Hi
XDA newbie, still learning where everything is! I posted this question in the general help thread but got no replies, then I found this section so please pardon the repost
I have a rooted Galaxy Note 2 N7105 (t0lte I think) running Samsung Stock software 4.4.2. I have previously installed various version of CyanogenMod and Ditto Note, and somewhere along the line have lost my GPS functionality! Running CWM recover, not sure what version off the top of my head. The exact issue is that when I turn GPS on, it shows the "searching" symbol endlessly and will not lock to any satellites.
I have tried reflashing the modem and every GPS fix app that I've seen suggested on forums, and it still will not lock my location by GPS. Power saving (wi-fi and mobile network) location still works.
From my research, I believe the NV Rebuild method (listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211690) is what I need to do in order to fix the problem. However when I access the hidden dialer menu and select NV Rebuild it tells me "Not Support in Custom Binary!" Other people have had this issue and posted asking for help in the thread, but nobody replied or helped them.
As I mentioned, I am running stock Samsung software, not a custom ROM. The phone is rooted, and I do have a few Xposed modules installed. I also used Triangle Away and my bootloader shows the device status as Samsung Official. It also showed Official in settings when I tried to run the NV Rebuild. As far as the information went, this should be all I needed to make NV Rebuild work, but it still gave the custom binary error.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get around this? Do I need to completely unroot my phone and reflash a vanilla copy of Samsung 4.4.2 before it will work, or is there a workaround to make the service menu read my phone as official and run the NV Rebuild?
Any thoughts or ideas would be HUGELY appreciated as this issue has been driving me mental! (Please let me know if you need further information and I will try to provide it ASAP)
Thanks in advance!

HI all,
First post, go easy on me!
I've searched the forums trying to find the answer to this problem but have been unsuccessful. I successfully flashed my Galaxy W with slimbean 3.1.0 and had been using it successfully for over a month. I put it in airport mode to save battery, as I had done many times before, but this time when I turned it off the service never came back. I haven't had service since.
I have tested the SIM in another phone and it is working fine. I have also tried flashing a different ROM (CM10 Alpha 1) with no luck. I would reflash the phone with the stock firmware if there is any chance that would help, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that via CWM. At this point I'm not exactly sure what to do. Is it possible that the this is a hardware issue?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes it´s possible it´s a hardware issue you got after a while.
First thing I would try is to flash back to stock ROM and see if this fixes your issue. (With Odin)
There is a guide about how to do that, but am sorry not to point you to it right now. Its 4am here righ now and I already am having difficulties to write correctly. (need to go to bed soon )
If this helps I would suggest to update the baseband and then to try again with CyanogenMod.
But if reflashing the stock ROM doesn´t help either, I would suggest to contact the Samsung Service Center.
By flashing back to the stock ROM make sure you are flashing the one used in your specific country, because in the first place it also inculdes the baseband used in your country and in the secound place it also inculdes the country code Samsung might look at while testing your phone.
In Germany for example most SGW´s were sold with it´s specific coutry code. But there were also a few sold with the county code for the whole EU.
So you must care about such things when flashing back to stock ROM. For fixing it the country code is not important. Only the baseband used in your region is important. But I case you need to contact the Samsung Service Center it will be important.
Hope this helps a bit. Now I really need to go to sleep.
Does your IMEI number still ok? Cause I lost my Efs folder with IMEI number some time ago, in another Galaxy fone i had.
you can check it in Settings / About fone / Status / IMEI
If you lost it, you will have no service, no matter what rom you try.
In this case, you can try to repair using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546 , not simple but saved my fone.
Hey guys,
I have a SGH-T889V originally locked to WIND Mobile. I unlocked via service menu. I flashed Jedi Master 13 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958230) and T889UVBMB4 modem from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102380.
Prior to this, I used ODIN to flash custom recovery (TWRP 2.5). Used TWRP to create a backup of the stock phone, EFS/System/Boot/Modem/Data/every selectable partition.
It was working awesome on LTE. My friend, who has WIND Mobile (I am using a different carrier - Virgin/Bell Mobility) asked me "now that you flashed LTE, does it still get 3G AWS? I figured it should, but said we should try it. I put his SIM in my phone, and it wouldn't connect, replaced my Virgin SIM back to the phone and still doesn't connect. My IMEI now reads 0/00.
Is there any way I can fix this? I tried restoring my original backup, and it just bootloops. Tried flashing stock image (from teshxx posts) and also boot loops
FIXED!!!
Followed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145967 I have no clue how I managed to find it, it was a combination of searching imei missing and qpst on google.
I know the time between this post and my OP is short, I encountered this problem a couple days ago and have been trying to find a solution since!
MODS: Please delete/move this thread if needed. Through my hours upon hours of googling, it seems other people have the same issue, this may help them find a solution? I replied to my thread with a solution to save time of others trying to help, I leave the thread's fate in your hands.
I say, leave it here for reference.
The title is good for searching, it will come up first.

