So Lets say I have had my Note 7 for 15 months and the battery is declining in its capacity to hold a full charge or that it is just not good any more. Question, so in order for me to replace the battery, I would have to send the phone back to Verizon or Samsung? What about my information? Would I have to factory reset it before sending back to replace battery? What other issues might be involved? Cost? I am curious how these issues would be handled by Verizon or Samsung. I welcome your comments!
Before your warranty is out just find a reason to send it in for a replacement. Whether it be inaccurate GPS or Bluetooth connectivity issues. I've had similar problems in the past and they will replace your phone if you have issues with either as both can have issues in the long run depending on how hot the phone gets when charging, etc or just general hardware issues overtime.
Wont you be getting a refurbished phone then? Also does anyone know if samsung replaces your battery or screen does it come back with warrenty for water and dust proof?
Which is better? Your used unrefurbished battery dying phone or someone else's used refurbished phone with a good battery? The latter.

So I am guessing that it is advisable to do a factory reset before you send in the phone for a battery replacement?
Always do a factory reset before sending your phone in. You never know whose going to repair or check your device, and they also require the password to be off, no google account lock etc
Just bring it to a reputable repair shop to change it out. I do galaxy s6 after liquid damage or if they used a cheap charger and it grief their battery.

Hey, I found a thread on this in the SII threads to no resolution. My phone's battery has been flaky at best and when I try to reboot it I get a temperature gauge with a yellow arrow (and am not allowed to boot until I plug in the phone). Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to resolve this?
I've Reset Battery Stats and I've wiped and tried multiple roms to no avail.
I had a very similar problem. The other symptoms I had were that the phone was not recognized on computer because of the USB and the notification light wouldn't go off like it thought it was charging. By any chance do you have any of those symptoms?

If you have a sprint epic 4g touch you shouldnt be on the sII section I almost bricked my phone when I got confused about the models and tried to flash a rom from there. On to the battery issue it sounds to me like you might need a new battery or there might be something wrong with the phone. I had an issue similar to that where my phone would out of the blue say battery disconnected when I charged it. I took it to sprint and it turned out it was a bad charger that was shorting my phone out. Have you tried a different charger? Believe me they can cause problems that last long after you have disconnected them. I would try a different charger and if that doesnt work take it to sprint and they will test it out and if it needs a new battery they will give you one for free and if it is something with the phone they will replace it for 35 assuming you bought it from sprint. O ya also if you take it to sprint make sure you unroot it/ return it back to stock because when I took mine in that is the first thing they asked and when I gave it to them to look at it the first thing they did was go to about phone to see if I was running any custom roms or kernals or anything like that.
I agree with rbtrucking. Sounds like a hardware issue. what is the temp hanging at? if it's really overheating a temp program should tell you if it's really actually hot or if the sensor is just going nuts, especially considering you've already tried multiple roms. I'm new to Sprint (switched from T-Mobile) so I don't know how forgiving the insurance is about sending you a new battery, but with T-Mobile I had a similar issue and they sent me a new battery free of charge. I would start with the battery first and if that doesn't work, you may wanna consider flashing to stock and sending it back for a refurb.

Sprint is very good with customer service in my experience. Just go to a sprint store with a repair center and if you don't have insurance and the phone cannot be fixed they will give you a new one for only 35 dollars. Also they will give you a new battery free of charge if you need one. If they don't have one in the store they will mail it free of charge. I just dealt with them the other day and this is what they told me.

Good to know, T-Mobile wasn't so forgiving. They replaced my battery but tried to screw me on my insurance claiming the rates have been raised since the previous time I needed a replacement and tried to charge me $200 for a Motorola Defy that was selling new at the time for $350. What's the point of insurance if I can buy it on Ebay for cheaper ha.
Update:
So I took it into Sprint and after a night with the phone they weren't able to fix it and said there was corrosion damage on the charging port and he tried to scrape it off but it didn't fix it. He showed me the corrosion using a high-tech magnifying glass so I know he wasn't lying.
Anyway, because I didn't want to spend $100 to get insurance replacement, I got home, whipped out the rubbing alcohol, my girlfriend's hair pin, and some cotton swabs and went to town on it.... so far so good. Hopefully the corrosion doesn't come back but even if I have to do that from time to time I won't mind.

