Impossible to access to the bootloader - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi!
I've a sony xperia z1 compact with cyanogen mod custom rom.
Version of CyanogenMod: 12.1-20160619-NIGHTLY-amami
Android Version: 5.1.1
Installed Recovery: Cyanogenmod Recovery
I have problems with this rom so I would install a new one, but to do that I need to install the TWRP recovery. To install TWRP on Z1 Compact i've downloaded TWRP from http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/general/twrp-3-0-1-amami-t3350827 and i've followed the instruction from this link: http://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/
But when I try to reboot my phone in bootloader mode I get a black screen with blue led and nothing else.
I want to install a Dirty Unicorns or Resurrection Remix roms but all of this rom require a TWRP recovery and not CyanogenMod Recovery.
There is something that I can do to fix this thing??
p.s. Sorry for my bad english

Blue led means you are in bootloader, you must connect device to pc and use fastboot command "fastboot flash recovery *and drag img with recovery to command prompt *" next "fastboot reboot" when led is orange (?) press vol- and you are in twrp 3.0

You can also flash TWRP IMG with Rashr app from Play Store, then boot into recovery.

Problem with dirty flash older version of a custom rom

Hello, a friend of mine installed a custom rom at my lg g3 android phone. The rom is ressurrection remix. I accidently dirty flashed an older version of the same rom, I had 5.1.1 r6 and I flashed 5.0.3, and now neither adb works nor download mode due to killswitch. The only thing it does is show the old rr boot image. It's on a bootloop and since it doesn't open I don't know how to fix it. Can someone tell me what should I do?
Can you use the button combo to boot into TWRP? If you can get into TWRP then just flash the ROM you want and be sure to follow the rom threads instructions before flashing of course.

How to keep DualRecovery after flashing CM based rom?

I just noticed a few things. The stock based roms are using the Dual Recovery in their rom, but CM based roms, like Resurrection Remix, uses Cyanogen Recovery.
So when I flash RR, it automatically replaces my recoveries with the Cyanogen Recovery.
Is there any way to avoid that? Or is there any way I can flash my Duel Recovery back after installing RR?

It's not all cm-based ROMs that use cm recovery. Each ROM is different. It's discussed in the RR thread, and it's in the 2nd post that cm recovery is built in to that ROM. There's links there for other recovery options. I like to always have Rashr on hand to easily flash IMGs, so I can access my backups from other recoveries. Dual recovery is just not going to work on every ROM.

Okay so here is what I did:
I flashed latest RR rom
This of course, overwrote my TWRP recovery so right now I have Cyanogen recovery.
Now I flash with Flashtool, the FOTA TWRP recovery which you pointed me at.
Device does not boot
I flash CM kernel from the multirom thread, which gives me acces to the previously flashed FOTA recovery BUT!
Device boots, Stuck at boot
What am I doing wrong?
EDIT: I tried flashing recovery with Rashr, it does nothing.

I haven't used RR since 1st build, but I know it's been addressed in the thread. I would be glad to try it out to help. Meanwhile, I would try to flash twrp with fastboot, (you said you used Flashtool - maybe the same, but worth a try), and also try flashing M5, (which you need recovery to do, but you could use a temp. boot.img to get into recovery, then flash M5), which may work better with recovery. There's also Nut's PC installer. And search the RR thread.
I'll attach a copy of twrp 2.8.7.0 to try. Hope this helps.
(File too big to attach. Let me know if you want it and I'll send a link)

You can't because CyanogenMod uses its own Recovery based of CWM ( I think? ). You could try however, using a custom kernel that has its own Dual recovery ( for e.g. PhilzTouch and TWRP )

I just remembered something else. See my post here- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62114382&postcount=534 - latest version of Rashr doesn't seem to work on some ROMs. Try this one...
Edit - I just successfully flashed twrp 2.8.7.0 on latest RR using Rashr. Make sure to use this version, not the latest Play Store.
Okay so I tried what @levone1 said. I installed that Rashr which you uploaded. I tried flashing the recovery with this, and it worked! Thank you very much guys for your help!
hey thanks to levone1 i got twrp running on crDroid rom.:good::good::good:
i did it like he said: Use his Version of rashr and flash his twrp. done!

Can only boot into fastboot mode anymore

Hey guys,
I have a problem with my Z1C.
I used CM 12.1 quite a while now and I wanted to know how much difference is to Android 6.
So I downloaded the Remix Resurrection rom and flashed the boot.img in fastboot mode to replace the CM-recovery with TWRP. That was a bit tricky, because CM deleted TWRP again and again and booted in the CM-recovery.
So, finally I got TWRP working, after booting directly into the recovery after flashing the boot.img via fastboot.
TWRP now told me, that no OS is installed. I tried to wipe the phone and to install the RR-rom, but the recovery always said that it has the wrong version (?).
So I flashed the boot.img from the Cyanogenmod-zip and was able to boot into CM again. But now there seems to be no recovery on the phone. Whenever I try to boot to the recovery, the Sony logo appears and the notification light turns into orange, but then it starts again to do so.
At the moment I try to boot into CM again, but I think it has stucked in a bootloop...
What can I do here? The only thing what works is to boot into fastboot mode, but without the system.img I cant flash any roms there. How can I fix this?
Thanks!

