Question about swapping images on my Galaxy Tab S - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings I recently made a tablet upgrade to a Galaxy Tab S AT&T (Model SM-T807A)
My previous tablet was a Galaxy Tab 3 AT&T (Model SM-T217A) and I found a YouTube video and showed me how to root the Tab3.
Currently the only videos I can find for the Tab S are all for Models SM-T800, 805 and one that says for the 807T (T-Mobile model)
but nothing concrete for the 807A . So I had a thought but had no luck in finding this; Can I install the SM-T800 version on my 807A
and have it ignore the cellular portion and have it be seen as just a WiFi variant tablet? If that's not possible can I use the SM-T805 version
since the 805 has cellular tech in it and make it work on my 807A tablet? My ultimate goal is to get this tablet rooted like my old one.
Thx for taking time to read this.
Edit: I browsed through my other tablet and realized i had used KingRoot on it but it won't in stall on the Tab S

kingroot will install on the tab s if you first allow installation of 3rd party apps in settings then when installing click the small lettering to lower left on the this wont install little window , and choose install anyway.
Course I have no idea if it will work to root that specific tab even if you do install it because I have a SM T800

KingoApp root website

I am a paranoid person ...
A new user has posted a few times about a website that offers a download they say can root many devices including the new Sprint Tab SM-T217S.
The website is out of China and it is a new site. The company behind it is Kingsoft Technology Ltd. Their website has a few translation issues but it is mostly readable.
The site claims their software has been used by millions of users on hundreds of thousands of devices.
Perhaps they do exactly what they say they do, I don't know.
What seems more likely is their software may install something insidious on the Windows machine and the android device you are rooting.
I may test the software on a fresh Windows machine but I am no expert.
Does anyone have experience with KingApp? If I am way off base here please post that here.

There was some posts in another thread about this when I was searching how to root my Sprint Tab 3. A couple people checked the code they could and could not find any issues and several had rooted their devices with no issues.
I rooted mine last night this way as well with no issues at all. I scanned my PC prior to installing the app and right after installing the app as well as after uninstalling the app and nothing came up at all in the scans at all. My Tab rooted with no issues and is running great. Installed Greenify and Titanium Backup and got both set-up and some of the bloat apps frozen and have had no issues and the Tab 3 is running great.
Thanks for the info. I am not really concerned about the rooting. I will copy the Data and System partitions from the Tab before and after so I can compare.
I primarily worry about the software installing a root-kit or something on the PC. I still have not had a chance to mess with it, maybe this weekend. I think I will try running it in a Virtual windows install.

Its asking to enable USB debugging in developer options which I don't see in the settings on the tab. I've rooted several phones so I'm not new, But developer options is not where I would expect it to be. I'm guessing job security cause them to move it. Maybe?

As far as I can tell the KingoApp website root tool did not infect my computer and it flawlessly rooted the 2 Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (sprint SM-T217S) tablets I have.
I hate to admit that I sometimes get things from torrent sites but doing so has made me fairly adept at spotting rootkits and viri.
Of course using a virtual machine would be the preferred method to use something like this. I am paranoid of the source....

KingoApp rooted my Galaxy Tab 3 7,0 AT&T SM-T217A version as well
I am new to Galaxy Tab 3, but not rooting and flashing. I rooted also using that sight and all seems well.
Are there any roms for this version of the tab 3..?

[Q] SM-T2105GY (Tab3 Kids) Rom Search

So there are a lot of roms out there, but the model I have for my step-daughter is SM-T2105GY (Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids Edition). Since the device only has 8GB (much is already used), she downloads just a few games, and it fills. Once filled, Google apps start failing, and Wifi drops. It's a pain to keep wiping it. So, I want to put a CM11 rom on it, and just turn it into a normal tablet.
When I look at the roms available, they break them down by serial. I see listings for T210 and T210R, but nothing for T2105. Will the T210 roms work on the Kids tab?
Thank you.
As I have seen this question now posted numerous times, and finally read that the T210 roms work fine in the T2105. So for those who search, and come across this, I didn't want it to go unanswered.