How was there corrosion damage? did you get the phone wet?
Mr gf has a stock galaxy nexus. She got it less than 2 months ago. Today, she grabbed it from her bag, and it was off. She turned it on, it started to boot, then shut down. Now it won't respond. It doesn't turn on at all. We tried connecting it to a charger (wall charger and car charger) - no response. We tried connecting it via usb to her laptop - no response.
She took it to verizon and they took out the battery, mentioned the sensor should be red if it had water damage then said it has water damage (even though it was still white), entered into the notes on her account that it had water damage after contradicting themselves, and told her the only way to get a new phone is to pay full price for one.
I've been reading through posts, and it looks like other bricked phones have been flashed. She doesn't even know the first thing about doing anything like that. It's a stock phone. The only thing I can think of is she downloaded some maliscious app, but I wouldn't think it'd brick the phone. Anyone experience this or know what to do aside from contact her credit card company?
Sounds like you had an incompetent CS rep at Verizon. Call and ***** or go back in. If it really doesn't have water damage then it isn't her fault, and you should be getting a replacement.

Try with another battery...
If you can find someone else with a GNex.
It may just be that your USB port is broken and won't charge the dead battery?
But agreed...go in ASAP and be like "Dude would NOT listen to me. I'm aware that my account is flagged for having a water damaged phone. But look; there is clearly no water damage. And you can check as hard as you want. I did NOT tamper with the sticker or anything of that manner."
(Also make sure BOTH indicators are white...the one on the phone AND the battery)
Thanks. We'll see what they say. She tried calling in to customer service last night, and they told her she can use her insurance (pay $100) and get a replacement in TWO WEEKS, since they're out of stock.
does the verizon gnex actually have a water damage sticker on the battery? mine (gsm) doesnt. so if it should be there make shure it is there

i just pulled my battery and there's 2 spots. one on the battery and one right next to the battery pins. (its a vzw nexus)
I bought a Galaxy Nexus from Wind Mobile(Canada) a couple of months ago and now some problems have arisen. When I got my phone I unlocked and rooted my phone, flashed AOKP 6 on it and that worked perfectly until now.
About a week ago the phone started to run extremely hot and the battery drained extremely fast and would run out when the phone was turned off. I got that replaced because I thought it was just a dead battery. The new one wouldn't charge half of the time and the other half extremely slowly (about 10% in 2 hours.) I tried multiple sockets, wires, and wall charging adapters which all didn't help so I decided that it wasn't a battery problem.
I thought that it could be the software so I returned my phone to the stock rom. That didn't change anything. At this point I'm certain that it's the hardware and I didn't damage it in any way physically or from modding it, it was a manufacturer fault. So I was setting up my phone to get ready for a return but it stopped working entirely before I could unroot and lock the phone. The battery has been drained dead and the phone doesn't charge via USB or AC.
Now I'm wondering whether I should go replace my battery again, which I can do for free, to give me the extra juice I need to unroot and lock it and send it to Samsung? Or should I just send it in as is, not working at all unless a charged battery is in there. The warranty says "(g) defects or damage resulting from improper testing, operation, maintenance, installation, service, or adjustment not furnished or approved by SAMSUNG" in the section of "What is Not Covered" by the warranty. Does this keep me in the clear for modifying my phone? The defect was not caused by the custom rom, root or the unlock.
Warranty: I can't link right now I need to make some posts.
The warranty was for the verizon gnex but I couldn't find the warranty this in depth for the one I have(the i9250 I believe)
The first thing the tech will do is flash a stock rom , he wont sit there playing with aokp making notes in your file. He probably does 300 phones a day, drops them on a dock, flashes them and runs a scanner and repeats. Now if it wont work on ac power, thats another story and if there water damage tags show no fluid exposure, he probably just throws it in a recycle bin and mails you a different refurb.
Anyone working at a repair centre can to make any corrections?

