So I looked at the Note 7 highlights over at Samsung's website and saw two things that surprised me.
http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-note7/
1. It says that while the phone does use USB type C, it's actually USB 2.0 and not 3.1 like many thought it would be. Didn't see anyone mention this.
2. It says the phone has 4GB of RAM, but instead of the usual LPDDR4 it says CPDDR4. A Google search doesn't bring up anything on this.
Just wanted to see what your thoughts are on this.
Yes it sucks but its True
No Usb 3.1 just 2.0
meaning no fast transfer from phone to PC
Hope they will have it in the S8
According to the website today, it WILL have 3.1.

Hi guys,
So it appears that the global variant is indeed 2.0 while the U.S. variant is 3.1. Here's a comparison straight from Samsung's spec sheets.

Where is apt-x.
A bit depressing to see it only has 2.0, I transfer a lot of phones on and off my phone.
Damn. What a shame.
Damn, so there is no practical use from that USB-C... maybe at night it will be easier to connect it to charge.

At least internationally there isn't much. But the charging block for the Note 7 is reported to not be the same as the s7, or the Note 5. So maybe a stronger charging current?!?

Could be usb-c tipe should provide a litlle bit faster charging. Changing cables even with provided adapter will be a pain in the ass. Decided even to buy the wireless fast charger and always have my wall charger in the bag. The stupid part is that I will have to buy a old adaptive fast charger with micro usb to power the wireless charger or maybe Samsung is releasing the one with usb-c port soon? Soon I will feel like a iPhoner that can't borrow a damn charger from a friend and to say my phone have usb tybe c ant it's only 2.0 what... stupid sammy they have always to let you down

The charging will be faster. The Note7 has a new adaptive charger that's 12V/2.1A vs. the Note5 and S7-series that used 9V/1.2A. Quick Charge 2.0 supports up to 12V/2A and has no USB-C requirement. Who knows what Samsung's interpretation of USB-C is. We'll have to wait for sites like Anandtech and GSMArena to do their full reviews to find out what Samsung's implementation does and doesn't bring.

I've been hunting for an extra, high quality, 2A USB charger for my devices - but I didn't want to pay $25-$30 to get a Samsung or Asus 2A USB charger. And then I came across this blog entry by Ken Shirriff where he went and reviewed 12 different USB chargers including genuine and fake apple chargers + other brands.
http://goo.gl/rym3M
Really good and informative post. Definitely recommend a read. For the Cole's notes version, apple makes great USB chargers ... but not the best. The best USB charger in this review actually turned out to be the USB charger that came with the ill-fated HP TouchPad. This charger has very low noise and voltage drop characteristics.
What's more, you can actually get these great HP chargers for $15 on eBay. Or via Kijiji for $15 if you're in the Toronto area.
Mine is off Kijiji and here are logged screenshots of my GNex charging from 12% to 100% with both the Samsung charger that came with it and the HP Charger.

FYI, I use this charger for both my GNex and my N7. I've posted OEM vs HP Charger graphs from my N7 here.
I see nothing in those graphs that makes me think one is better than the other. The lines are virtually identical, they go from 12%-100% in the same amount of time.

It doesn't buzz like the stock one and it doesn't get hot when charging the GNex at ~1A like the stock one does. As well, this charger is capable of handling tablet charging as well. Guess I should have indicated all this in my first post.

The post is rating the chargers on far more than just how quickly it charges a phone.
Just to add my two cents, anecdotally, before even seeing this post, I was going to say that the touchpad chargers have been the best I've used also. Glad i bought 4 or 5 of them for $5/each when hp went on their firesale binge.
I read that same article and bough two of them months ago for $6. They are great. They do have a slight buzz if you put your ear up to them but nothing like the samsung one. Highly recommend them.
Interesting article. Not really sure what to make of it though, beyond not buying counterfeit chargers?
I've actually got a bunch of those HP chargers for my Gnex. I got them straight from HP for $4 each last summer. Very awesome chargers.

Well... the battery charges at the same speed for both the stock 1A charger and the HP 2A charger. The device itself regulates how much power it will draw, and drawing 1A from a 2A charger is surely more efficient and will result in a longer lasting and better charger, as well as one that can be used for tablets and other USB devices that want to draw more than 1A. I wonder if you can take the 2A charger and put a USB Splitter or something on there and charge 2 1A devices at the same time... I'd imagine so.
I use my OEM Galaxy S4 charger. It charges all of my devices faster than any other charger I've ever tried.

I think it is QC3.0. Check my video, how the charging voltage start at 5.0V then goes up to 6V and 2,8Amps.. really impressive, you can fully charge the Mi6 in 90 mins from 0 to 100%. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKZZHnF0qWI

First the Galaxy S8, then the Mi6 and now the Sony Xperia XZ Premium all dropped QC4, despite featuring the Snapdragon 835 SOC. Something's amiss.

I have Xiaomi Mi 6 on my hand.
Despite the charger says it can support the voltage of QC 3.0 support. The time I tested it last night, it only pull up to 1650 mA from the charger (didn't see the voltage).
But once I plugged it in on my Aukey charging station in its QC 3.0 port, it can pull up to 3300 mA during charge.
EDIT : nvm, now it can pull up to 3000 mA from the provider charger.

