Any phone can softbrick/bootloop if you remove certain Google stock programs - don't remove Google play services and be careful removing any Google apps. (but with G4 you can remove almost any that appear in app drawer except Google Play)

i have deleted all google apps on LP no bootloop.. i just flashed MM like 3 days ago. and unlocked bootloader.. and removing google play services bootloops even disabling a service bottloops.. i have done it on LP no bootloop.. so i was thinking it has to do with systemless in MM... becuase i could delete everything on LP.. only start up wizard would give me security error.. but all gapps was removed... and no bootloop... it happens on MM only..

*I have cm11 rom installed (and root permissions of course)
Google play store crushes even though I don't open it. After I click "ok" it crushes again. And again. And again. Until I disable the app.
I have already tried to remove store updates, remove updates of Google play services, remove and re-add Google account, delete cache and data (from setting>apps>play store) but all these didn't work.
Thanks for the helpers
As well as the above try wipe dalvik and uninstall lucky patcher. I had issues the other day too but on a stock rom. A combo of all the above worked to get it running again.

I had to make google play services as user instead of system app to make it work.

When I open up Play store it says, check your connection and try again. Even though I have wifi and internet works and all. Please help

Its a problem with Google Services Framework. This problem was widely reported in the official CM12 thread for LG G3
All i can suggest is trying clearing data for google services framework and if it still continues to not work, trying doing a fresh install

Hi everyone, my lg g4 h815p was working with marshmallow and I wanted revert it to lollipop for root. Now google play store downloads stuck at downloading or at some percentage (for example %91). Also it gives an error 489. Sometimes it can download 1 or 2 apps but again stuck for next app. Yes, I have ****ty wifi but there was no problem before now and my brother can download apps using the wifi with his phone.
I tried clear cache/file google play store, google play services, download manager and deleting my google account and adding it again. Also clearing google play store updates and trying to download with mobile data instead of wifi didn't work. For example when it is stuck at %72, if I turn off and turn on wifi or turn on mobile data, sometimes it continues downloading and the app is installed but this doesn't always work. Finally, I did a factory reset, reset my modem and change dns to google dns also installed the lollipop kdz again with LGUP didn't solve the problem. I thought that Adaway blocks google play store somehow, disabled and uninstalled it also didn't help. Last, I want to say that my lg g4 was working with no problems with the same lollipop kdz and rooted 2 months ago.

its impossible to understand what you are trying to do there. Marshmallow isn't rooted ?
Anyway , since you are rooted, just flash new gapps in recovery or use flashfire and flash them.
I don't understand what the problem is and you want lollipop that bad and i don't know where exactly the play store error is since i don't have a logcat to show the error, but reflashing gapps will solve it.
My phone's bootloader is locked. I'm just installing the stock h815p lollipop kdz with LGUP, I don't have recovery/TWRP . After rooting it, I installed Xposed with Flashfire. My problem is that I can't download apps from google play store. Everything is working perfect except play store issue.

I installed the stock lollipop kdz again. After 15 minutes when I looked into the installed apps there was latest version of the google play store but the google play services version was old. So, I downloaded the latest version of the google play services apk and installed it manually. After restarting the phone, the issue was fixed. Thank you for your help.

nope. anytime. But you could directly do what i said and flash gapps from flashfire, there was no need to reflash kdz and waste time looking for the problem
I've stayed on the China rom since I bought my phone and everything was fine with the Google apps until the update to Oreo 9.5.2. Problems encountered were constant crashing and popups, battery drain and Google Assistant stopped working. Here's how I solved the issues:
1) Go to this link and install the updated Google apps for Oreo http://en.miui.com/thread-1682191-1-1.html
2) I tried several Assistant apps on the play store but all crash immediately just like Google Assistant. So I've switched to Cortana (until Xiaomi fix the bug) and it works perfectly.
Hope this helps anyone that decided to stay on the China rom like me.
P.S. Before anyone asks. No, I don't want the Global rom or a custom rom. No I don't want to flash, mod, magisk or anything else. Just posting a tip. Thanks.
Bump, I also have the problem and it's fustrated to know my Google assistant and Google app not working.
I tried to solve it with this solution, but still have the problems.
Also 4/6 apps it didnt install, because I have a newer version.
Are there any other solutions?