Hi,
I'm running on MC2 and whenever I update to any 4.2.2 rom (tried at least 3 of them) I lose service.
When updated to 4.2.2, going into "about" shows IMEI and all the phone settings as UNKNOWN.
When I flash back to MC2 then my service works.
I've tried doing NVBACKUP in MC2 where my service works, and then doing NVRESTORE in 4.2.2, but that doesn't work either.
Please help, as I would love to be on 4.2.2 and I can't find a fix for this anywhere.
Thanks

Hey Guys,
you might run into this problem if you flash ROMs meant for different carriers' Note IIs
:silly:
[SIZE="4"I used the CF-Auto-Root and have been running C-Rom with the lean kernel for about a month or so. Originally after rooting back in January I used Cyanogen Rom Snapshot M5. Anyway ever since I rooted my phone I tripped the knox counter and it still pops up SELinux Reinforcing every time I reboot or turn on my note 3. I there a way to fix and reset this as I am not running stock Samsung Firmware so I have not tried triangle root yet. Also, I have not been able to use my NFC or connect to my WiFi at home although when I go to other places that have WiFi I can connect just fine. I was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue's I have read a lot of threads and still can't find a solution. If I need to unroot then re-root using another method. I tried the NFC fix and it said successful when I ran it through my recovery but it didn't do anything. I also tried to fix the app2sd card and have not been able to do so either. I was wondering if someone can help me out or point me in the right direction. Thanks![/SIZE]
NFC FIX
Please help I tried the NFC Fix that was recommended and it messed up my phone bad. It was for the Canadian Version and now I have to do a restore, but if someone could please tell me how to fix the NFC problem with the CF-Auto-Root and if there is a way to fix the unstable WiFi too that would be great thanks
Guys,
I'm trying to make a ROM for the Verizon Galaxy Note Edge from stock. Yes, I know this is the wrong forum BUT...there are only a few of us with the phone and there has been no developer interest which is completely understandable. NPJohnson was kind enough to do the work so that we could convert to the developer edition from the retail edition. This phone is very similar and so I'm hoping one of the devs here has ran into the problem and can point me in the right direction.
The problem: I've made a ROM based on the stock firmware and it boots (which is further than I thought I'd get) and gets working 4G. However, I can't get it to connect for calls or sms. It keeps showing "Searching for service" under Network in phone info. My phone number, MIN, PRL and IMEI are all present. I've tried removing the SIM card and reinserting it and still nothing. I can flash my original backup and it's fine again.
Why I think it can be fixed: Back when the Developer Edition was first released, one of the users put out a stock, rooted ROM, unfortunately, he is no longer active on XDA. Going back and following his posts I see that he ran into the same issue and then resolved it but there was nothing posted about how it was resolved.
If you can help, have suggestions, recommend other tools or forums, anything, it would be greatly appreciated.
