That's your phone MID, not CID.
CID should be in the format of "HTC_***", where the asterisks (*) are digits.

No the CID is less specific than searching the firmware/rom/ruu via the MID or product code (A51_UL).
Have an actual try and see if you can find it.

[Q] HTC One X update hboot CID HTCCN701

Hello everyone,
I have an international HTC One X with CID HTCCN701, and I would like to install CM10.1.
I am not a noob , and I have already installed a Jelly Bean ROM after unlocking. However, I am currently on hboot version 1.12 S-ON Unlocked, and I could not find a hboot that is for my CID which fits the requirements (Version 1.28 or higher)
Moreover, though I know how to flash hboot, it would be great if anyone can provide a method to update hboot without changing the present ROM, recovery, and data on the device.
Thank you!
P.S. Please do not tell me to search; I cannot find a firmware here for HTCCN701
Does anyone have a solution?
Check for a newer hboot here

Is there 1.29 boot RUU for your device?
Or try this method, get back to stock with stock recovery, relock your bootloader then check for updates and update your device, and checl your bootloader version.

Hello everyone,
I have found a new firmware.zip for my phone.
However, because it looks suspicious, would someone please tell me how to verify if the zip is indeed real? (Not edited)

try to install it, if it fails to pass htc sig and cid check, it wont do any harm
Yes, I think there is 1.29 RUU, but isn't the hboot contained in it not up to date?
And, I have already checked for updates when I was on stock ROM back in mid June.

Thanks, but are you sure it will just refuse to flash if it is a fake? Because I saw on the forums that if a wrong firmware is flashed, the device could be bricked.
Another question is that is it possible to upgrade hboot without modifying system and data?

You would need s-off for it to flash if it's fake and upgrading the hboot doesn't wipe system or data , although unlocking the boot loader does

Only the cid will get you nowhere. The main version is important.
Fastboot getvar version-main
That number will tell the ruu number you need (if its available to begin with) and it tells the bootloader hboot version.
Cid is just a region number without additional info.
Ow and the command = fastboot oem readcid

Ye i know but didnt understand that CID thing. Now its OK.... Sorry. Someone else told that i can lock it. I dont realy know what to listen to hahhaha.
Everyone has his own opinion so im confused right now.
Well its not an opinion. If you restore the nandroid that belongs to your cid then you can relock it. If you restore one that has a different cid it will all work but you must not relock the bootloader. Only after an official HTC update ! Like i told you also by PM

Stock Sense WWE EU RUU

How long do these normally take to be posted by HTC after the launch of a device?
There are two types of ruu's. The first would be an .exe ruu, these come directly from htc and well you run them on your computer. These are hit and miss, sometimes they get released others they don't usually I've seen them when an update is released. Now the second type is just a zip compiled from a raw system pull. BUT. Please don't quote me on this and don't flame either lol. This one I believe we just have to wait for someone to compile it

You can do it with a bit of thought...
1. Use the 1.54.401.5 firmware package posted by @mike1986. to make sure you're on the latest build
2. Flash the stock, odexed 1.54.401.5 ROM also posted by @mike1986. to go back to 100% stock (and it's not a Nandroid)

You can just flash back the .5 FW, but you should be able to root .10 with the latest SuperSU package HERE

That's really odd. I am using the 1.99r3 release. Nothing happens though. Root just wont stick on that odexed stock firmware.

Perhaps report it in the SuperSU thread on here?

Even Superuser wasn't properly rooting. App installed but wouldn't give # in shell.
I wonder if there's another .10 file I can try and flash.
If not, can I reset tampered from in ARHD, then flash stock after?

You can do it with a bit of thought...
1. Use the 1.54.401.5 firmware package posted by @mike1986. to make sure you're on the latest build
2. Flash the stock, odexed 1.54.401.5 ROM also posted by @mike1986. to go back to 100% stock (and it's not a Nandroid)
3. Flash the 1.54.401.5 stock recovery
4. Set CID to HTC__001
That'll get you back as if you'd used an RUU
