I use Sing! Karoke for listening to songs, but there is a major flaw on the Fire Phone. When you play a song, it'll play for half a second, and then stop. This way there is literally no way to listen to any songs on this app. I remember this used to happen in the Facebook app, that a video just plays for half a second and then stops. Is there any fix for this? I have a rooted Fire Phone, so is there a way to work around it? I would appreciate your help! I am currently on Stock Fire OS 4.6.6.1. I dont want to use CM 11 because I use the Fire Phone as camera as well.

So If I am running pandora or tune in radio, the music will keep playing when I 'back' out of the app and am navigating around the fire tv, or even when I enter xbmc. When I start watching a movie in xbmc, the music also keeps playing until I back out of spmc and hit pause.
Is there a better way to handle this? Obviously I like the music playing when navigating, but ideally, if I play anything in spmc it should stop that other app...
Also, are the amazon/android apps always running in the background even though they have been 'closed' or do they shut down eventually if unused?
I have a problem that is really bugging me and has been happening ever since I loaded candy 5.1.1 onto kindle fire.
Whenever I am playing netflix, youtube, etc. if the screen goes to sleep, I have to reset the kindle for the videos to play. Is there a way to fix this or is there a rom that has it fixed already?
Hi,
I have a version 1 Fire TV with 5.0.5 on it that is not rooted. I'm not sure if this is a new issue with the software update but I don't remember it happening before and now it happens frequently.
I have Spotify sideloaded on the FireTV. Now, when I hit play, regardless of the app I am in or even if on the Home page, Spotify begins to play.
Firestarter won't kill the Spotify app when it is not on top, so this problem is a bit annoying when in other apps that I click play on to launch a media file.
Has anyone else seen this? Can anyone confirm this is a new issue with the new firmware? Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks,
Mine would resume play when I press the Play button regardless of what screen I'm in even after Spotify had been forced quit. I just deleted the app altogether. Not worth the trouble.
There is a new Spotify app for the for the Fire TV. Full app, not Connect. Works really well.

Click to collapse
If someone could pull the apk please? Would like to try it on Android TV.
I'm on a new Fire TV running 5.2.4.0
I've noticed that about half the time if I'm watching something in one program (channel... whatever) and hit the home button, I can still hear the video playing even though I'm on the home screen. It's as if the program is still running in the background somehow.
I'm coming from a roku so am new to fire tv. I'm wondering if there's a more appropriate way on the fire tv to quit a program??
Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.
I always just hit the back button to back out of the app...
Pressing home is not supposed to quite the app. This is the expected behavior on all Android devices, not just the Fire TV, so that you can jump in and out of multiple apps without losing your place. If you want to quit an app, you need to either use the app's built in quit/exit option (if it has one) or go into the Fire TV's settings menu and force quit an app from list of installed apps.
Audio from an app continuing to play while you're on the Fire TV home screen is also the intended behavior. This is so you can start music, like in the Amazon Music app, Spotify, or Pandora, and do something else on the Fire TV while the music is still playing. If audio is playing while you're on the home screen, you should be able to press play/pause/fast forward/rewind to control the audio, even though the app is not in the foreground.
HI,
I've been streaming pandora stations using Alexa on firestick with no problems until last week.
From one moment to another, Alexa says shes not able to reproduce my stations.
However, if I factory reset de stick, she starts to play normally again until I turn off the stick... after that, the problem gets back.
I'm in Colombia and I know Pandora is not supposed to work here. But it did work for quite a long time and I'm still trying to figure out what's going on.
Any Ideas of what could be causing this behaviour?
Thanks.