[Q] Trying to find out which is best for what i need

So i'm trying to figure out what would work the best for my 10.5 tablet,
Main thing's i'm wanting is it Rooted, Basic enough design that work's pretty good, and has the Samsung app, not sure if i can get this off google play or not but. will obviously find that out soon. lol
but yeah, if anyone can give me their suggestion's for what i'm after (Might be looking for better performance as well) that would be awesome.

I think you would get a more valuable response if you stated why you want root. I've just upgraded to a Tab S from a rooted Nexus 10 and so far have not found a "must have" reason to root and loose my warranty. That does not mean I'll never root though. I've already replaced the launcher with Nova launcher and changed the icons with an icon pack but neither required root. The one root apps I miss are Viper4Android and GMD Gestures but Nova Launcher provides an acceptable alternative to GMD for now.
So what do you require root for?

Im mainly wanting it for a couple of apps that use it, one for modding a game, another for moving apps to sd, full files and all not just a 16th of the app. Just tried an app called kingroot but unfortunately it didnt work.

Sometimes it takes more than once. Did you let it reboot and then continue?
Yes and unfortunately it didn't want to work.

TAB S2 and Gear S2

I was told that the gear S2 is not compatible with the Tab S2, has anyone tested it, and can confirm this is true.
Update.
I have tested this and can confirm it does not work, not sure of the reason behind it.
That's odd... my gear live works just fine with it... I'm curious though why you would want it synced to your tablet and not your phone though?
I have Galaxy Tab S2 LTE and it's not compatible. Main issue is the Gear Manager app cannot load.

I have the international Galaxy Tab S2 (SM-T815) with voice capability, and it really irritates me that the Gear S2 is incompatible with it. It would be nice to use the watch and tablet together, instead of needing a phone simply to install Gear Manager. I suppose you can sideload the Gear Manager apk on the tablet, but it's inconvenient.

Side upload is not possible, it won't detect the watch, I have tried it at the samsung shop.
I had a S4 mini at that time with android 4.2 which you need 4.3 and above to work, thats why I tried to pair it with the tablet (Tab S2 SM-T715), now I have a V10 which should work, just waiting for the rose gold version of the classic, since the 3G version isn't available in my country.
Hello I have a Verizon tab s2 I sure no root at all. I have the gear s2 would love to get gear app to work. I can't edit buildprop.. maybe someone working on the gear app it self to help with this or am I out of luck......thanks
Yep Gear Manager - typical Samsung stupidity.
Now it's possible with samsung flow

Just need to change the device fingerprint, it should be fine.
MagiskHide Props Config v4.0.2 <-- Use that, switch your device to something that is compatible, install the required app. You may have to wipe cache / data to the play store, first.

ROM recommendation please

Hi there
I recently bought one of these from eBay, seems to work well enough, but infuriatingly, it won't update higher than Android 4.1.2. I'm sure OTA updates are supposed to go up to 4.4.2, but perhaps Samsung have stopped supplying it now?
I managed to find and sideload Google Play Movies and Amazon Prime Video so that my daughter (9 y.o.) can watch some of her vids, but can't find an old version of Disney+ that'll work (KitKat is as far back as I can get). The YouTube app doesn't work, though YT itself can be watched through Chrome.
Is the KK update available and easily installable without rooting? Or will I need to flash a new ROM? If the latter, any recommendation for one that is stable and still has Stylus support, please? I've not done any flashing since I owned a Windows Mobile device back in the mid 00s, when XDA really meant XDA!
Same question here.
What's the best stable ROM for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet N5110 in 2022-23? Kindly guide how to update it.
My device is running on Kitkat since then, but I have used the device very seldom. Its almost brand new (). Now I intend to use for Office files, PDF reading & annotations and YouTube. Kindly someone guide what to do.
