Go back into Settings > Apps > Files and go into Storage within the Files App and clear the data and cache and see if that helps.

No. The method I mentioned will only wipe the Files App data and cache (Hence from Settings > Apps > Files > Storage). This is not a global wiping of data and cache of your entire device (this would be the last resort).
I had the same annoying problem. I finally tracked the issue to another app called 'Box' which is a cloud storage app. Once I uninstalled "Box" the Files app worked again. I located an earlier version of the Box app (v.3.7.5) and it seems to work properly now.
The was incredibly annoying to track this problem down. I hope this helps my fellow OP3 owners...

So I wiped data, wiped cache and wiped dalvik(sp). But whenever I reinstall my rom, it automatically installs the same apps. Like the same games and stuff. I've uninstalled them, even tried file explorer and going into the sdcard and deleting the folders of said apps. I'm guessing its the google sync? How do I manage the items my google account syncs? Or is there an app to do this stuff?
Thanks

I think it might be Settings -> Privacy -> Automatic Restore (uncheck it)
I think if you uncheck that, Google will remember it and not restore them next time
Not 100% sure about that though
Edit: actually, isn't it an option during the intial set up for the phone (ROM)?

I know when you're flashing Gapps for CyanogenMod, you have the chance to disable the restore functionality but it's somewhat of a hidden feature. The time you can disable this feature is by clicking on the Menu button where you are asked to enter your Gmail account/password. I really think that setting should be configured as disabled by default, but whatever. Hope that helps.

I ran into the same issue. It IS the google sync and there is NO WAY to manage that. If you uninstall something from the market it has to wait for the next google sync(which times I find varies) before not re-appearing after a wipe. The only way I know of to stop this from happening is to not sign into your google account when testing a rom.

Hello people!
I am having problem with my HTC One V. My phone was working fine but all of a sudden it's gallery is showing "No photos or Videos found" and the Music player is also not scanning any music files. But the fiiles are shown in the ES file explorer.
My phone is not rooted, and neither did I install any app recently. Ya but connected my phone to my laptop.
This problem has occured quite a few times earlier also, but used to rectify on its own in a day. But now it is pissing me off, it's been a week.
Tried restarting, removing the storage card etc. But won't help.
Please help!

No, it won't delete your files... it just cleared your data/thumbnails and rebuild them. I think this will help your music player too. You can do the same for Music player - settings - apps - all - music - clear data

Yep, everything is on the ad card. I can access it from the file explorer.
I am wondering if I should backup my data and then format my phone.
It is showing up one more problem, I cannot download a single app from the play store. It shows downloading, and downloading and nothing moves on.
EDIT: If I format my phone, I can download all my paid apps again because they are linked to ny google account, right ?
I once had the exact problem ..but Im not able to remember because I'm becoming old ......
This may work
Move all your stuff on your sd card to your pc
Format your sd card and put em back again .....
Maybe the problem is with the sd card
Just WAIT FOR A OTA UPDATE it will fix the bug ,I had that problem too

And what about the data in apps, such as in Notes Lite I have a number of important notes, and it wont even perform a backup
Then don't do a reset just wait until it gets solved by itself ...but if that didn't work ....reset
If u don't have patience do this...move all the data to the pc as in images and all....reboot phone browse gallery
So that the cache is built
Then.move the images back ,reboot browse and try...

For some reason I keep getting a warning from watchdog lite that Android Media process is using 20.3% cpu and Android keyboard is using 20% cpu. Please help.
Bump
This is generally caused by media becoming corrupted. Browse through any photos or videos you have and see if anything appears that way. Might be pixelated or picture may be all black. Delete any corrupted pictures and see if that corrects the problem.
Also, if possible post a logcat. This well help better to determine the cause of the keyboard as well as if the above doesn't correct the first part of your problem.

I have deleted all photos in the gallery yet it still uses a lot of CPU. How do you post a logcat?
As far as the media problem try this:
1. Go to Settings > Apps > All
2. Locate and select "Media Storage"
3. Select Force Close
4. Select Clear Data
5. Repeat Steps 1-4 for the app: Android Keyboard (AOSP)
6. Reboot your phone
Note: The above clears settings for the keyboard. If you have modified these settings, go back to Settings > Language and Input to re-modify those settings back to how you like after performing the above steps.
You'll notice some high CPU for these processes while they rebuild their databases, but after a while you should see them go down to normal usage.
What this does is clears the database for your media. When Media Storage encounters something corrupt it tries to endlessly rebuild the database. Since you cleared your media, let it rebuild the database from scratch and hopefully it won't encounter any issues.
how to install and save logcats:
---------------------------------
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jtb.alogcat&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
Installing this is a little tricky. You will need a root explorer or you won't be able to see logs. Steps below:
1. Install from play store
2. Open root explorer and browse to your system root (not ur SD card, but actual system root.)
3.) go to /data/app and cut org.jtb.alogcat-1.apk
4.) go back to system root and now browse to: /system/app
5.) paste the file.
6.) set permissions to 0644 (-rw-r--r--)
7.) restart your phone.
Note: make sure you move or cut the file so that you don't have duplicate apps. If you do happen to copy, go back to /data/app after you have it copied and delete the original.
This app has to be a system app to function in 4.2.x android systems. The above process converts it to a system app.
Open alogcat from your appdrawer and press menu.
Select save. should save to your internal storage under alogcat/whateveryourlognameis.txt
Upload your logcat here and I'll review it.

