hello + quick vibration question - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

First if like to say hi to everyone. Just got my HTC 10 today and came from an LG G5 where the forums were very quiet, I'm hoping the HTC 10 is more active.
I haven't owned an HTC since the M8 when it was released and I forgot how much ott the vibration use on them. Any way to dull it down across the board?
Already rooted and running Viper atm
Thanks guys

hello, your Desire will not be branded.. thanks to the people (and me) who had complained about the 1.24.161.3 uptade (vodafone branded, very buggy & slow!)
enjoy the phone, dont root or do anything with it as it is your first android phone so it would be very likely to brick the phone if you do not read & or know enough
I am pretty sure you will have 2.2, however 2.1 is not that bad so no poit messing around with the phone to get 720p etc.. for me- it made no differace, just wanted the horrible branding off!
nice to see someone live close to me.. never saw anyone clocer than london..
hope this helps & enjoy the phone

welcome, to the dark side !!
thank you all... that would be sweet if its not branded like my tp2 was....
im inbetween slutton & croydon and work in east london atm.
ive heard alot of good things about android, only every really had a lil play with 1 or 2 android phones in the shops, couldnt test the internet ect...
but i wasnt keen on flashing my phones, must be why i got so annoyed with the tp2.
i will check out the link posted, and i will probly be posting up about more stuff if i cant find it in the search function.
You wouldn't be dissappointed with the Desire, infact, you wouldn't be dissapointed with any of hTC's android phones, especially unbranded ones. I strongly suggest you to flash a custom rom tho, they are quicker and more efficient than stock roms and should lengthen your battery life compared to normal stock roms.
Well I hope you will enjoy the phone, and have fun in the Desire forum
started using my desire last night, havnt evan had time to set anything up on it, i need to get used to the touch screen, soo used to having touch & type lol
have installed a few things such ass whatapp & juice defender because the people i work with rate that app highly with there galaxy S's

ebay purchase of an HTC one x bad buy turned out happy after info on XDA

Hi everyone! my first post
I've been browsing here for a while and decided to go for an HTC one X off ebay. It was advertised as new unlocked and rooted. Seemed a little cheaper than the ebay shop prices about £70 buy it now cheaper so I went for it. It arrived and I put it on charge.
Switched it on it was boot looping so I called HTC support. THey talked me through the power and volume up button press and confirmed to me I had been sold a faulty phone and it was definately hardware related :-( although I was protected as It was bought through paypal and advertised as new. I read through the posts here and gained a lot of info on rooting and recovery procedures. After a few hours play It was up working! He had put LeeDrOiD One Xtreme V6.2.0.zip on the sd but not quite got to booting it up possibly not cleared cache etc. I updated the clockworkmod and put LeeDrOiD One Xtreme V6.4.0 on. Worked very well. Since then I've updated to HTC One maXimus V2.0 Android 4.0.4 Sense 4.0 base 2.05.401.2 yesterday upgraded kernel module to Franco's R11. I'm enjoying the site and will update my experiences as a noob with the development. Thanks a lot for all the superb info here as a great community you saved me a lot of hassle!
Make sure you press the Thanks button for any posts that helped you throughout. And awesome deal.
Welcome to XDA mate pretty new here also. Addicted to the site spend hours reading and soaking up knowledge- thanks to everyone. enjoy your stay NP_Watford

Your warranty is now void, you should have gotten a new one, get to know it and maybe then devide to root, are you at least still entitled to the 23GB dropbox? Anyways, welcome here..

[Q] htx one x official lillipop

i´ve owned an one X in the past, and i got a good deal now for an used one, haven´t followed the android scene or the xda scene at all this last year, and i was wondering if the one X will get officially lollipop, i checked out real quick the cm rom but there seem to be many issues still in developpment.
i´m gonna get one for roughly 125 euros with 1 year warranty left, i think its a good deal but like i said i havent followed the android scene for a while, would love to hear you guys opinions.

G4 Switch from Samsung Questions

Hello all,
Currently have the S5, previous phone was S4 (RIP unlocked bootloaders) and thinking about making the switch to this new G4. This phone looks pretty sweet and was wondering how the UI and everything is from Samsung? I'm sure some people here have made the switch. Tired of how secure Samsung is now with Verizon. Not an HTC fan, so figured LG was the way to go.
How's the development for these phones? I've skimmed over the G3 forums and seems to be some ROMs, but nothing much.
Basically, if you're stuck on Verizon like me, is it a good move to switch to LG since they seem to eventually get unlocked or be stuck with Samsung and TouchJizz for a little more while?
Or is the M9 just too good to not get over my hatred of it and select that?
Just some options here from you guys to help sway my mind, thanks guy!

I ditched Sammy note 1 on 2013 (No...its just simply died on me one morning on a freezing temperature.) then got G2 then G3 and now have both G3 and G4. And never look back cos Life's Good. Why not much custom ROMs? Simple answer we dont really need them so much. We Stock ROM developers and some tweaks.
LG UX 4.0 is awesome. Try it yourself when its available.

Thanks for some of your input! Much appreciated. Samsung has been a headache the last year alone because of all their government contracts now. They heartily beefed up their security. Add Verizon on top of that, and yeah, you get my drift. I lucked out with my S4 having it bootloader unlocked and chances are Samsung will never have another one unlocked. HTC and LG seem to get cracked within a couple months, so I'd rather take a chance with that than switch to crap carriers like T-Mobile.

shouldi buy the m9

Hi everyone, iam looking forward to buying the m9 soon, it is going to be the AT&T version. Usually in the ATT forums on xda there are many different threads almost everyday, but in the case of the htc one m9 there are hardly any new threads. Mostly the development threads are empty. So my question is, is there something i should know, like everyone converting to an unlocked m9 and discussing threads in this specific m9 forum? if no one is converting and there are no ATT threads then it would be rather pointless to get the ATT m9, i might as well buy the galaxy s6
I'm selling my unlocked M9 on swappa if interested!

This post is irrelevant to the question
95% of the activity is in the main M9 forum. Everything over here is usable on the AT&T M9. I got my M9 from AT&T and have been running WWE stuff on it from the beginning with no issues.
if you dont have an m8 then go for m9....
if ypu have something else like the m8 then go for m10 when released....
if you have money enough and dont care.....buy the m9 now and 6 months later m10...i will do this ;D
Thank you for clearing that up, but are the regular roms flashable on AT&T or do i need to change my cid
I just got my M9 and I'm loving it!
Actually I ordered both M9 and Galaxy S6 but decided to return the Samsung after trying out both in a couple of stores.
M9 is soooo much more refined to use both physically and in software.
I would buy this again in an eyeblink!
Changing to supercid is not necessary, but does make life easier if you want to update your firmware. Has nothing to do with the roms.
did the exact same thing. S6 was just ****ty touchwiz and made the entire phone lagged no matter what I did. HTC's software is just more polished and better, and with cm12.1 almost fully functional this phone will be awesome.
