My op3's screen now shows black and white static whenever it's supposed to be on. I am rooted using xposed. I need to unroot and return to stock in order to get it repaired by oneplus under warranty. How can I best return my device to stock without being able to see anything on the screen?

Check your warrant terms. Most probably if the dead pixel is not a result of rooting/installing 3rd party software then your warranty is valid for this issue.

I've been issued a fault code from phones4u for exchange I havent really changed anything barring rooting it, The only thing is when you switch it on when its unlocked there is an unlocked padlock icon on the spalsh screen
Do you think they'll check/ be bothered?
Download Titanium, remove superuser, then "fastboot oem lock"
I think that should work, then just factory reset to top it off

fastboot oem lock will lock the bootloader back and remove the padlock from the splash screen.

Ok so I did a factory reset and locked to bootloader and went to phones4u you...
all were willing to exchange it.
1 was closing.
1 didnt have any
1 had one and had been opened as a show phone so I refused it
and the final one had 3... all opened..
Why do they feel the need to open all the boxes ?
Finally got it exchanged this morning for a brand spanker.
Unlocked, Rooted
Just loading my music

Yes. What have you done to it so far?
I found one modified with a warranty still valid and im looking to buy it.
So im considering if i buy a faulty unit can I return it to stock and colect a warranty.
I now have Galaxy i5800 and i know i can make it to stock but i also have a xperia mini and i also know if i unlock boot locker warranty is invalid.
That was my dilema.
I personaly think this unit is sim unlocked, rooted, and custom rom and kernel is flashed (the whole 9 yards).

You can return the desire to stock from whichever condition you receive it. Hope this answers your question.
Installing an original RUU should reset everything to its original state.
If you've got a custom hboot, you will have to install the Bravo Downgrader hboot from alpharev first, afaik.
I've already heard of people who sent their rootet desire to repair because of a hardware defect and it was no problem - but I wouldn't bet on that .)
Hey guys!
Ok, here's the case, I'm having troubles with my HOX, probably it's lcd or motherboard, the phone's screen won't wake up most of the time, and you can feel vibration while touching the screen which means it's working and you just can't see it.
I'm preparing the phone to send it back to warranty, flashing back the stock recovery, relocking the bootloader and flashing original firmware (downloading as we speak). The thing is, I'm quite worried the warranty will be void due the re-locked status in the bootloader and I'm wondering is it possible to get it to say locked again or is it possible to somehow intentionally brick the phone so they can't even get to see it was rooted and unlocked?
Any suggestion will be highly appriciated

I don't think it's possible to make it appear locked again. But when my HOX died I just handed it back in.
Nothing helpful but just sharing my experience.

My colleague had problem with screen - with wake up. And when service saw relocked they told that it's related to the unlocked bootlader and installation of other software.... Warranty not void....

I've had numberous e-mails with HTC staff via htc.com and they told me that they warranty is NOT void by unlocking the bootloader or flashing a custom rom. it IS void if you do something wrong and brick the device.
Although, If I were you i'd still return to stock.
Hello. So I was wondering if I can lock my bootloader and restore my phone to stock becouse I got a screen burn in and I would like to send it to repair.. Now another question will be.. Does the warranty cover the burn in screen even if the device has custom rom on it since it is not a software issue.
Thanks in advance
No.

You can't relock the bootloader.
For the other thing, it depends mainly on where you are and also on how determined you are. In Europe, because of the relevant laws, people have tried with mixed results. (If you decide to try, it's common sense that flashing stock firmware before sending it back could help).
Hi guys,
I'm using Gingko MIUI11 official with Bootloader unlocked and rooted, also Orange fox installed. As per invoice my device is still under warranty. But as I've unlocked bootloader, give root access also using a custom recovery what should I make sure before visit Service Center. As I'm facing proximity sensor issue and I've troubleshoot and found its hardware issue. So before visiting service center do I need to clean flash official MIUI again, lock bootloader again? Any suggestion please. As its my primary device I just don't want to clean flash. Is there anyway or advice? Or there is nothing to do
Regards
The only way to get back under warranty is to clean flash and relock bootloader

no you cant claim warranty,
you already given root access to RN8,
unlocking dont void warranty but root will surely end warranty

don't try to lock bootloader, you'll brick your device,
just unroot and claim warranty
Ok sorry for so late... I've visited to my nearest Service center and repaired my device and Rooting or Unlocking bootloader doesn't void warranty said by the Xaiomi Service Center. Thanks to all
