I am getting an overnight drain of 15-20% with Wifi on
Its unrooted and on stock rom. I am not aiming to root the phone just now.
Mine is Rooted and installed a custom OOS rom. Still I get 10% battery drain overnight even with force doze.
My 2 years old LG G3 drains only 2% or 3% overnight. Same battery capacity.

Yeah, me 2 about 10%. I got everything on, wifi, Bluetooth for the smartwatch and GPS. Sometimes I read people have about 2 to 4 % drain. Even if I turn all the switches off I would not get that.
Also using forcedoze.

Yeah. Wifi and data is always on my device too.. But still 10% drain in sleep is nowhere near good. If somebody has any way to reduce this battery drain please post it here! :highfive:

Hi guys, I just got my galaxy note II for like 2 weeks ago. And i've noticed a problem about my phone.
My galaxy note II will drain the battery for like more than 20% ( 20%-25% ) while its in idle. Which means after i fully charged my phone, i unplugged the charger and i used it for awhile more like it was left 92% before i slept. Then the next day when i woke up i noticed that my phone's battery drained about 20++%, it became 79% (i slept for 8-9 hours). I didnt leave it with wifi on. I just left it with 3G & power saving on!!!! This is a serious problem, i mean how is it possible to drain for 20% just for around 9 hours of sleep.
And one more question, how long does your galaxy note II battery last after a full charge with you playing checking the phone for message once for almost every 20 mins?
Normally i woke up around 9am for work and by the time i reach home at night around 12am. It still has around 30% of battery. But today, this strange thing happened. I unplugged my phone around 9.30 am. Starting of the day was okay, it was normal. But right after it was reduced to 60%, the battery started to drain faster. By 8.30am it was already left 25%.
:crying:
GUYS HELP PLEASE!!! AS IM NEW HERE. REALLY REALLY NEED A SUGGESTION ABOUT WHAT TO DO TO MY PHONE.

Yes the battery does drain even as you sleep. Keeping 3G on actually drains more than Wifi. So if you really want to preserve your battery overnight, turn off your mobile data totally. It is somewhat an annoyance that you can't choose between 2G/3G like you do with iPhone. If you still want that connectivity, leave wifi on instead of mobile data.Give it a try for one night and see how it goes.
Are you using any power saving apps?

I just tried again last night and it drains from 100% to 81% from 8 hours of sleep? Is it really normal?
I am using this app callee "cpu spy". Over 8 hours of state time. Only 5 and a half hour my phone is actually in deep sleep. 200mhz for almost nearly 2 hours. And the rest go to 1000mhz and 1400mhz. Do you understand what it means? I dont. Can you please explain?
And im not using any battery saving app. Any suggestions?

Post some screenshots of your battery usage.
Strange, for me the battery is quite long lasting. What application is draining your battery?
Attached my screen shoot.
Sorry for the chinese menu.
Follow the link in my sig towards How to flash a custom rom (no i am not asking u to flash one). U will find one tab for useful links. That thread can help you debug your issue as well as suggest probable solutions.

You can change between 2g and 3g.
More settings > mobile network. GSM is 2g and wcdma is 3g.

Op have you installed viber by any chance? This app drained my battery quickly even when I am not using it.
Hi, I have bought a G Pad for my mother-in-law, and recently she started complaining on the battery life. Indeed I have noticed, that after fully charging and leaving the device idle it looses 40% of the battery over 12 hours. I have made a factory reset, but the battery has drained 12% in 12 hours with everything off and a few minutues of screen on time (only used to for the initial set up after the reset). Also I have the feeling that the drain increases with every hour.
Battery stats say that Android OS is the most heavy drainer. Do you have any suggestion how to fix this (besides trying a different ROM - i don't want to do this at the moment).
Thank you

Try to use wakelock detector and greenify to check and stop the process that could be causing this battery drain.

Do you have an SD card in it? Try taking it out and see if the battery drain goes away. A bad SD card will cause android to keep scanning the card...

I went to sleep with 100% and woke up with 93%. I left WiFi on, I'm sure that if I turned it off it would improve but I was curious how it would hold up.
Wondering if anyone has tips for improving standby time battery life.

Are you seriously thinking that 7% while you slept overnight is some kind of problem?
Arround 1-2% overnight(wifi on, but with "Keep wi-fi on during sleep" on Never)

Yes.
I can compare that to iPad mini and Windows Phone ( Nokia N925 and N520). 1-2 % with GMS/LTE on.
Same Here
Yes I am also facing the same problem. Terrible battery time. I charged my Tablet yesterday and pulled it out at 100% at 10pm. I put it on Airplane mode and went to sleep. When I woke up today at 6am the battery was showing 70%. It ate 30% at night doing what? I am very disappointed. On Kitkat 4.4.4 I never had such terrible battery performance.