Uninstall your other Google apps and install these. Make sure you follow the instructions exactly. Install but don't open and make sure you use the 8.0 version of Google Services Framework and not 8.1. Reboot your device and log back into Google. You also have to enable all the permissions, autostart, background, don't kill, no restrictions etc just like a regular app since they're not treated like a system apps by MIUI. If Google Play Services starts draining the battery just force stop it. Opening any other Google app will restart it in normal mode.
All this works for me so far and I'm also getting about an extra hour of battery life along with the major ram management improvements on Oreo.
Another thing. If Google Play Services is causing battery drain, disable Modify System Settings in permissions. I've been getting the battery drain issue once in a while and found a possible solution in the Oneplus forums. So far it seems to be working.

Here's the solution to the Google app problem. Google Assistant won't show up as the default Voice Assistant so you'll have to just use voice on the normal app.

Make sure you uninstalled your original Google Account Manager and then try again. If that doesn't work uninstall everything and try this method:
http://en.miui.com/thread-2069667-1-1.html
I only added the Google Partner Setup apk from that link to mine and disabled Modify System Settings in permissions and everything seems ok so far. You can also try force stopping Google Play Services and opening the Play Store. That worked for me too but it doesn't solve all the problems.
I'm presuming you followed the original instructions to the letter and installed the apps in order without opening anything and then rebooting?

I've installed all gapps through Xiaomi store. Eveything is working now. Let's see if the battery drain problem is still there tomorrow.
Before my clock also didnt work, but today it works suddenly......
Good to hear. Disabling the Modify System Settings permission solved my battery drain issue. Everything works so I'm not exactly sure what that permission does.
I got parse error when tried to install the google account manager. Not sure how you guys solved the issue?

I was getting the parse error when trying to install the Google Account Manager as well (and yes, I have uninstalled everything else Google related).
I follow the installation guide here:
http://en.miui.com/thread-1682191-1-1.html
But the thing is the Miui 9 now needs to give permission to install 3rd party apps for each app, but I do set it up that the Mi File Manager has the right to do that but same thing, still has that Parse error when trying to install the Google Account Manager.
I don't see Xiaomi store has GApps anymore, where did you get it from?

I really don't understand why you're not able to install it successfully. Try uninstalling everything again and follow this method exactly http://en.miui.com/thread-1682191-1-1.html
Make sure you install only the 8.0 version of Google Services Framework and not 8.1. Don't open anything until you have rebooted.
This is the one I used and only added Google Partner Setup from the other method whilst disabling Modify System Settings in the permissions for Google Services Framework.

I just chose the first one that came up. But if you're suspecting the files are corrupted just download the updated versions directly from Apkmirror.

Hi guys, does any of you have this issue with Google Play services automatically update to version 12.2.21 and then puts Google play store in a loop displaying the message "Authentication is required. You need to sign in your Google account" even though I am signed in and press the retry button. I can confirm previous versions of Google play services do not cause this issue, but there is no way to stop the damn thing from automatic updating, even though the app store has autoupdate off.
I tried removing the account and adding it back. Tested with another Google account and same issue.

I had the same issue when I updated to Oreo. Try and Force stop Google Play Services and deny it permission to Modify System Settings. The Force Stop will allow you to access the Play Store temporarily and for some reason denying permission to Modify System Settings permanently solves the battery drain and Play Store issue. I have no idea why but someone posted it on the OnePlus forums and it works.

Custom rom or stock unmodified?
If custom rom or stock
Clear the data of all Google apps including
Google Playstore
Google play services
Google
Google Services framework (requires you to show system apps)
For custom rom only if the above doesn't work re-flash gapps and if you get force closes do the above again
Once done restart phone
This is assuming you have all the correct Google apps & framework
