Hello, i have a couple of questions and need help to decide if i should buy the LG G3 855 (BR edition) vs the Moto X Play.
Well, first off, independent of the phone that i'll get, i'll install TWRP and CM13, i can't have a phone without it.
So, is the G3 easy to unlock the bootloader (specially this version that i would get)?
Also, it's a 16gb of storage and 2gb of RAM (same as the Moto X play), but i have a huge question.
Is the SD 801 better them the 615 from the Moto X play?
How does CM13 run on that chipset too?
And last but not least... how is android dev going to this device, will it "die soon", or it's at full steam still?
Thanks

Only advantage of the Moto X play is that it's a newer unit compared to 2014 LG G3...
There's lots of tutorials here on how to unlock bootloader. I don't think you'd have trouble with it
SD 615 still can't match the 801 even if its octacore.
Aaand dev support is still solid and active.

Thanks M8, i was inclined to get the G3 as the only advantage of the Moto X play is the battery size.
But i heard that the in the G4 from my country, it is impossible to unlock the bootloader. As the G3 is, i'll get it

Hello everybody, I'm looking for a new smartphone to fit my needs. I actually own a Lg G Flex 2, and I'm unhappy with it. You may ask "why?". Well, because I'm very addicted to modding and all of these things. The locked bootloader etc. on the G Flex 2 made me really sad about this phone. Do you think it's worth to switch from a G Flex 2 to a Zenfone 2 (+ 30€)? Let me know, please. And most of all, this is not a "which one is better" so please don't argue too much. Thank you all!

My Opinion
1) If you want to buy Zenfone 2 then I suggest you to buy 4GB Ram version Only.
2) If you are interested in latest android only then go for Nexus (e.g: Nexus 5X)
3) 4GB RAM versions are also available in Oppo,Vivo, etc. (Search for it)
4) In Sony you can get waterproof smartphone. (Search)
Some Mid Range Great Smartphones:-
1) Lenovo Vibe X3
2) Samsung Galaxy A8
3) Huawei Honor 7
4) Nexus 5X
5) Nexus 6
6) Sony Xperia M5 Dual
7) Sony Xperia Z3+
8) One Plus 2
9) VIVO X5 PRO
10) and of course ASUS Zenfone 2.
But do whatever you want to do...
The Zenfone 2 is not going to knock your socks off, and I don't think it was ever supposed to. The Zenfone 2 is a nice hardware package (not big time, but nice) and the price tag on it is LESS than my first car. The development community seems to love this phone and we were promised android 6 this quarter. Just make sure you get the 4GB model, and don't make the mistake of ordering one online that seems cheaper than everyone else is offering one for (a lot, and I mean A LOT of people got hosed thinking they were buying the WW version, and instead got a chinese model that someone flashed WW software on it and can't get LTE). I ordered three of these from ASUS and all three work great. I love mine and this is the first phone that my son or daughter have not complained about, and they complain about EVERYTHING

i'm in ur same position ...i have xperia sp with GREAT deve community ....but i need to move since it's very old now(2013 phone) though it runs 6.0.1 with no bugs at all
gonna buy zenfone 2 after a month (till my exams are finished ) and i searched alot like VERY VERY alot
screen : it's not brightest nor the best IPS display but for the price u can't complain
volume : as i saw it's not that great...it's somehow little loud but it's muffled and tiny
hardware : 4g ram and quad-core 2.3ghz equal to SD801 or SD805 with only 300$ ....u sure can't complain about that
and ofc it got a great deve community with great ROMs and good official cm13 base
In all honesty, there are better options, I would go with the nexus or opo, I'm sorry I purchased the ZenFone 2.
From the current user of Zenfone 2, don't waste your money for it, you buy it as it is, no one care after that, more update bring more bugs, Intel has abandoned Intel Atom mobile CPU so if we are lucky, Android 6.0 is the lastest android version we could have on our phone, and if we are not, we stucked with 5.0 forever :3
Still great value for the $. It's not perfect but it's very functional.

Just buy a phone with Qualcomm inside instead of intel inside.
Thank you all for the answers!
Hey everyone , i know its a bit too late to buy a "Flagship" Device especially after 2 years but since my budget constraints it sooooo.... anyway my question is that i wasnt able to find 32Gig with 3GB ram so buying 2GB variant is a good idea ? i have seen lags on Nexus 5x and a reason why i didnt consider it , since G3 is an all rounder so i thought of buying it , Do you suggest me to buy it ? would it offer a satisfactory performance ? (i am not a fan of snapdragon 810/820) , i have been using Galaxy Note 3 (SD 800) and was never disappointed with it

