won't let them do it. The manager gets involved. No luck. An hour and fifteen minutes later (Total time in the store is now 2:15) the manager says we were quoted the wrong price because mom is not eligible to take advantage of that offer to sell her old phone back unilt January 1st. Then they basically show us the door.
I couldn't believe it. They wasted nearly 2 and a half hours of our time. Quoted it wrong. Then instead of finding a way to make an exception to eligibility rules and letting my mom buy the $450 phone and more than double her monthly bill like she wanted to (and was happy to do!) and told us to take a hike. They literally wouldn't not let mom switch her contract to a more expensive one and let her spend $450 on a phone. Refused to allow her to do this. Then just "See ya..." Not an offer to credit her bill $10 or something just to apologize. Not an offer to give a discount on the phone when we come back. Not a free case for it. Nothing. Conversely in T Mobile I've gone in with issue and they offer to give me a credit or something just because I had the problem.
These two stories happened on the same day. Two totally different results. I recomended that mom just suck up the buy out fee in her Sprint contract and move to T Mobile. It's worth it to avoid ever having to deal with that store again.
I had a very similar (positive) experience going to the local store. I was able to walk in and buy my SGS4 w/ discount as well as my wife's iPhone and then stop over and eat lunch before going back to work. It actually took them longer to make my lunch order than it did to purchase the phones. I also received follow-up calls from T-Mobile asking if I had any questions about the phone, account, or my bill.
Prior to this I went through Best Buy because I had gift cards, coupons, a promotional offer, and they price matched Wirefly when I asked why the phone was so expensive at their location. I had an equally nice experience at both locations, but it did take a while longer at BB because they had to go through some absurd online and call in service to port our numbers over. It was much harder to leave sprint because they didn't want to let me go as a customer and offered me no incentive to stay. I had to make 4 calls and speak with their entire chain of command to simply speak with a knowledgeable accounts manager that could assist me with the termination.
It also seems to be another one of those YMMV experiences, where the level of caring can change from store to store.
Bill I received from T-Mobile for the lost phone and no service (see 1st msg in this thread for history):

I ordered my phone over the phone. It was a nightmare transferring my number. my order was delayed for reasons known only to t-mobile. Then I replaced it because it was defective. Took a month to receive credit for the replacement device.
Lesson learnt: do my business in a brick and mortar T-mobile store.
I went from Straight Talk to Tmobile, mainly because StraightTalk had really bad service, I had text messages that would arrive hours after they were sent or not at all. Also, I lost my phone in a cab.
Anyway, I went into (what I found out later) a non-corporate Tmobile store. Had the same outside branding, workers in the same outfits, had the phone displays, etc. I bought my S4 outright, transferred my phone number and signed up for the contract, no problems until they tried to sell me hardware insurance that I didn't want. I had to tell them no about 5 times, the final two times with a manager, who was acting as a closer with a real hard sell that I wasn't having. The final strategy was guilt, he made it seem like the sales girl would get in trouble if i didn't sign up for service. Why he thought this tactic would work on me I have no idea and had I not just spent all the time getting setup, I would have walked out.
I have to say my experience was great ordered my phone online waited about 3 days. Called tmo ported my number over with no problems and in less than 2 hrs I was up and running.
I literally just walked into the stoe, signed up for unlimited, bought my S4 and went home. It went pretty well.
While phones ordered from carriers have been shipped, Samsung order has not moved and still says "preparing order for shipment", which it has said for the last 12 days. Anyone with any encouragement?

Well, that's pretty good! Does it show your status as "shipped" on your order page? Mine still says "preparing for shipment" as of just now. Even the Samsung web page is jammed up, and has to reload several times and asks for my password over and over. I'm glad their phone engineers are better than their web designers. I'm surprised about your getting the Fit already. I ordered the SD card and received a notice that it is back ordered until the end of August.
It appears we are the only two people who ordered directly from Samsung.

Ok, I am another one that ordered from them on the 3rd early in the morning. Please note, the csr svc reps are giving you canned answers just like all the other carriers were doing when calling. They kept telling me the same thing when I called them. Second time I called I talked to the rep for quite a while. They really are not supposed to say anything other than the "last week of August, 1st week of September", but finally got them to admit first shipment going out on the 19th. From what I am being told on another forum from someone who has ordered two former pre-ordered phones from them that they have very poor info from their personnel and info on their website. She said last two phones she got on time as promised but the website wasn't updating. This is actually a company called Indian River which handles the phones for Samsung.com. Note again this is my first time and believe my order Will either be here on the 19th or ship on the 19th. Either way I don't mind because I already have my free gift of the sd card and I am in too deep to cancel. Not saying that others shouldn't cancel, because I do understand the frustration.

By the time I had pre-ordered through Samsung (5 minutes after the sale went live) they sent me an email saying the memory was sold out. So for me, canceling was a no-brainer. I just didn't feel like being strung along with such a bizarre string-line of responses.
BUT on a good note -- wen't into Best Buy 5 minutes ago, and I'll be picking up my new Note 7 Friday morning NOT worrying about whether or not someone is going to be home to sign for a package
Chikenbok, That is very bad news indeed, on the message from Samsung. I am holding on to the hope of Rsmn's post that we might still be getting phones on time. Since it's only a couple more days, I'll wait. But plan to drive to Best Buy Friday if no news from Samsung by then. I have not received anything from them at all either way. Before I ordered from Samsung, I considered Verizon and Best Buy, but in both cases, they tied the pre-order to my plan and made me change to the new "updated" one, as I'm still under contract obligation. It seemed simpler to order direct from Samsung, especially with the gift thing included without the extra steps. But BOY am I sorry!
Just called Samsung, FWIW, and they say it will ship out on 19th and I should have it by Wed or Thurs of next week. Oh well, I'll know for next time, NOT to order from them.
Kat. If you preorder online from best buy there are no strings attached (it's what I did in the store after being told they don't sell equipment directly in store...) .
You pay for the full phone online and can select to pick it up in store on Friday, they'll hold it for you for any carrier. If you go on their website and add the phone to your cart, there will be an option to "buy device only"
I hope that helps a bit!
Edit - it won't show up on mobile, you have to go to the website on a computer if it's all confusing. (just lemme know if you go that route!)

That is an excellent idea, and am in the process of doing it! It appears the free gift is now limited to the Fit and you can't get the SD card through them, which is what I wanted. Thanks very much for the input.
They have tons of SD cards in the store, I'm going to see if I can change it when I go in, the samsung rep was flashing them like they were 100 dollar bills and told me I could still grab one.
If not I'll try and snag one from Sammie... See if I can pull a 2 for 1

I noticed that Samsung excludes Best Buy purchases from that incentive, probably because they provide it at point of purchase. But that is a thought that they might switch it out at the store.
Done! Ordered from BB and hope they'll get enough that I can pick it up on Friday! Will cancel the Samsung order as soon as I'm sure. Thanks for the idea, guys!

How did that work out for you? Did they have it? Mine did not work out as I planned. By the time I changed my pre-order from Samsung to BB, there were not enough phones that came in to satisfy their orders, so I would have had to wait for the a future delivery. I went straight to the Verizon store before they opened, and the line formed pretty quickly! But I was second one in and got the Note. You just wouldn't think it would be this hard to get someone to take your nearly $900 for a phone.
I assume you got yours one way or another? It is a beauty isn't it?