i would revert to stock and send
it into Wind and shoe them my problem. i did it last month with my G2x that had a shot charging port. i charged my battery with a universal charger and flashed the stock Wind rom and sent it in rooted. they may you pay a deposit of $80 if the manufacturer determines it's a hardware issue u get your deposit back if not the cost of the repair will be deducted from it if it is more they will call to confirm if you are willing to pay the extra if not the cost of shipping will be deducted. and if u want a loaner u will pay $10

Alright I brought it in to Wind and it's now being sent over to Samsung. Thanks for the reassuring replies
I need some advice. So I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus that it currently out of warranty, but I have an extended warranty through my credit card. The screen has image burn in that I've tried to fix with the "Galaxy Nexus Screen Diagnostic" app, which didn't work. I get zero sound from the external speaker now, and factory resets dont fix it. Lastly, the phone constantly drops a data connection. I love the phone, but this one was a warranty refurb that has gotten worse over time. Anyway, my cc company needs a repair estimate to attach to my claim. The problem is that everywhere I go is requiring me to leave my phone so they can take it apart before giving me an estimate. I need my phone for work and can't afford to leave it with someone for a day or 2 to get it done. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a repair estimate, even if it says the phone isn't worth the repair, without having to leave my phone for a bit?
I appreciate any help
Phone just quit charging the other day. No water damage or anything, it just died. Holding the power down trying to boot it after letting it charge for a while doesn't do anything. The phone is cold to the touch and I think it just went kaput.
No biggie, right? I have a warranty.
The problem is when I try to email or call them, I get nowhere. There is no response to any communication with LeEco. Does anyone have any ability to initiate a warranty claim and an RMA? I just need a replacement and am not looking for a refund or anything. I'm in the US.
Please help - I feel like I just lost $200 if I can't reach anyone over at LeEco.
Purchased the phone at Best Buy and in calling them they gave me a number that doesn't exist for support at LeEco.
Do I have any recourse with Best Buy?
Thanks in advance.
I am in the same boat, was trying to call them multiple times, but no response. Send them email also.
I dont know if you guys live in a humid climate or not but for the hell of it , put it in bag of rice seal good and let it sit for 24 hours can't hurt. Maybe moisture got in there
Have you try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/how-to/guide-hard-brick-fix-qualcomm-hs-usb-t3492949
Good luck
Maybe you could submit a ticket to Leeco, from here: http://www.leeco.com/us/user/cutTicket.html

Phones don't die just like that, in your case, it's either the battery, or a hard brick, or a defective screen. You should better change the battery and try to flash stock software afterwards if battery doesn't work, then you go for the screen, also the chargers that LeEco provides are crappy so it maybe went "out" and afterwards you went out of battery, try to charge with a different cable and charger. Can't post links till i get to 10 posts, if you don't mind and if i was helpful click the thanks button .
Well the phone is in with some rice and a silicone packet thing that absorbs moisture. It never got wet before it died, but figured what the heck, I have no other options.
LeEco won't pick up the phone, nor return my emails or voicemails. Nice company!
@filippos96 - phone is fully stock and I've tried several different chargers. The phone doesn't get warm at all - like its not even receiving power. If I open it up to replace the battery that might not fix it if the issue is with a component before the battery.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. If anyone knows a shortcut to open an RMA I would greatly appreciate it.