The interwebs would seem to disagree as the specs put maximum voltage upwards of 20v for both versions. Voltage isn't as important as amperage, in this case any way. QC 2.0 and 3.0 share similar voltage ranges, but the difference being 3.0 has smaller "step" ranges. So either will actually have variable outputs in voltage and amperage, but 3.0 gives the phone more control for better efficiency (i.e heat control).
Doesn't necessarily prove or disprove the charger version, but rather just pointing it out.
I would be inclined to agree it is a QC 2.0 based of the charger, being seemingly identical to the 2.0 charger from my LG G5, but the model number is slightly different.
Of course, it's disappointing the phone would not release with QC 3.0 if that's the case since it touted 3.0 compatibility, but I have a marked 3.0 charger that does not register 2.0 on the phone, either, so I wonder. I guess it's not that big an issue, especially since there is supposedly little difference in charge times between 2.0 and 3.0.

First off, let me say that I know nothing of what comes with the Nexus. I do, however, know enough about chargers to say this:
Yes, any charger should work as long as you have the right cable to fit the phone. If it's not QC certified, of course, it'll charge slower, and if it's amperage is low it'll be even slower, but the Nexus is a new enough phone it shouldn't be too slow.
A variety of LG G6 chargers and cables are available at amazon. You can also look at amazon, 6feet long usb 2.0 type c to a charging cables are available.

The amperage of the power source must equal or exceed that of the device. Our device is 9V/2A or 5V/3A. This charger is only 2A at 5V. Attempting to use it will cause the components to overheat. In quick fashion you'll burn out the charger at best, or cause a house fire at worst.

What about the one below:
https://torumart.pk/product/xiaomi-...-to-c-cable-compatible-latest-apple-macbooks/
Also are Qualcomm 3.0 chargers safe to use?
That one provides 3 amps at both 5 and 9 volts. The P2XL only requires 2A at 9V, therefore that charger will safely quick charge the P2XL.
The brand of charger is irrelevant here. The only two things that matter on a charger are the voltage and the amperage. I've already covered the requirements for amperage in post 3 above. The requirements for the voltage are that the voltage of the power source must equal the voltage of the device itself. Unlike the amperage, if the voltage does not match your device will end up permanently damaged.

Yep.
The plugintec device I wouldn't trust, though it apparently is capable of matching the voltage as well as match the amperage. The fact it has variable voltages is not something I've encountered. I would take a multimeter to the USB port on the charger and see what the voltage actually is, as it may not be correct for the P2XL.
The Huawei charger only outputs 2A at 5V, meaning you'd burn it up. The Xiaomi charger only outputs 2.5A at 5V, meaning you would burn it up, although that one would take longer to wear out. What I am not understanding here is why you do not simply get the actual charger. On Amazon they have it for about 20 USD (2,477.92 PKR) and I'm fairly certain they ship worldwide. The only thing you may need would be a plug adapter, if Pakistan doesn't use US standard blade plugs.

I would love to get an original one from amazon but the problem is the cost of shipping. If I could get it for 20 USD with free shipping I would go for it in a heartbeat.
I would find a way to do it anyway. It's the only foolproof means of ensuring nothing goes wrong with the device you spent a lot of money on.

I don't think it's only about the volts and amps. QC 3 might have some same profiles as USB PD but USB PD devices can't negotiate the profiles with QC protocol charger's. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
USB PD is only available on USB-C chargers that support the USB PD protocol.
For the pixel 2xl you need a USB-C PD charger that can do 5V/3A and 9V/2A for rapid charge.

Maybe Oct. 28th, on the official release date of the phone, but your guess is as good as anyone else's.
The stand is pretty dope, and I can't wait to get my hands on it but so far it looks like it's a TBD without any real solid date. I highly doubt it will be here on the 28th but before the holidays is my expectations.
Was thinking of getting this but the price seems very high. I only charge my phone's over night anyway so don't specifically need a fast charger, although it's nice to have. I'll probably just buy a different wireless charger from Amazon

True, from what I know it will be the fastest wireless charger on the market... So much so it comes with two fans

Nope.
OnePlus 8 had wireless charging at 30W and 50W on the OnePlus 9.
I got wireless charger from my OP8 but on pixel it will only do 15W. I got store credit on Google but even after that it will still cost me over 40!
I managed to grab OnePlus charger on Amazon at half price 2 months after release.

Well that's dope! I gotta find me one! But even than it's a twin cell battery which has two independent charging systems. Will the same 30-50w charging apply to the pixel?
By the fastest wireless charger, I was referencing to the Pixel line of wireless charging which will be up to 23w with the new wireless charger.
*Edited because I'm an idiot and replied multiple times

Nope
OnePlus wireless fast charging is proprietary plus pixel hardware does not support this. So using any other wireless charger will limit to 15W
I think any other wireless charger is limited to 12w in the pixels?

That's the point I'm trying to make, I'm aware of what others can do but I'm not excited by them. I'm excited to see what the new "Pixel Wireless Charger" will do! If you've bought into the Pixel line of phones, this release is exciting because going forward the Pixel is going to change the game, if.... It's done right! And yes to your point, wireless charging is one key aspect.
Sadly pixel charging always behind others like OnePlus and Samsung.

Pixel 6 Pro vs S21Ultra
I will not be buying the Pixel Stand 2.
I will be using the original Pixel Stand which will do just fine for me.

Yes, only 12W. I posted a link from the 9 to 5 Google article a few days ago in the charger thread.
Here it is again: https://9to5google.com/2021/10/19/pixel-6-tidbits-plastic-top-wireless-charging/