Same here, on a fresh Lollipop install, wifi turned off during sleep, bluetooth always on, and with only a few apps downloaded. Last night I unplugged my tablet and it was still 100% this morning. Been like this since I flashed stock Lollipop after a full wipe.
On 4.4.4 with a lot more downloaded apps I was getting abysmal standby time. The confounding thing was, power use during standby would be fine for a couple days, then turn all to heck, like to 20% plus per night, wifi would turn on by itself during standby and stay on. When I cleared the caches it would go back to being OK for a couple days, then turn bad again. I had even turned off automatic syncing on every app that I was able to do so.
Couldn't figure out which app(s) were the culprit for the life of me. So now I am adding new potentially problematic app back on at a time to see if I can figure it out.
Here is what happened today. Turned off charging at 100% at 10:45pm and woke up at 9 am to 70% on airplane mode. Please tell me that others are facing the same problem!
That does seem pretty weird. This is my N7 since yesterday morning:
Thats not bad at all. I dont know why mine is doing this. What do you guys suggest i do?
I was on jellybean before lollipop and it had waaaayyy better battery life
Reading through some battery threads I was told that the "proper" way to check your overnight drain was to charge up to 100% and not touch it until the next morning. I tried this last night and WiFi drain was in the 30% range (I used my phone before taking the screenshot which is why it's at 22%) with a total drop of 7% (100-93% over 8 hours).
Does this seem high?
I've got WiFi, NFC, battery saver location, mobile data, and double tap to wake on. The phone is rooted and I'm using a custom kernel (but I'm pretty sure it happened with the stock kernel too). I also have an Android Wear watch attached all night. On AOSP ROMs on my OP3T overnight drain was around 2% if I started at 100% and WiFi was never more than maybe 6% of total drain. Again, I'm not asking how to fix this, I'm just wondering if this is something that others are experiencing.
Thanks!
Mine dropped 2% over four hours of sleep. I'll try with battery saver on.
Mine averages about 3% in 8hrs with wifi on, I'll post a screenshot tomorrow, on freedomos using simplegx kernel
My WiFi drain is very low during idle. Like most flagships of this era.
mine is as same as op, but last night i charged it upto 74 and slept and when i got up after 6 hrs or so it dropped 2 %, strange ... maybe it's the way the phone is charged and calibrated for dash charging
I'm loosing 4-5% in 8 hours.

Thanks for these screenshots. Obviously I don't have nearly the SOT that you do in my screenshot, but it looks like if our SOTs were the same you'd probably have similar WiFi percent usage.
Mine's been surprisingly bad - at least, worse than my Moto G5S, Galaxy S8+ or iPhone 8 Plus were. I'm losing like 5-7% every four hours, my battery drain while connected to wifi at work is way worse than either of the other phones mentioned too.
All in all it's kind of disappointing considering how good the OP5T is in literally every other regard.

We may have similar WiFi usage. But my drain is about .5% per hour, overnight. I don't consider that high, and battery consumption has to be attributed to something. Here is my current usage since yesterday's charge.
On 8.0 the WiFi drain % is even lower, but idle drain per hour is the same. So it doesn't really matter.
Very bad.. Battery go. Down quickly in night..
My wifi drain is also really bad on the latest 4.7.4
Hope they release a fix soon...
Edit... I did a fresh install with stock 4.7.4 and it isn't as bad but still is present. At least it's more tolerable.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
So I did another test last night (4.7.4 and SimpleGX kernel) and had 3% drain. With all the comments here I think the high percentage of WiFi is normal and probably not affecting battery life a lot. I am starting to think the kernel may be providing better results than stock 4.7.4 though since a lot of people are mentioning poor battery on 4.7.4.
I don't even know how long, all I can say is my battery drains 3% every 9 and a half hours. Both bluetooth and wifi was on. This is on the stock rom and kernal, not sure how you guys have such high battery drain... Are you guys sure it isn't another app hijacking your battery? Because from my experience the battery stats isn't always perfect. Sometimes I was told that it was my screen (on my old phone) in which it was actually a 3rd party app. After removing the app, my battery drain went a lot slower than usual.

Just tried that setting last night and it doesn't make much difference.
For all wondering I have an Android Wear device connected 24/7 and location set to battery saving. I also keep NFC and data on all night. I'm not using screen-off gestures though.
I wish it was only 7% or something like that on my OP5T.
I used to be one of you 3%-battery-"drain"-at-night-guys, until the official update to Oreo. Now it uses 36% in 6h38m, of which WiFi is reported being 29% (1044mah, despite 0m active and background usage reported). There is 2.8MB additional use according to the WiFi data usage report that was set to count from today, yet the numbers per app have decreased, so there goes reliability on that. I haven't added or removed any apps, only wiped cache after the update. On standby, it only takes 18 hours for it to drain, which used to be several days.
Another weird thing is that WiFi is terribly slow since the same update, but only on this device. (No numbers yet)
Right now my plan is to test all the mentioned related settings, as well as WiFi off, make screenshots after each nightly test, and finally do a complete wipe and perform the same tests with a minimum of apps, and then redo them again with my usual set of apps. It could still be one or more apps that misbehave on Oreo specifically I suppose, so if there's any indication for that, I will start eliminating apps one by one until I find the culprit.
When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Xiaomi Mi A3's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Every morning I check the battery & I get about 2-3% standby drain at max. So it's good enough I'd say.
I get a drain of 10-12% at night
3-4% drain every night even with airplane mode ON, I always get 0-1% drain with MIUI rom
~0.3% per hour when idle (wifi connected, 4G mobile network active)
Disable fingerprint - 1% or 0% at night

20%-30% battery drain in 10h-12h, all APP kill (wifi disconnected , 4G mobile network OFF)
when i try to see what app are doing that, no app appear. comes 100% to 72% and no app consuming battery
use 2 SIM on the phone, stock ROM (Android One)
Some idea to solve this battery drain ?
If your phone is draining more battery for no reason then try banging it at a solid wall, result will be no more battery drain (0%) and no need to charge phone again, feel free ? thank me later

It's good enough for me , at least 8-10% of drain is there.
Battery drain in note5 pro
There's no battery drain in Note 5 pro.
Sometimes 1% maybe.. sometimes 2% ... I sleep with data and many apps running in background.
I was thinking to buy miA3 but.. 4-5% battery drain is a huge deal?
However battery backuup in miA3 better than realme 3pro, realme5pro or maybe XT but standby drain of 3-4% is bad.

Blokada, Bitwarden, Slack, Telegram, FB Messenger, Google Fit, Pokemon GO, Gmail, Calendar.