It doesn't respond to ANYTHING? Like if you press the power button for 10+ seconds does it vibrate? Like it doesn't even show boot screen or smth? Need more info for a better diagnosis. Also, doesn't matter if the phone is fully stock, anything could have been a factor leading to hard brick, which is most likely your case.. It's like most certainly the battery or a hard brick, may be a bad screen, one of those 3 for sure though. I vote for hard brick and dead battery . Happened to me on my 1+1.. I had no hope that the phone was ever gonna be usable, though that the cost would be higher than the ceiling, it turns out that it was just 8$, a new battery.. I have much much experience with smartphones, used to run my own repair and sell shop. It's up to you if you wanna follow my advise for free, or visit a fellow repairman . If this was any helpful to you please make sure you click the thanks button so i can get better and more helpful .
No screen on at all. No charge light. Imagine a brick. This is similar.
Did you purchase your phone with a credit card? Most have extended warranty programs. I'd go that route and see if you can get your money back. They generally don't kick in until the manufacturer warranty expires but it looks like the manufacturer is out to lunch. Doesn't hurt to try.
Hi well my charger burned in the Le Eco Le Pro 3 while charging and now the phone wouldn't charge. Mind you it's and excellent phone and while my warranty comes to an end in October I can't get in contact with the manufacturer. It's really annoying because I only want that part fixed.
Has anyone managed to get in contact with them please help.

LeEco did a bit of downsizing. Read the history section.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LeEco
Legally, Best Buy should honor the warranty and most suppliers would.
For example, Just a month ago, I have returned one of my LeEco phones (5 months old) that was damaged by a faulty cable. and I received a brand phone under warranty.
Unfortunately, Best Buy is notorious for not honoring factory warranties or even their own Geek Squad extended warranties.
https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit...fails-honor-geek-squad-plans-full-warranties/
You bought a phone with a published warranty from a company that is still in business. Most likely Best Buy received extra margin to service the warranty themselves.
Squeaky Wheel gets the grease
Since you cannot reach the manufacturer , you should keep contacting Best Buy, stay on the line and do not take no for an answer, keep asking for the next person up and record the phone call ( they are recording you) if you keep pressing they may give in. Important, remain polite and professional. If you are rude, they will do nothing for you.
Persistence works -read the solution on this page:
http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Best-B...pany-s-Promise-of-Quality-Service/m-p/1116017
Alternatively, get another cable and try unbricking your phone by following the unbrick guide. ( its works but only if you have a x727 or a x720) Its also possible that you have a hardware issue like I did. Worst case you can buy parts for these phones on Ebay and Alibaba
Sorry to hear about your phone
Which charger were you using?
Hi, I purchased 2 LeEco Le Pro 3 phones, and both have broken down completely manufacturer's fault. One, the battery inside the phone started to expand and push out the front screen glass out of its edges. The other one, which I purchased as a backup, the screen auto rotate does not work. I think the sensor is broken.
Now, I have no way to contact the manufacturer for the warranty repairs, none of the contact info are working. I purchased the phones directly from the manufacturer LeEco Mall (just as OnePlus sells directly to the consumer), so I can't even try to return it to the distributor or the seller.
PS: how long is the warranty period on these phones?
PPS: is there a reason that many distributors are still selling the Le S3, and other models except for the Le Eco Le Pro 3? I can't even buy the Le Pro 3 any more. Anyone else having the same problems mentioned above?
Guys give up, we are ALOT of LeEco Le Pro 3 users who got this problem. Everything started from nothing
@tsongming did you heard any news? I can see that one more user killed his phone Are there more or just him ? This is too strange, since 1 month alot of phones died .... hmm

we have exactly the same, try to search our thread on it. One user fixed his phone by "re-powering" his battery. I bought another battery and nothing happend for my phone sadly.
Stock
Unfortunately, all of these recent issues are likely due to manufacturing. If you take a look you will find that quite a few people who never used a custom rom are also having these issues on stock. Probably alot of the issues are the battery. Ideally the battery should not go over 100F / 38C
For these cases a battery will likely resolve the issue, of course there is also the issue with burned ports.
Custom Roms
But many of the Roms made within the last couple of months are based on Pie and there are too many unknown factors, such as permissions being reset for unknown reasons, edited thermal settings reverting to default etc.
Recently we have seen chip damage. But the cause of chip damage has been found and resolved.
If you are reading this post and your phone is fine. Take every precaution to ensure that your battery stays cool and if on Pie make sure that you have the very latest thermal patch installed.