No. The problem is probably that you have some files your media scanner doesn't like and it hangs. Usually a format fixes this, unless you can find the file causing the issue.
I'm sure bwolf is probably correct but I've used rescan media when using certain ROMs ported from Verizon and it worked for me. It stops the media scanner and quickly scans. I don't believe I have any bad files so it may be a different problem altogether but maybe it is worth a try. I can't remember but I think its free.

Wasn't suggesting not to try it. Actually, the OP should definitely give it a try before formatting.
Sorry bwolf didn't mean to imply anything. Actually a full wipe of the internal SD cleared up other issues I've had with some ports and could've helped with the media scanner too but I never checked that part specifically.. If you decide to try a wipe, OP, don't forget to back up all your pics and vids if they are on internal SD and also copy any nandroid backups you want and titanium back up folder to external SD. You can then restore apps using TB from there. Just change folder location in prefrences. If you restore a nandroid backup it could also restore any issues.

Did not work. I pressed "Disable media scanner" and 3 minutes after that watchdog lite warns me that android media process is hogging CPU.
Remove all files from your sd card and then format it. It's also completely normal for media scanner service to run anytime you use it, especially during initial boot. I always stop the process after a boot, otherwise it'll run for 5-10 minutes nonstop and keep my cpu at max. It is suppose to stop eventually though.

Try deleting cache and data from google search app, reboot and set up assistant again. It worked for me.
Hi guys ,
This problem that u have can occur if the Google app is not installed as a system app .
So to fix this ,follow the next few steps -
1) Convert Google app into system app using apps like Titanium backup or anything of your preference.
2) Using any root Explorer navigate to Root > system > app and search for an app named similar to 'googlesearchbox' and cut the app from this folder.
3) Now Navigate to Root > system > priv-app and paste the app.
4) Finally Reboot and now the problem will be gone

I just installed to system/priv-app and after reboot Google gave me the option to set my voice model.
So the problem was that I hadn't installed to system/priv-app but installed it into system/app. So, if you have this problem with the greyed out voice model option in Google app you have to:
1. Copy (don't cut) the 'Google' app folder:
1.1. If you have it as a system app and you still see greyed out the voice model option.- from root/system/app to root/system/priv-app
1.2. If you don't have it as a system app.- from root/data/app to root/system/priv-app
2. Reboot
Thank you @Vaibhav Kanna for taking the time to explain and thanks to everyone that helped in this thread.

Just to make it simple, flashing mini or micro gapps instead of Pico will install Google as system app by default.
Much easier

I just installed to system/priv-app and after reboot Google gave me the option to set my voice model.
So the problem was that I hadn't installed to system/priv-app but installed it into system/app. So, if you have this problem with the greyed out voice model option in Google app you have to:
1. Copy (don't cut) the 'Google' app folder:
1.1. If you have it as a system app and you still see greyed out the voice model option.- from root/system/app to root/system/priv-app
1.2. If you don't have it as a system app.- from root/data/app to root/system/priv-app

Do you only need to move the Google app folder to system/priv-app or also the Google assistant app folder?

Are those apps in different folders? I thought they were the same app, because Assistant is integrsted into Google app? Anyways, the folder you are looking for is 'com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox'

Normally they aren't, it was my mistake. I installed the Google app and Google assistant app separately as I didn't know Google assistant could be activated via the Google search app. I've always installed gapps Pico for years so I was clearly not up to date with how the Google search app worked. Flashed the Nano package so it's a system app by default.
Now I'm trying to find a way to use "Hey Google" instead of "Ok Google"
If you're using pico gapps then install nano and it will work, did for me.
I transferred Google app to /system/priv-app and it works like a charm
Thanks @Vaibhav Kanna
Thanks @Vaibhav Kanna The easiest fix for me was to flash Nano Gapps instead of my Pico Gapps....
BTW @Avalon, Assistant now responds to "Hey Google" too.

Few questions regarding that app. I have an old OP6 and just got OP11 and used Google copy content from the old phone but that process simply will install the same apps on a new phone but will not copy over those apps' settings and data.
My question is if the Clone Phone app will copy those settings and app data or not? Also, can I clone only selected apps something similar to clone using the Titanium Backup app?
The oneplus clone app Copy only the apks not the app setings or app data
What the clone app can copy is the phone settings

Thanks for the prompt response. So simple it is almost redundant app compare with the initial copying process when the phone is set up for the first time.

This feature was never meant to clone app with settings in the first place so you could move apps from phone to phone.
For this you have Titanium Backup, Swift Backup etc.
Thanks for the clarification. I see that Swift Backup is currently the way to go.

Oneplus had their own stock transfer tools from one phone to another - maybe this will move your apps with data/settings included.
Cant remember the name because I disabled most of them by they should be included in the initial phone set up wizard or as a bundled app or avaiable from the Google Playstore from Oneplus.
Clone App is mostly for cloning apps like Whatsapp etc.
It does clone data but is very limited, meaning only compatible with a few apps like whatsapp. You will be informed before starting which data can be cloned which can't.
It is still useful in some ways, at least it is very fast (make use of wifi to wifi transfer)

The Clone Phone app copies everything. It's actually the only solution without rooting to do so.

But the above responses state that it doesn't - just grabbing plane apks without the data or external data folders.

I've copied over a fifty apps along with their data using this app. No idea what people are talking about - no one has provided a single proof/example.

This is outright false.

I think I will check it on my own what can be done with it.