Shut down your device and press volume up button while connecting it to your computer. Then it will boot into fastboot mode and you should be able to flash stock firmware in flashtool, and then you can start from scratch.

Another option is to follow this guide to install Recovery and When done you can boot into Recovery and flash a custom rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/general/fota-twrp-recovery-amami-t2909719

Try Rashr app from play store. It sounds to me like incompatible kernel/recovery combo. Download a recovery IMG, (latest TWRP, for example), then use Rashr to flash it. You can also use it for flashing a boot IMG. Its probably the same reason you had trouble flashing ROM.
Besides that, you can install real recovery, which works the same regardless of the kernel-

Okay, after flashing it with flashtool it starts again. I now put the RR rom with Android 5.1 on.
I have again the CM recovery, but at least it starts how it should.
I will try to flash the real recovery, thanks!
Update:
Currently running RR with Android 5.1.
I would now like to use RR with Android 6, but again, I can only boot into the Cyanogen recovery, which cant make a backup of the currently running OS. I have tried to flash the boot.img from RR 5.1 with fastboot, Rashr, but nothing seems to work, as it puts me back to the Cyanogen recovery every time. How can I replace the Cyanogen recovery?
And one more question: When the phone starts, the notification light turns into red before the Sonmy logo appears and then turns into pink. What does the red light mean?

You need a recovery img, not boot img. Try this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65361797&postcount=78 or this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/general/fota-twrp-recovery-amami-t2909719 Open Rashr, choose ' recovery from storage'.
Okay, i flashed the 2.8.6.0 version via Rashr and now Im stuck on the Sony logo...the notification light is orange all the time, but I cant restart the phone anymore...any suggestions?
Edit: Worked! Used the combination between power and Vol+ to reset, and now it starts!
You should disable CM Recovery Protection – On your phone go to Settings > Developer options. Then disable the ‘Update recovery with system updates’ option. Otherwise it will keep installing cm recovery itself.

wileyfox swift fastboot does not work

hi,
my intention is to update from cyanogen to lineage,
do i need TWRP for this or can i update it trough cyanogen recovery?
i saw the topic "[RECOVERY][crackling] TWRP 3.1.0-0 [OFFICIAL]" and i tried to follow that instructions to install TWRP but it seems that it not works, now it seems that im unable to go to fastboot, following instructions on page "TWRP for Wileyfox Swift" when i type "adb reboot bootloader" it simply does not go to fastboot mode, what i can do to fix it?
ps. i saw the "[ROM][7.1.x][Official] crDroid Android v2.5 [OMS][2017-03-28]" has good reviews and i want to install it, can i install it trough cyanogen recovery?? if not how do i install TWRP? i simply cannot follow instructions of their site because by like i said now im not able to boot into fastboot, how do i fix this?
thanks..
solved
new fastboot mode dont display msg that you are in fastboot mode but in fact you are, the trick was simple as unlock bootloader then flash TWRP and then install ROM trough TWRP..
What are you coming from op?
CyanogenMod original on marshmallow?
Or a different ROM
As I'm struggling to do the same but with Nougat update
Can't get to the twrp install, does not see my phone.

Booting recovery damages the OS

After I flash a TWRP custom recovery to my Sony Z1C, I am still able to power up android. However if I then boot up recovery, I can no longer boot into the Android OS. Its as if booting from recovery damages something that the OS needs.
I feel I might be misunderstanding something or missing a step. E.g. do I need a specific recovery image to match the Android ROM version? Or do I need to root the phone first?
My steps...
Unlocked the bootloader (from fastboot using the Sony method)
Boot into fastboot mode and run: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Reboot the phone - Android launches ok
Power down phone and repeat rebooting - Android still boots ok.
Boot into recovery - this works ok.
Power down phone.
Attempt to boot the Android OS - get the "Sony Xperia" splash screen and then a black screen (with the backlight on).
At this point, I am still able to boot into recovery, but not the OS.
To restore things, I use the Sony flash tool to re-flash the stock ROM (android 5.1.1) and then re-try, flashing a different recovery.
I've tried twrp-3.4.0-1-amami.img, twrp-3.3.1-0-amami.img, twrp-3.2.3-1-amami.img
Thanks.
After trying a few recoveries, I found twrp-3.2.3 by mse1969 worked.
