I am using Dual Sim, one sim for data and one for voice. When playing Pokemon Go, I noticed that right before I receive a text message, my data signal drops. This happens whenever I am about to receive a text message regardless if I am playing a game or not. I see the LTE symbol go away and then I get a text and then it comes back after about 15-20 seconds. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this and if there is a fix?

Hi
I am having a problem with my Desire at the moment, regarding SMS messages.
I am currently in a 2G area, which is very sketchy at the best of times, and I seem to be having trouble receiving SMS messages.
Sometimes if I am on my phone using a 2G data connection, any text messages I receive during this time will not appear on my phone until I have either sent an outgoing text or made / received a phone call. Then I could get loads at once, as my phone has not gave them to me during the data connection, or even after I have finished actively using the data connection (APN still turned on though).
I currently have CM Nightly 09102010 with baseband version 32.47.00.32U_5.10.05.23.
Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening and get my text messages when they are sent, and not hours later?
Thanks
Stewart
No-one?
Doesn't anyone else experience this?
It sounds like a network problem, I had the same thing happen with older phones, not with my Desire though.

Over the past two weeks, my phone has been acting really weird. Even when I have service, I cannot send texts sometimes, the phone says "Failed to send." Even after this, I clicked resend I get the "Fail" message again, but my friends say they got my texts.
Another thing is I don't get calls from anyone. My friends tell me they called me, and I don't get ANYTHING, not a notification or an incoming call.
I have updated PRL, Firmware, Profile, and even rebooted. I do not know what is going on, it's getting frustrating.
what version of rom are you using? and is it rooted? Have you ever experience LOS? Any other problems or only in calling and SMS?
If you have installed custom ROM and are rooted boot into clockwork mod and wipe dalvick cache and wipe cache reboot update prl and profile and you should be good to go

I am not rooted, as for LOS, sometimes if I go from somewhere that has no service to somewhere that does, the phone won't recognize it.
The GPS is extremely slow to find a location. Other than texts and incoming calls (happens sporadically), mms (picture texts) or attatching a pic to gmail will take forever to send.
How do you know what ROM you are running?

If it happens only at the specific location, then you may try Airwave - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1407446
I've seen some type of condominiums where it's really sealed well and no phone signal, no mms, no sms, nothing!
Because your phone is not rooted, if this problem happens in everywhere, you need to bring it to customer service center.
Go to settings/about phone and at the bottom of "about phone" you will see build number....it will say right under that.

GINGERBREAD.EL29 is the build number.
This usually happens at school, but the thing is that the phone says I'm connected and that I have service. Even when I went to the parking lot driving home, I could not receive a friends call. It said I have full service.
I have certain friends that use either ATT or Tmobile, and sometimes when they text, they go off and send maybe 4-6 texts one right after the other. If I try to text back as I'm receiving texts I get an error message, I think it says Error message 34. I also notice that if I try to send multiple texts like that, the little loading icon comes up and they slowly get sent off one by one. I had the same problem with my HTC EVO 3D on Sprint and even my Palm Pre, they're all so painfully slow when it comes to texting.
My only remedy around this has been to use Google Voice and text using data with my other number, but I don't really give it out to anyone so it wouldn't make sense to do that, plus it can't receive picture mail.
Is this just a flaw of Sprint? I'm using the oem texting app. If you want to replicate this issue, you could use google voice on your computer to try to send multiple texts to your phone and try to text back with your phone as you're receiving them. Your text will either hang there for a while and eventually send maybe 30-40 seconds later, or it will just error out and you have to manually resend it.
edit: just realized that this thread may be in the wrong section.. I don't see a delete option unfortunately :\
Yes it is in the wrong section. It should be in Q / A . Ask a Mod to please move it. As for your issue I would lean toward it being a Network issue. Reason being, I've run into it before. Check online, or call Sprint. Ask them if they are doing any work in your area. You can also try Updating PRL /Profile. If that still does not resolve it you can try ##72786# . That will reset your Data. Make sure you leave it alone, and let it finish.
Moved to Q&A
Good morning everyone and Happy New Year!
Does anyone have issue with Text Message being slow? I'm using the stock Message App come with AT&T. It always take about at least 3 or 4 second to complete the sending (i.e. the spinning circle on every text). No matter how short or long the text is. Especially, group text is very slow. I think it's not the Network issue because I had Note 3 before and never have the issue.
Might do you some good to reprogram your phone. I do not know the number you dial for reprogramming though... Call AT&T or visit a local store.
I don't have issues with slow text messages myself. I have issues with my phone just randomly not getting them until I reboot. Any text messages sent between the time it stopped getting them and I reboot are lost. Not sure what causes it to happen. Happened a few times within a month then went months without happening and then just recently happened again...
Hi
For about a week now I am facing network problems for sending or receiving sms or phone calls since the last update of LOS 18.1 (june 18th).
I'm on Miatoll since about 2 months, tried to reset network, change preferences, etc... Sometimes *#06# gives me no IMEI so I searched this way, but sometimes I still have an IMEI but the network doesn't work anymore.
It works back when I reboot the phone for about 1 or 2 hours, sometimes less, then it stops working. Either I don't receive sms or I receive them one or two days later. I tried to change the default sms app but it didn't change, also tried to force the SMSC with my operators number without more results... I tried to change the SIM card from sim1 to sim2 with the same result. On another phone (Blackview on android) it works fine. Something weird is that mobile datas work fine most of the time even when I can't send/receive sms or phone calls, but sometimes are also bugged.
Also when the network doesn't work anymore, accessing networks settings just freeze and quit the settings app.
EDIT : When I try to call myself from another phone, it rings normally and goes to voicemail. Nothing happens on my LOS phone. Also, when network is bugged, when I try to call someone it doesn't ring, stays on the call screen. When I hang up its stuck on "hang up", the microphone stays activated and I can't stop it even by forcing the phone app to close. It finally stop after 30 seconds to 1 minute.
I searched through XDA and other forums, none of the solutions I found worked.
I guess I'll wait for the next update or, if it doesn't change anything I'll probably flash a previous rom.
Does someone knows what to do with it ?
Many thanks in advance
I hope it's understandable, I'm not native english. I'll edit the post or give more infos if needed.
