Hi guys.
I have an situation here and would like to hear if any1 have any knowledge about it.
My LS980 has an bad Dock USB Jack flex cable. I know because i had another G2 to test it and this is
100% the problem. Now that i need to buy another flex cable i also need to know if the D802 GLOBAL
version of this cable will work on my LS980 version, this is because i also have an bad glass digitizer
and i have here an D802 Glass digitizer. The only difference that i can notice is the up side connector
of the digitizer like the pictures.
If anyone know if i can buy the D802 Flex Dock USB cable and make it work on my LS980 i will be
glad to hear about.
Thanks!
My Galaxy Nexus isn't charging or connecting to my computer. I've tried different USB ports, wall adapters, and USB cords and nothing. I don't really want to replace the charging port. What can I do?
Thanks in advance.

I accidentally put this in the wrong section! Thanks!
Check the charging port for Lent and stuff with a little pin or something..
That's what happened to me in the past
I cleaned it out and start to work again

Of what cujo said didn't work you have no option but to replace the port or buy an external battery charger.

In a pinch you can rig up a temporary charger using the POGO pins on the right side of the phone. Just wire the corresponding red/black wires from a cut up USB cable to the correct pins (you can find the pinouts online). The trick is getting the wires to stay on the pins - you can try packing tape. I know this is kind of a dirty solution, but it will work in an emergency until you can replace the usb port.

Can you link me to the part I need to replace! And a video of how? And how expensive is the part in question? My Galaxy Nexus isn't my main phone but I just wanted it working again.

Well, there is no guarantee that it is the USB board - but you can purchase one on ebay for under $10. The part includes a usb jack as well as a ribbon connector that connects the jack to the main board. There is, however, a chance that you have a faulty main board, in which case, replacing the USB port is not going to fix your problem but the only way to really test that is to buy the part and try it out.

That's for a Verizon Galaxy Nexus, I don't remember which one you said you had but you'll want to be sure to get the right one.

Are you using the original charger that came with the phone? It's the only thing i have luck with.

I ordered the new port! But I tried the pogo port charging and it didn't seem to work.
Hello,
I was thinking about using my LG G3 with MHL and OTG but i just found out that this device is using SlimPort and not MHL and from what I have seen its have only 5 pins and therefore its cant be used with an OTG cable at the same time (while the MHL port that support this feature has 11 pins) BUT when i looked into the micro usb port on the device with some light on it i saw that its a little dipper in the sides than it is in the middle and that in that dipper parts there is more pins SO I looked on port replacement pics and I saw that its have 11 pins that connects to the phone`s motherboard
so please if anyone can explain me what is those extra pins for and if there is any other cable that i can use?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone?
Hi,
I'm desperate, I tried everything on my ZF2!!! Since I upgraded to Android 6 theUSb interface has stopped to work. I mean: I'm not able to connect the phone to my PC: no ADB, no Asus Flash tool, no xFSTK nothing.
So I decided to downgrade it to Android 5 (also unlocked the bootloader) but didn't help. Of course I tried different cables/PC/OSs and I replaced the USB pcb on the bottom of the phone.
Can anyone address me to a solution? I'm just looking for a way to flash TWRP in order to install a custom ROM.
Thank you in advance
Does it connect in TWRP?

Thank you for your reply.
No, I never flashed the TWRP, I'm still with the stock recovery. I just unlocked the bootloader by the ASUS app.

have you inspected the connector to the motherboard side. also remove flex cable from the bottom side PCB and Motherboard side. inspect it if there is some broken connection point on flex cable.

swap pcb and flex with some working phone to figure out if there is any issue with motherboard, flex or PCB.

This is what I did. I upgraded (manually) to 6.0.1 few month ago and and when I discovered the USB problem, I used UL-Z00A-WW-52.20.40.196-user.zip to downgrade to 5.0 and unlock the bootloader by the app (now I have the white screen).
I also have a dead USB port problem. Mine bricked twice and was recovered using xfSTK and stock ww-2.20.40.198 firmware. Now I need to re-root, but the USB port can only charge (sometimes it wouldn't even charge) and no adb or anything else. My computer simply didn't see the phone. It's all stock, bootloader not yet unlocked. What else can I try before I order a replacement USB port board off ebay?

have you tried to disconnect sim flex connector ? lot of times bottom pcb is not the culprit. its either bad flex connector or faulty flex. also try to swap USB cable lot of times that is faulty too.

I reseated the sim flex at both ends and the cable is back. I'm rooted again. Thank you!
Try pushing down on the flex cable just below the sim2 slot.
It seems that these cables have got some weak connection at the bends which break very easily when replacing the usb board.
Also do you have any vibration issues?

Vibrator and speakers both not working when I had problems. After reseating the able they all work. Or do you mean if the phone suffered any outside vibration?

I was talking about the vibrator.
Do other usb options(otg etc) also work?
Good morning!
I just replaced the flex connector, easy and cheap (8 euros), and my phone back alive, ready to be rooted
Thanks to everyone
I have a perfectly working nexus 7, but the only issue is that the USB connector is broken. I was wondering if it would be possible to solder leads onto the micro USB pads or the pads that the micro usb connects to, and then solder a usb otg Y cable onto that? Im looking to set it up as a head unit while still retaining USB OTG support.

For charging only connect to pogo pins, the replacement USB board is easy to install and cheap, $20. Maybe off eBay, been awhile.
