Bluetooth input changing - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm thinking of purchasing a satechi Bluetooth media button to control me M9 while in the car.

The device itself isn't programmable, but I am wandering if it is possible to change how the handset responds to the various button presses. I have no use for the volume buttons in the car, but could really use an answer and hang up call button.
Is there any way I can change how the phone responds to those buttons so they can answer calls instead?
Otherwise, does anybody know of a similar device that will perform the functions I require? Mainly skip forward/backwards, pause/play and answer calls.

Tweak request- Mute button

Tweak request-
-Enabling the mute button on the back of the phone when you are on a BT headset or just using the handset so you don't have to mess with the screen.
-A step further: Allow you to remap the button during different situations.
Example-
While not on a call you could remap it to something like voice command or live search (or anything else you wanted)
I accidentally hit that button alot when talking with the phone held to my ear. Launching programs would be weird too as its on the back. I'm sure it can and will be done though.

Click to collapse
I'm assuming that no one has come up with anything considering how old this thread is. I'm looking for the same exact thing. This would be great when using my hands-free car stereo that doesn't provide a mute button. Bump!
Either you guys haven't tried Rhodium Keyboard Controller yet, or that's not what you're looking for.
It lets you remap all hardware keys, including the mute button.

How to change the function of headset buttons?

Is there a way of making the desire compatible with iPhone or other headsets? i.e. skipping tracks etc. When I double click the play/pause button on any of my headsets it calls the most recent person in my call history!
Surely there is a way of setting the function of each button somehow?
Anybody have any clues?

[Q] disable the volume button, except during calls

I keep changing the volume of the device just by holding it.
My fingers seems to rest on the volume button(s). Both when I hold the Desire HD
In portrait and landscape mood.
Really annoying
Is there a way to disable the physical volume button and use a software dito.
For all sound except during calls, then those physical buttons might come handy.
I have managed to turn of the Mic on a X10 Mini, but didn't believe I would have problems with a full size mobile...

I'm also interested in this. Google shows it's been done on other devices so it should be possible. Unfortunately I'm not clever enough to do it but someone out there must be.
Heck I'd even live with it being disabled during calls assuming I'd pre set it at an adequate level.
I had the same issue!
Check out Volume Control+ on the Android Marketplace. You can set the volumes for each program individually and lock the volume rocker outside of calls or videos; whatever you like.
It's not perfect; the rocker will still vibrate when you press it if it's locked. The volume won't change though. It's definitely good enough!

how to change bluetooth commands?

Is there a way to change how bluetooth respond to various button commands from the headset?
For example, a short press results in the phone redialing the last number called, I would like to change that to bring up a voice search app.
I think a long press would already do this, unfortunately the bluetooth chatterbox I use on my motorcycle does not allow a long press.

I've searched and searched but still can't find an answer.
Any thoughts anyone?
There are no known ways that I could find to remap these, however there are apps that react differently to Bluetooth presses. Try Top Voice Control and there are several other apps that add voice searches.

Headset button function

Hi,
I use the headset button to control my music. From what I have figured out, one press pauses/plays music... two fast presses skips the track... I have tried this, and it works. But sometimes when I double tap the button, it starts ringing the last person I called Can I turn this off? This is really annoying, I seriously do not see why anyone would want this feature.
Iv'e tried one of those headset button apps, and wasn't very impressed, It only worked half of the time.
I mainly just want to stop the button calling people
Anyone any idea?
Thanks.
If you're using PowerAMP try turning on the 'High Priority' headset button handler. If that doesn't work or you have any other music player there's a free app called 'JAYS Headset Control' (works for any headset not just JAYS). Also has a lot of customisation you can do to your headset button actions .