Dont have 16 gb but 32gb with 3gb ram good choice but the orginal d855 not the refurbished one...also i think MM is the last official update for lg g3....but you can update non stock rom if you scrifice little bit camera quality....think so
I have had the 16GB D855 model for over a year now and handles everything I throw at it. Granted I cant comment on the stock firmware as I have been using Fulmis ROM, which in my opinion is the best stock based ROM on LG G3. Especially with all the tweaks, mods and the new UX 5.0 user interface included in the ROM.
Hello everyone... currently I have a Moto G first gen.. that doesn't suits my need anymore, so i guess i'll be buying a zenphone 2 by the end of this week, but I have a few questions, and would really like if someone can clear some stuff out
Zenphone 2, 4GB ram, 16GB rom, Intel 4x 2,3Ghz
1 Is it possible to cast it's screen to some TV? hdmi, USB tv out, or even miracast or DLNA?
2 Is it easy to root the phone? will lost data? can unroot? need to unlock bootloader? will the warranty be void if so?
3 I've heard the update is late, but will it get android 6.0? and 7.0?
4 Intel leaving the atom mobile market, will turn into a problem for owners of Zenfone2
5 Are the bloats a serious problem? hard to remove / affects performance?
6 How does it stand againt of some phones of the same price? maybe moto X 2014, Xperia Z1, LG G3,moto G4 plus?
7 Can I run some linux on it, or even windows reasonably? (was able to boot winXP on moto G with Qemu, but it was so slow, that turned to be useless, but linux was kinda better)
8 Is there some real difference beetween 4x1.8Ghz and 4x2.3Ghz?
9 Can i expect some not oficial android 8? will it have enough performance for it (I understand it's a guess)
10 How long does the battery last with screen on and wifi? (with moto G a can get something beetween 3H40m ~ 5H according to use and brightness, in other words, 2 netflix movies with a single chage)
and here's the last one, thanks for reading
11 Do you like it's indoor/night/artificial light photos?
I undertand it's a lot of questions, no need to answer what you are not confident about, but please use the numbers to make it easier to read and understand
Thank you very much for any help
What phone do you suggest for the future? I'm disappointed with Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 4GB, bad materials, bad support, ridiculous battery life and bad space management (phone is too big).
My priority are battery (not necessary a battery phone, but at least 6-7 hours of display), good camera (I want support for real slow motion, not the ZF2 one ) , good design (I would prefer a 5-5.2") and good software support.
My budget is 400€ and I need phones that I can found on Amazon (so don't suggest me phones like OP3 that are on Amazon at 100€ more).
Thanks
I was thinking about ZUK Z2 & Z2 Pro as my next phone after ZF2. Generally because it's smaller than 5.5" and probably should have similar performance.
This choice is made based on specifications from the web. I still need to check some reviews for this phone.
Maybe someone can say anything about this phone?
Or Galaxy S8 Edge + Gear Vr,, or nothing

The problem is that these phones like Zuk, Xiaomi and these "not top" brands, are not selling officially in Italy and they don't support 800Mhz (band 20) for 4G LTE, used a lot here, expecially where I live and with my carrier..so I need a "more european" brand, to have full 4G support.
I am thinking of the 5.5 inch Zenfone 3. I have been very happy with my ze551ml.

P9000 is not really better than ZF2, at least the 4 Gb version (unless you're badly looking for a fingerprint unlockable phone).
I used a P8000 before and although it's a nice phone, Mediatek processors are less powerful than other manufacturers' equivalent cpu's. If you take Antutu Benchmark as a reference (yes, we all know it can be faked, but it serves its purpose as a reference, and a way to compare two phones) P9000 scores between 45k and 47k, while my ZF2, which is the 1.8 Ghz version, scores between 55k and 57k. P9000 wouldn't be such a step forward, unless your ZF2 is broken beyond repair.
I'd stick to ZF2 until something significantly more powerful and affordable comes around. I've already seen some 6 Gb RAM phones, also with 128 Gb storage, but definitely not in the same price range as the ZF2.

My current "short list" of devices:
OnePlus 3
ZTE Axon 7
Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe
LeEco Le Max 2
LeEco Le Pro 3
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Sony XA Ultra
Nexus 6
Motorola Moto X Pure
I sincerely felt ZF2 not really worth the price , the hardwares are high spec but softwares are ****.
I got mine in June last year and as still pleased with it. Worth the price to me.

I'll not purchase ASUS anymore period.
I replace it with an Galaxy S7 duos (flat screen version), cost near twice but it's the best android phone available despite Pixel XL hype, the S7 is the fastest water proof dual sim better display, much smaller than the asus and pixel XL, features Knox and multitasking and Samsung voice recognition its available in Spanish and while not as funny as the assistant does very well when I'm driving, also read messages and emails features not available in Spanish from Google asistant o now. Ahh the S7 also includes HR sensor and wireless charging and cost 300 less than a pixel XL.
I can't find one with better specs than the Zenfone 2 and with the ability to use two sim cards and an sd card at the same time .

Yea there are, the Moto G4 has a dual sim version I don't know if can use the sd slot the same time but includes 64 internal storage android 7 and 0 bloat.
I don't use the sd slot often with 32gb its far enough to me even I have 3 games and 10gb+ in mp3, and when I need video for long trips I just plug an mini otg-usb pendrive.
But there is an mod for the S7 that allows simultaneously use the SD and two sim but implies devastating one sim that can't be uses on other phone anymore.

FYI Moto G4 has versions from 2GB/32gb 5HD" to 4GB/64GB" 5.5HD +fingerprint reader from 150$ (G4play) to 300$ (G4+), in some markets is offered with Dual-Sim feature, and spec-off its an high quality build phone, absolutely reliable with the fastest updated among non-nexus phones, even I considered it at last moment instead the S7.

Moto G4 plus Google says 4GB only on sale via Amazon in the UK checking Amazon I'm finding 3GB at £245 so when the 4GB version is out I'm thinking it will probably be north of £300.

Hi everyone ,
Looking for a new (2018-19) LG model, either global or EU version, that's currently getting development for custom roms and root with following specs:
1. Dual sim 2. Quad Dac 3. Fm radio 4. C-type usb 5. MIL-STD-810G compliant - IP68 and 6. If possible, also wireless charging.
I'd really appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this quest. Kinda troublesome with all these new models LG has brought out in the market .

The V50 's kinda exceeding my budget. I was thinking of somewhere around 300-350$ or less ofc.
Btw ,if my understanding from my readings here is correct, is that the G7 ThinQ is actually supporting the above mentioned requirements, right?

As I said , the v50 is above my budget, plus it's screen size is a bit too big for my taste and it doesn't have FM radio. So, to repeat my question, does the G7 ThinQ current custom rom development support all specs of the device? For e.x. is the dual SIM spec working, among others ?
Or are there any other LG dual SIM devices fully supported?
