Hello everyone!
So, here's the story.
G3 put on subwoofer, falls down, gorilla glass screen cracked. Full working but cracked. So, new display+digitizer+frame, all already attached to itself.

Loot at the photos and the digitizer circuit. And then look at this:

Are you looking? The above is my old screen and the circuit of digitizer is the same as on pictures from link above. The bottom screen is the new one that came to me from China. Do you see difference?
Well... Though I like new things... Screen worked. I noticed an input lag, when I was fast typing on keyboard. When I typed a word really fast, the lag occurred and then a the word was fast written. Not important.
But after a few hours (like 16) digitizer stopped working at all. From its own. I just pulled the phone out of my pocket and couldn't unlock the screen. Touch was gone.
You, dear reader, you are smart. So you think it's probably a bad resistor like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_9QHXZnZ1g
No it isn't. I tried my old cracked screen and everything works there.
Question:
Do you think it was just a false component on circuit? It happened with this new (I just think it's newer) circuit, but also could happen on an old one. I just was unlucky.
Or is this new digitizer designed for some new versions of G3 phones? Mine has approximately 3 years.
When I'm gonna buy a new screen, should I be looking for digitizer as on my old screen? Is it even possible to buy them?
Sorry I made it so long. I know no one likes reading

I think there is something wrong with a connection or with my screen. I can see everything clearly, it's just that the whole thing has like a purple hue / green hue that streaks and changes, kind of like an aurora you see in the sky, when I nudge the top part of my phone (screen part). I took a screenshot and I examined it on my computer, and it shows a perfect picture with no purple. Therefore it has to be my screen.
Do you guys know what's wrong with my phone, and how I can fix it? I am very hand with soldering and such.
Looks like this (not my phone, but the artefacts are identical:

Might be the ribbon cable between the screen and keyboard parts of the phone. Especially your description of the colors changing when you nudge it.
where can i purchase one?
And does anyone have a link of a DZ teardown?
EDIT:http://tjworld.net/blog/htc-desire-z-tear-down
But I still don't know where to find the replacement cable.
I have the exact same issue with my phone.
Here is the cable on Amazon
I'm just about to buy one myself.

Yup. Or you can get a kit with all the required tools online at eBay, Amazon and other places for less than $10 (just did a search for "phone tools" at both those websites, and got plenty of hits). I personally haven't taken apart my Z. But having taken apart other electronics (like iPods), its handy to have the specific tools (such as the plastic tool in the teardown guide) and can result in less/no damage to the casing.
Ok here's the backstory.... The charging port broke loose of the mobo from my Inc so my buddy had a good working Inc with a cracked digitizer so I thought hey I'll just swap that out no big deal. Well did some research and watched some videos and tackled it. Everything went smoothly until after I put the battery in and fired it up...... Not good the screen comes on kind but it's this weird greenish color with 1 bright line at the very top of the screen. Now I've tried switching everything back and forth a few times and no go. Now I have two phones that don't work. Anyone else see this before?

Update,
Now I just turned it on again and the screen stays black. No more greenish screen.
So you took the screen off of yours and put it on your friends? Were they both the same screen type, ie amoled or slcd?
1. Look under the battery of both devices.
2. Below the bluetooth and FC icon you will see "ADR6300VW."
3. If you see a "3" at the end (ADR6300VW3) then it is SLCD. If you do not, then it is AMOLED.
Other than that mabey the ribbon wires got bent and broken, or mabey the wires are not pluged in just right.
Sorry I never responded to this post. I ended up picking up a rezound. They both were the amoled screens. They did look different from eachother when looking from the back side. I thought I was really gentle with the cables but maybe they are just way more fragile than I thought. I'm going to order a new screen and give it another shot. I just can't let my incredible go out like that! :beer:

Hi, I have a big problem with my desire!
I lent several months my old desire a family member .. It has not been very careful and had no protective case he does not like it .. The phone was still working when I was handed.. However, the fully plastic housing was very scratched and small pines broken.
So i order a housing from ebay. I followed this video on youtube to disassemble the phone : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXZqIjtFoAU&feature=relmfu
I assembled the phone later and I have a problem with the screen. I tried several times to reset the screen .. the screen is beautiful no scratched.
Here is my picture:

Hi,
I disassemble several times and everything seems normal. Except that the GPS connector is broken because its a very thin wire .. but I do not think it is connected!
The glass do not have to be broken, but as i said before this looks like faulty lcd or the connector. However i would say it's fault lcd, 'cos connector would rather give you a light gray screen.
Looks like it gets 'bloated'...
This is strange because the screen is in good condition and the connector too as everything is connected. So you think it is the lcd has a problem .. I disassemble again yesterday and no improvements. However, the volume buttons on the connector that is connected to a part of the motherboard's detached. Possible to fix?
Screen doesn't need to be broken to be fault.
If it was me - i would say the screen is broken and i would replace it as it looks so. But i can't promise that's it, sorry.
I'll wait in case , thanks for your time!
Hey all; I got a Nexus 7 this past December and everything was working great until yesterday.
I took it out of my school bag and when I pressed the wake button this happened:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now whenever I wake up my Nexus the same thing happens. Sometimes it goes back to normal after a few seconds, but it continually freezes or has random slow downs.
I reset the device and erased all my data and whatnot, but still the same has happened.
Any suggestions?
What ROM are you running, stock or custom? Try reflashing a ROM (let us know if you aren't familiar with that) in case something's corrupted. Hopefully it isn't something with hardware.
This should be a hardware failure.Take it to the service.
@Pandae: Everything was stock. @GeoVali99: Correct-o, sir!
Ended up being a hardware issue so I'm getting it repaired.
I appreciate the words though!
Hi!
I've got the same problem.
Can someone tell me how to fix that Problem by my self?
I have no guaranty left...
Thanks!

Not a big deal. The LCD is fine. What happened in my case when I got exactly the same screen is that the amber ribbon (LCD to motherboard) seated wrong, and I bent a pin on the motherboard connector out of shape. You open the back cover and reseat it, but make sure you do not damage the pins. In other words do it very gently, do not force anything, and monitor it all with the help of a magnifying glass.
Hi all, yesterday I replaced the digitizer on my son's s4 mini, first time I've attempted this, but seemed a fairly straightforward process, took the phone apart without issue, placed all the relevant parts into the new digitizer and reconnected everything, put the battery in and powered up the phone, and the screen seems corrupted, I've taken a picture to show the issue.
Any help that anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.

I wonder if a flex cable got partially torn in the process? I have never done such fine work, especially not to an S4 Mini, so I'm not aware of all the pitfalls.
Best of luck though!
Nothing that I could see, I've checked all connections and cables 3 times, and they all seem fine, I have sent the ebay seller that I brought it from as I fear the screen is faulty, but as yet no reply, thanks for your message ?
