[Q] Odin restore

When making a flashable .tar file for odin, if i wanted to make a factory restore file, what images should i use from the factory image? do i need to use everything, boot, bootloader, both radios, recovery, system and userdata? or can i leave some stuff out? Or am I completely wrong all together?

[Q] why doesnt odin wipe?

I always thought the purpose of odin was to completely wipe the internal storage back to stock. recovery, rom, data and all. Yet when i odin'ed back to stock-rooted and the rom went back to stock as well as recovery but all my apps were still there. wasnt a problem i just factory reset in stock recovery then downloaded goo manger and FrostyJB.
Did something go wrong for me or is this normal?
Odin only wipe system files. You manually habe to factory reset it inorder to wipe old data.

Flash stock rom.
Then go into recovery and do a factory reset and cache wipe.

When you say stock you're sure this time it's a note 2 rom right? Just mention which stock rom you're trying to flash. Your best bet is to get into recovery, do a factory reset, format, wipe dalvic cache then go into download mode and flash stock rom through Odin from your PC.

Have you used pit ??
there is no meaning to use bootloader,Phone,CSC separately if your ROM consist it on single ROM file
- First flash pit only
-Then flash stock ROM with pit

Sir ketan,
I have done that now but still unknown csc. Very laggy. Asleep when lockscreen and no bluetooth.
It seem like it always remember a certain settings because everytime I flash stock rom from ur guide and also from sam firmware it always default to select language in united kingdom always unknown csc and my contacts automatically appears.
I have tried pda flash and also with pit I also tried flashing csc and remve btery 30sec and hold batery 30sec still same problem.
Hope you can bear with me sir and I hope we can still fix this
Try one thing
Flash custom recovery like philz
Flash this wipe tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983489
Then wipe with that, something not reseting device.
First try with super wipe, if not works then do mega wipe
If you doing megawipe then you need to flash stock rom immediately after megawipe, as it will wipe rom too.

Try this:
1. flash TWRP recovery using Odin (if you don't have it already)
2. Backup all files you need to your external SD or PC
3. Open TWRP recovery and go to wipe
4. Click all buttons you see including System, Format disk, internal SD, Cache, Dalvik, Factory Reset.. But don't wipe your external.
5. Than flash a ROM using TWRP using a flashable zip ..
6. That should make your device better..
I had a problem of my phone every time I start it, it like resets everything like I never used it.. But that worked for me..
You may try it..

It never does.
No recovery will have an option to delete efs.
I am 100% sure.
Also make sure you have an efs backup.

If your efs backup is in the external..than no it will NOT delete it when you format disk.. External SD will not be touched when you format disk.. I always do that when I want to flash new ROM..I put my ROM on external SD than format disk and other things than I flash from external SD..
And to be 100% sure that it will not deleted anything from it, take it off..format and do all wipes..than return it back (make sure you restart the recovery so it works)

[Q] Question regarding odin flash

I am currently on AOSP omni rom 4.4.2.
I now plan to shift to official 4.4 touchwiz rom by flashing official firmware through odin.
I've tried to search for this question but cannot seem to locate the answer.
Will flashing a rom through odin erase even the media partition of internal storage or only the data partition? I will need to backup the files accordingly.
Thanks!

It'll flash only data partition, internel storage only formatted when you're resetting your phone by settings. Still then personal data backup (EFS must) is advised to avoid loss.

Any data wipe 100% stock TARs available?

Can't find any!!
Nope
Factory reset phone through recovery first then ODIN tar should be equivalent?
