Using Tab S2 Multiwindow Files - Posible? How to? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tab S 10.1 owner here, I wanted to fix and test the following.
1: Fix
The current 4 way Multiwindow Files i use are from the .zip someone posted from one of the roms a few years back, they essentially took the 4waymultiwindow Files from one of the Samsung Note devices, not sure if it was IronRom or SuperV5 ( i forget name, i apologize). Since then we have received the Lollipop update and the icons of the apps when minimized have black pixels around them, they normally minimize to a ring with just a circular app icon that floats on your screen. <See attachment>
2: Test
The current multiwindow on the Tab S2 supports 5 windows and the minimize icons work correctly, would it be safe to assume that simply replacing the following files:
Com.sec.feature.multiwindow.freestylelaunch.xml
Com.sec.feature.multiwindow.quadview.xml
Com.sec.feature.multiwindow.scaleapp.xml
Default location on Tab S:
System/etc/permissions
Would port those features to the Tab S? Has anyone tried this yet? I'm currently waiting for someone from the S2 forums to provide me the files but I would like to hear some input and see if anyone has already tried it and could provide feed back?
Has anyone been able to correct the black pixels around the icon when minimized on the original 4waymultiwindow zip I have attached on Lollipop?
Thanks!

How to mod keyboard colors?

Hi guys,
yesterday i saw a picture of the Galaxy tab keyboard and i like the colors very much.
I downloaded a Galaxy Tab ROM and decompiled both Galaxy S (with depencies) and Galaxy Tab's AxT9IME.apk.
I copied the desired pictures to my original AxT9IME folder.
After that i recompiled it and pushed it into /system/app.
Now the Keyboard disappeared. Its not in the list of input methods anymore.
I also tried to color the original files, but then i get force closes when i choose the samsung keyboard.
Can you help me, please? What am i doing wrong?
can help with the screwed up phone.. try reflashing.. but next time instead of trying to mod the keyboard that way, use the custom htc keyboard works great and you can customize your own keyboard here
http://www.gimpsta.com
My phone isn't screwed. Its just the keyboard, but i backed it up before.
And i already tried the htc ime, but it doesn't have multitouch.
By the way, using another keyboard can't be the solution, i want the samsung keyboard with different colors. The guys out there do such crazy things with the software, so i can't believe there is no possibility to do what i want to do.

[Q] Possible to change app icon text?

Can't seem to find any info on this that is relevant, just some stuff for much older versions and for WP.
I switched out my stock email app with the XFinity app, as it seems to be more reliable on retrieving email. The only problem I have with it is the icon is too big (touches the top and bottom of the launch bar) and the text is too long/doesn't wrap.
I was able to change the icon to a more standard icon via winrar etc, however I can't find a successful way to fix the text issue. Is this even possible?
Attached a pic, app is in lower right:
Well since you have it in the launcher I think the only way to do this would be to edit an .xml file (no idea which one) inside the .apk. You could always put it on the home screen using Launcher Pro, LP lets you customize the name. Probably not what you want to do, but just throwing it out there
Yeah I'm addicted to GTG though
I found several references to changes to strings.xml to allow wrapping etc and possibly change it entirely (not a lot of info there), but it appears to maybe be for an older version or something as the file isn't located in the apk where everyone says it should be.
Thanks though

[Q] Standard wallpaper gone after setting other wallpaper

Today I got my new Galaxy S2 and I tested some other wallpapers. But then I wanted to set the stock wallpaper back and it's nowhere to be found. The wallpaper I'm looking for is a view of the earth from space, where the earth itself (the continents) is made up of all sorts of vibrant colours (I don't know how to describe it in another way, it's like very big and colourful fireworks )
I have searched on Google, but couldn't find an example of it. The phone came with one of the latest firmwares, I9100CEKI2. I hope someone can help me out, I really liked that wallpaper. It's really strange, normally it should be possible to just set the original wallpaper back, isn't it? There are three categories to choose from, Background Gallery, Gallery and Live Backgrounds. The first has 5 backgrounds, but not the one I'm looking for, Gallery is still empty and it's not a live background, so it isn't there either.
I've already tried downloading and extracting an original firmware, but I have no tools to open the .img files from the update and I am a bit new to all this Samsung stuff. I've also tried looking around in all sorts of directories on the phone, like /system , /sys and so on, but I couldn't find it (and maybe it is inside some .apk file and I won't find it in a million years)
So if someone knows which background I'm talking about, please post it here or send me (a link to) the file. Thanks in advance!
Even factory reset doesn't bring the wallpaper back
I have the same situation??? How to back default wallpaper?

How to change system icons using ssh?

As a previous iPhone user the one thing I can say I miss is the ease of using the ssh feature after jail breaking and having access to the system files If I wanted to change lets say the "camera icon"- I could ssh into the phone and go into the system file folder and find that one file name, remove it and replace it with the new icon jpeg. That's it! End the ssh session and BAM! I have a new icon for my camera.
Or if i wanted to change the dial pad background on my phone or the way the keys light up on my old iPhone I would just ssh and go to the "phone" jpeg file and just change it out. and BAM I have a new phone skin.
I'm sure you get my point....
So now that I'm using Android I love how the options are there to change. However I'm OCD and don't like to download all these files and icon packs which takes up storage on my S3. So I have installed sshDroid and using Filezilla successfully accessed my phone. ( Yes I'm rooted)
Now I downloaded a few icon packs but I don't want to keep the download on my phone. What I want to do is choose a few icons I like, ssh into my phone and replace lets say the "google+" icon with a new one.
The question is where in the world is the file? How do I access the stock system icons?
This is where Android is awesome to customize but hard as crap to find files.
Can someone provide me with instructions, or a link to instructions on how to do this?
I've been on Google and I'm not really finding the answer to my question. I just simply want to change my icons so I can make my own theme.
Please help! Thanks
You have to use an icon pack in a launcher or decompile the app you want to change the icon for and then swap the icon out and then rebuild the apk and install.
Your better off with an icon pack. As there is no easy way. Android was made for developers mainly.

[Q] Easy Charts Built into Note 10.1 (2014 edition)

Has anyone figured out to use the different charts built into the Note 10.1. I found them under the help screen with all the apps. Includes bar charts, pie charts, tables. It says they work with Snote. How do you get the datasets into the charts?
You insert the type of chart you want then under the edit menu, pick the selection square and draw it around the chart to select A popup menu appears with an edit chart option. When you pick that a new section opens with fields to insert data and headings. When done, tap done and save with data to complete the process.
I have been trying it but it is not working too well. I can draw the first dataset then that's about it. Help screens are not very useful. I would like to figure it out as I have some possible uses for these graphs. I guess I will just play with it for awhile. I hope Samsung makes an upgraded pdf manual for KitKat (4.4.2). There is one for 4.3 but there are changes with new version of android.
