[Q] Tasker - enable/disable screen always on? - Huawei Watch

Hi all,
I´ve just started using my watch in the "Screen always on mode" when I leave the house, but it´s annoying having to go into the watch and enable/disable it every time.
Is there a way to do this automaticly, by using tasker or something?
Example 1: if no WIFI = Screen always on.
Example 2: If charging = Screen always off.
Thanks in advance for any responces.

[Q] display sleep?????

does anyone know if I can turn off the display sleep?
the reason I ask is this, when I use my sling box app the screen times out. I have it set to ten minutes, so at 10 minutes it turns off.
I use my phone at work to watch tv, I have the mhl adapter with charger plugged in so it is not like I am chewing up battery.
when using netflix it seems to be fine, as is it does not turn off.
Is this something that can be controlled by the phone or is it a slingbox app problem?
thanks all
Yes - you can go into settings and set stay awake while charging (developer options).
However, I noticed that in the display settings there is not a choice for "No Timeout", which is weird.
So here is the method I use and would recommend.
Install the Quick Profiles App
Setup a profile for "Always On" and make sure the screen timeout is never timeout
If you like the app the pro version lets you have custom icons and is .99, i've upgraded and found it to be really nice

[Q] Moto 360 [5.1.1] Stay Awake While Charging...

Can't find another question like this one... so here goes:
Just got a Moto 360 for 149.99 USD and its great so far.
Did that force update to 5.1.1, this one worked for me: https://www.reddit.com/r/moto360/comments/3ahj1l/a_surefire_way_to_force_the_511_update/
Now I look into turning off the screen when its charging, only to run into a very strange issue...
In the developer options, which you can enable using 10 taps on the build number in about, there are two options:
1) stay awake while charging
2) burn-in protection
Burn-in protection will NOT save the check when your restart, so in essence, is useless.
However I found that using stay awake while charging DOES indeed turn off the screen, but here's the catch: you have to set it to ENABLED.
Don't believe I have ever seen a setting on android that required it to be on, to be off...
But hey, it does work, on mine at least.
Also the whole "just hit the button to make the screen go off" ONLY works in Theater Mode! And I personally dont like pushing a button to check the time.
If Theater Mode is off, it will just brighten the screen for around 2 seconds, then dim again.
Here's my question, what does that burn-in protection do anyways? Just pixel shift over time? Why can't it be enabled?
Hope this helps some people!
that setting does nothing for me
the screen stays awake regardless of ENABLED or DISABLED
funny how motorola hasn't fixed this yet
just put watch in "Theater mode" before charging
and it would switch the screen off on charger too

It started on mine, in the dock. Every few minutes everything on the display jumps in size from small to large and vice visa
The staying awake feature is backwards. Crazy
Sent by entanglement.
I restarted mine after setting to enabled, also ambient / theater mode are both off.
Hi,
as ShadowVlican wrote: just enable the theater mode to switch the screen off during charging. It is also important, the you undo any changes you did in the developer menu ("stay awake while charging" and the "burn in protection" as well).

Yeah, no. My screen turns off for 10 seconds then just becomes dim black with backlight again.
Is there no damn working solution?!

Disable tilt to sleep

Hello guys,
i know there's a way to disable tilt to wake gestures from the watch settings, but is there a way to keep the watch on and also disable the "tilt to sleep" gesture ?
thanks
There is also a way to set screen always ON on watch setting
That's not the same thing. Always on screen is Active even if backlight is off. I want both active at same time ! If i tilt the Watch down, the backlight goes off and any sideloaded app open on Watch get closed.
what do you want ? screen ON with backlight ? without backlight ? active ? not active ?
if you add theater mode (double button click) screen keep ON and not active.
for always screen ON and backlight ON there are some app to keep backlight but battery last 5 hours....

Yep, i want screen on and backlight on as i am testing a sideloaded app, i dont care about battery.
Which app ? I don't want to root my Watch
Some app like :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.instext.lightr
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phonephreak.extendedlight
Did you ever find something to achieve this? It seems there needs to be a way to disable the action of tilting backwards/down from triggering ambient mode. That StayLit appears to only be for when the watch is still facing you. Ambient still gets triggered in alternate directions.
EDIT: I just realized "Infinity" in StayLit did what I needed. The + didn't work so I thought it wasn't working at all.

Night Mode for Always on Display

Can anyone tell me if there is a built-in "night mode" on the 2XL? Coming from an S7 Edge there was an option in the settings that at a preset time the always on display would switch to a very minimal display that was only across one edge of the screen, it made for a nice alarm clock without being too bright overnight, then at a preset time it would revert to its normal settings of a large clock, displaying notifications, calendar etc.
I know I could use something like Alarm Clock Plus, but am trying to avoid having to install an app if there is built in functionality to do the same thing.
Thanks.
no
Short and sweet. Thanks. There are definitely a couple things Google could learn from Samsung on just small things like that though.
yep. but in the dark the ambient display is not bright so dont be afraid of burning your eyes.
The closest thing I have to what you are asking is using Tasker to turn off AOD when DND is enabled.
I have a profile to enable DND overnight, which in turn disables AOD.

That's not a bad idea, I paid for Tasker long ago (run it on my Nexus 7 in the car) so it would just be a case of setting it up on the Pixel.
There is a clock screensaver for when phone is plugged. I don't use always on display but want to be able to see clock without touching phone. You can adjust tue brightness of it via nightmode switch. Under display - screensaver h clock ...

In case you were wanting to actually implement this, I double checked how I did it, and it's with the paid plugin "AutoTools".
I turn the AOD on when I'm connected to BT in my car since it's on a mount and also off at 10pm. If the task runs when your screen is off you do need to turn your screen on for it to take effect. So I check if my screen is off. If it is I have it turn on and off briefly.
trigger always on using tasker auto tools
New Task
Plugin -> Autotools -> Secure Settings
Configure
Custom Setting
Setting Type = "Secure"
Name = "doze_always_on"
Input Type = "Int"
Value = "0" OFF/ "1" ON
I've done some testing and I can't tell if it even works...not sure if a reboot is required or what each time...maybe someone else can add to this.
The below article might be fine for a stock Rom, but doesn't seem to work on Nitrogen with a kernel/magisk.
You need to have ambient brightness turned on though, otherwise, the default values are used and these overrides don't work.

If you hit the battery saver before you go to bed that will deactivate always on.
Turn battery saver off in the morning and always on will be back on.
Should solve your problem!
Or just flip the screen over. That deactivates it as well.
