Sorry, android noob here (just switched onto a 5X on black Friday), but i have twrp installed on my phone and currently run Marshmallow 6.0. I want to upgrade to 6.0.1 but I have no clue how. Is there a way to do it without losing any data and not having to get rid of twrp? Would flashing a ROM of the update work? Thank you for your time.
search, this has been covered dozens of times, there are even stickies that outline step by step on how do it
Hi all
I followed this guide to downgrade my Android OS from 5.0.1 to 4.4.2 http://www.androidexplained.com/downgrade-lg-g3/. I did everything as suggested, used LG Flash with the D581 BIN and DLL files. The downgrade worked and I was able tto root the phone.
However, when I put in the SIM card, it says service is disabled. The card works fine (using it now on another phone), and it worked in that phone when it wad Lolipop, so it must have been the downgrade. I also checked the imei on the Tmobile site and it's fine too.
What can I do to repair it? What should I download? I'm pretty inept when it comes to all these processes, but I really want to fix this, having the phone working and rooted. I'd really appreciate any help. Even just getting it back to Lolipop would be great. Or would flashing a.custom ROM, like Cyanogenmod, end up fixing the SIM.card situation?
Thanks so much!
Searched from 10pm to 7am, I give up. Refurbished phone came with the new CPG2, am I screwed?
The stock download mode doesn't seem to play with Odin, is there any way to downgrade to any other baseband for rooting, or even better, unlock this accursed bootloader?
I've seen hints, but no posts or threads with any definitive answers. Help me, Obi Wan, I'm so tired...

****I think we're screwed. I've been trying to downgrade to 5.1.1 from the latest 6.0.1 for the last few hours and it seems to have borked my phone pretty bad. Hopefully reflashing the current firmware will fix it.****
Cancel that, I apparently just flashed the wrong file and its now downgraded to 5.1.1
Just need to use Odin to flash a older firmware and you should be good to go

May I ask what files you used? I was on 5.1.1 rooted until this morning when I tried to get to 6.0.1. No matter what I tried to do, my phone would not root. Tried KingRoot and KingORoot a bunch of times, and root checker always said that root was not successful. Then I got into a boot loop, so I ran the Verison repair utility and now I'm on the latest and greatest 6.0.1.
Even after the repair utility ran, when I reboot my phone, it still says "Custom", with the unlocked padlock on the boot screen.
I'd like to get back to 5.1.1. with root again and I'm fine with not having 6.0.1.

I'm in a similar boat, where i bought a Verizon Note2 phone that had android 6.0.1 N910VVRU2CPG2 when I got it. Has any one found any way to root/unlock bootloader so we can put a custom ROM on it?
Need System dump of any 5.1.1 AT&T for testing if anyone is rooted and can pull it
Looking for anyone rooted on any 5.1.1 build that can pull a full system dump for testing. I'm attempting a way for anyone to run 5.1.1 rooted even if they have upgraded past the downgrade point (6.0.1/7.0). this may go no where but its worth a shot.
Disregard the system dump, I think I have something in the works, I have a T-Mobile stock/custom 5.1.1 rom booted and rooted if testing goes well ill post a how to for the guys stuck on binary 4 bootloaders.
Thanks. This is legit though, I've been working (conversing) with him for about a week when he started.
So everyone who is still on a v4 Bootloader MM or Nougat can now downgrade back to lollipop and fully root the phone. It also sticks on reboot. No more tethered root for any device on 5.1.1
SWEEEEET
Hi,
So a while ago I followed a step by step guide to unroot my device.
all that supersu / twrp stuff.
Now I have forgotten everything I did.
So I tried to upgrade my OS to the latest 9 for my One Plus 3, But it keeps failing for some reason.
I want to revert back to stock.
When ever I try to upgrade it fails.
Idk what to do :/
