Ok here's the backstory.... The charging port broke loose of the mobo from my Inc so my buddy had a good working Inc with a cracked digitizer so I thought hey I'll just swap that out no big deal. Well did some research and watched some videos and tackled it. Everything went smoothly until after I put the battery in and fired it up...... Not good the screen comes on kind but it's this weird greenish color with 1 bright line at the very top of the screen. Now I've tried switching everything back and forth a few times and no go. Now I have two phones that don't work. Anyone else see this before?

Update,
Now I just turned it on again and the screen stays black. No more greenish screen.
So you took the screen off of yours and put it on your friends? Were they both the same screen type, ie amoled or slcd?
1. Look under the battery of both devices.
2. Below the bluetooth and FC icon you will see "ADR6300VW."
3. If you see a "3" at the end (ADR6300VW3) then it is SLCD. If you do not, then it is AMOLED.
Other than that mabey the ribbon wires got bent and broken, or mabey the wires are not pluged in just right.
Sorry I never responded to this post. I ended up picking up a rezound. They both were the amoled screens. They did look different from eachother when looking from the back side. I thought I was really gentle with the cables but maybe they are just way more fragile than I thought. I'm going to order a new screen and give it another shot. I just can't let my incredible go out like that!

So, XDA I have an Incredible who's screen has gone AWOL and the phone seems to be stuck in a reboot loop. I have a video of the issue for more clarity.

I've tried taking the phone apart and everything appears to be fine in my eyes. I've attatched some pics I took while the phone was dismantled, maybe you guys can spot something I missed. Any help would be appreciated. The phone is out of warranty btw; I got it used.

might have jumped the gun ripping it all apart as i now need you to put it back together and get a flashlight led preferably what your going to do is shine a light into the lcd when you attempt to turn it back on to see if the screen turns on but the backlight doesnt also slcd or amoled?
if that fails i donno get a new one keep it in a drawer for parts or ebay it for parts...
Thanks I'll try that. As for the screen I'm really not sure if it's SLCD or AMOLED.
On the red part where the battery goes there is a gray label in the upper left corner of that label is ADR6300VW2 or vw3; vw2 is amoled vw3 is slcd. you have it that far apart you could try a new screen as for it bootlooping that could be caused by the screen or the phone could have a bad flash and a broken screen if the screen does come on with out the back light you will just barely be able to see it with a flash light shining into it. Then the solution is simply replace the back light or the whole screen it should then display and you can move onto the next step of recovering the flash from there.
Hum this sounds kinda like some of the symptoms of flashing the amoled ruu to a slcd incredible you could try to flash it to the correct one I don't know if you can use the windows tool from htc or you might have to blind hboot flash it.
I just bought an EVO 4G on Craigslist as a gift and as soon as I got home (45 minutes later) and inside, I noticed a very weird problem with the screen:

What the heck is this? I didn't notice it outside (where the transaction took place) or in my car. I can't not see it now...
I don't understand what I'm supposed to be looking at

Is this just what EVO screens look like? My Inspire sure never looked like that!
That is a problem with some evo screens. Mine looks the same. Something to do with the internals under the screen causing the whitout spots.

Thank you. Did it develop over time or did it always look like that?
This is a common problem and believe it's referred to as light leaking or something along those lines. Anyway, mine has the exact same two spots as do a lot of other people. Nothing you can do about it though and it's really not that big of a deal.
Yeah thats very common on evo 4g lcds,I dont think it develops so you dont have to worry about it getting worst...I have the same prob.with new lcd replacement.

Hello, I am facing a very frustrating evening with my beloved Epic 4G as the front half of the phone appears to not be getting power (i.e. no screen power/no LED when charging/nothing whatsoever). To top it off I have no backup, and I'm straight broke as can be. So I took the phone apart, and what happened is that the connection that goes between the back half of the phone and the front has simply snapped into two pieces. I've attached pics of what is broken and you can see my baby all disassembled as well (dang man this is not a very good situation). Bottom line is that my only option is to hopefully find this piece as the phone boots up fine, the keyboard lights up, and the phone even rings when called, etc... just no screen activity at all. I even Odin'd to stock w/o the screen working as the phone is perfectly fine except for the screen not turning on. I have confirmed in this video (Go to 4:05 mark in video to see the piece in 1 piece) that the piece I've shown as Broken is in fact supposed to be one piece, and given that everything else appears normal/functional I have no reason to believe that I have anything else wrong. Dang I love this phone and I need it to be working, so please someone tell me that they've got the hook up/connections to get this piece at a good price.

I take it you don't have sprints TEP? If you do have TEP I know some repair centers would fix it within a hour if they have the parts on hand.

i sympathize on your situation, also allow me to give you some advice, always make sure you have a soft cloth under the phone and you are not sitting on carpet. you can short out the phone. (static micro shocks)
I had downgraded back to KitKat and had it setup exactly like I wanted it and had been using it for a few weeks. All of a sudden my screen would become washed out. Kind of like it was stuck in reading mode or something like that. Sometimes it will correct itself on it's own or if I enable then disable grayscale mode. If that doesn't work, then I have to reboot. After being locked for a few minutes though, it gets washed out again. I decided to go back to Lollipop to see if that fixed it but it's still happening.
What could be causing it have washed out colors?
Can you screenshot what you're talking about? And why would you want to be on KitKat?
Do you have the adaptive display enable?, is the rgb sensor blocked?
John.
I was going to try and get a screenshot but it hasn't done it again. Anyway, I just traded it for a gaming laptop today so doesn't really matter much anymore. Thanks for the replies though!
So, I got my tablet back and I have some screenshots of the issue available. Hopefully you'll be able to see what I talking about.

I believe it's hardware related. I was holding it at the bottom right corner when it got the green tint. Grabbing the bottom right and top left corners and bending slightly on the back of it causes the green tint. Bending on the front reverses the green tint. Loose connection, a short, or failing screen altogether?
EDIT: I looked at those screenshots while my screen is normal and I can't see the green tint, so this is really weird!
Hello everyone!
So, here's the story.
G3 put on subwoofer, falls down, gorilla glass screen cracked. Full working but cracked. So, new display+digitizer+frame, all already attached to itself.
From here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-...el-frame-Full-Assembly-Tools/32440683620.html
Loot at the photos and the digitizer circuit. And then look at this:

Are you looking? The above is my old screen and the circuit of digitizer is the same as on pictures from link above. The bottom screen is the new one that came to me from China. Do you see difference?
Well... Though I like new things... Screen worked. I noticed an input lag, when I was fast typing on keyboard. When I typed a word really fast, the lag occurred and then a the word was fast written. Not important.
But after a few hours (like 16) digitizer stopped working at all. From its own. I just pulled the phone out of my pocket and couldn't unlock the screen. Touch was gone.
You, dear reader, you are smart. So you think it's probably a bad resistor like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_9QHXZnZ1g
No it isn't. I tried my old cracked screen and everything works there.
Question:
Do you think it was just a false component on circuit? It happened with this new (I just think it's newer) circuit, but also could happen on an old one. I just was unlucky.
Or is this new digitizer designed for some new versions of G3 phones? Mine has approximately 3 years.
When I'm gonna buy a new screen, should I be looking for digitizer as on my old screen? Is it even possible to buy them?
Sorry I made it so long. I know no one likes reading
