More accurate. Without kernel source code it is impossible.

Question about root

i was just wondering if after i root i can still have the phone look as if it had sense ui... I assume that's what the Stock ROM does but I'd like to make sure.
Also is there a froyo theme that looks like the sense ui?
Thanks for the help in advance

Gaining root doesn't change the version of android you have running, it just gives you root access. For example, I have root access on my Evo, so I can use screenshot or wireless tether apps, but I'm still running the Sense UI that came with the phone.
To lose Sense UI, you would have to flash a new ROM onto the phone.
Oh I see! thank you!

Where's Stock Android

I'd like to know where the Stock Android ROM is for this phone. I just want to use stock android and none of these launchers or add ons.

What you mean where is stock android? You bought an M9 not a nexus device.. HTC has it's own skin on top on android
Stock android rom. One word missing makes me sound like an idiot.

I think there is a little missunderstanding in this thread. You are talking about vanilla android, right? It's sometimes a bit confusing that people refer to "vanilla android roms" as "stock android roms" since a "stock rom" is the rom a device is "stocked" with by the manufacturer.
At the moment there is no custom rom* with vanilla android available. But as you can read here some developers are already working on CM.
*And there is no stock rom with vanilla android since there is no GPE of the M9.

GingerBread for GT-I9195?

Is there any gingerbread roms for gt-i9195? If there is none. How could I make one? My research was unsuccessfull so I decided to make a new thread with hope that someone will come up with a positive answer
There is no gingerbread roms for gt-i9195 and there is no possibility to make one. There is no sources for our phone for such old system.
Is there a way to make a port at least?

The only thing you could do is theme a stock rom to look like GB, but afaik it's not possible to have an android 2.3.x version on a device that shipped out a later version on release

anyone have the compiled stock rom for the htc one v (virgin mobile)?

i know this phone is old as all get out but I recently acquired one of these and it seems to have twrp installed already but no actual firmware...
i'd like to flash back to stock but i would also prefer that someone could fish out a rom from the deep sea of mostly dead links that would be considered somewhat usable. i think there may be a 4.2.2 rom somewhere but i am unsure. the device codename is "primoc"
tl;dr: if anyone has the stock rom, please upload it if possible. i'd also like to see if anyone has a rom for this device that is on 4.2.2 or later. doesn't have to be that new but it is preferred
as for stock i am sure only 4.0.x exists
thanks in advance.
