Hello All,
Hoping someone can share a bit of knowledge and experience with me. I have been attempting to root and flash TWRP on my LG G Pad 10.1 LTE (VK700), but have been having a bit of trouble. The root seems to have worked, but I'm not having much luck with the recovery. I have tried every method I have read about for flashing TWRP, but each time I try to reboot into recovery, wipe cache, or factory reset... It sends me to a "fastboot menu" with only 3 options (restart, restart bootloader, power off). It also gives some info at the bottom of the screen:
FASTBOOT MODE
PRODUCT_NAME - E9LTE_VZW
VARIANT - E9LTE_VZW TOSHIBA 16GB
HW VERSION - REV_10
BOOTLOADER VERSION - N/A
BASEBAND VERSION - N/A
SERIAL NUMBER - VK7004A617007
SIGNING - PRODUCTION
SECURE BOOT - DISABLED
LOCK STATE - LOCKED
The device is not "bricked" and operates OK (although it seems to get stuck on boot sometimes), but I would like to begin trying out custom roms, if possible.
Thank you for reading. Any help is much appreciated!
Root might work but Verizon and ATT have locked bootloaders right? That is probably why you are having trouble. What version of android are you on?
There apparently is no recovery program for vk700. Shame.

I need help, When I turn on my Nexus the screen stays stuck on the Google start up screen. My phone is rooted with JellyBean. I have the Verizon version of the phone. I was also wondering how can I unroot my phone back to stock ICS?

Thanks.
Right now I'm still stuck at the google start-up screen which still won't load up. I don't know if I messed up my phone.
I'm not really tech savvy with the entire flashing and fixing, but I'll help you best as I can.
You're not in trouble even if the phone hangs on the google logo upon a boot up. If you can hold the volume up and then the power, you should have access to bootloader. You can boot cwm to install stock rom, which I believe will remove root (superuser) and return to stock ics or jelly bean depending on which stock rom you install. If you've unlocked the phone (which I assume you did), you can lock it again by using the command "fastboot oem lock," which will lock the device back to factory settings.
I've basically surmised the linked thread above. If you're still confused, look at this thread here. Cheers!

My phone is facing same problem, but with a twist and need help.
I did not unlock, root, or install any bootloader before, no CWM.
But my phone is now in bootloop, after a hang for unknown reasons.
I tried recovery, reboot, even fectory reset, but it just goes into a continous loop of google word logo, flashing trapezoids, and then a glitchy stop, then loop.
Sometimes it will just loop at the google word logo.
So I thought my original ROM must be damaged, and wanted to flash a new rom, hoping to fix things.
Problem is, I managed to unlock, but cant get through to rooting as whenever I try to root, it will attempt to run, but will end up saying :
FAILED <status read failed<too many links>>
Also i did not have USB debug before my phone went into bootloop. So now during rooting and attempts to install CWM, there is supposed to be a reboot and a change of USB debug setting required, which can't happen in my case as it couldn't even reboot to stock android.
So I am stuck with a bricked phone currently, when I didn't do anything in the first place...
details of my phone when in fastboot mode:
Product name - tuna
Variant - maguro
HW Version - 9
BOOTLOADER VERSION - PRIMEKK15
BASEBAND VERSION - I9250XXLA2
CARRIER INFO - NONE
SERIAL NUMBER - sorry not disclosed
SIGNING - production
Please let me know what i should do next... Hope to recover my phone
Thanks.
Make sure before you start, you have the correct drivers for your phone. Use this for your driver, and put the phone on bootloader. Make sure when you type fastboot devices, it shows the device. You can then unlock, boot cwm, flash either stock or other roms from there.
Hello All,
I would be really grateful to all who help me fix my phone.
Phone Specs:
Samsung Google Nexus
Make: January 2012
Board: Tuna
Model: Maguro I-9250
Bootloader: PRIMELA03
Problems and Troubleshooting done so far:
1. Unlocked bootloader using toolkits and manually but bootloader locks itself on restart.
2. Tried flashing stock roms using NexusRoor Toolkit, Android ToolKit and Odin but installation fails everytime.
3. Able to flash stock rom manually using fastboot commands but device won't boot, stuck at Google logo. Tried flashing many different ROMS.
4. Unable to enter ADB mode as it requires developer options, usb debugging which I am unable to perform as phone won't start.
5. Unable to flash custom roms or custom recovery as they require adb. Even unable to boot into temporary custom recovery.
6. Also tried OMAPFLASH Tuna, did not show any results.
7. Tried using CynogenMod Rom installer, it unlocks bootloader, installs recovery then system reboots and stay at Google logo. After sometime Installer says, installation failed.
8. Have spent 2 days fixing the problem, unfortunately, I haven't been successful so I had to start this thread.
Questions:
1. Please help me fix my phone. Or else should I throw it in dustbin as it is out of warranty and I can't send it to manufacturer for replacement?
2. Can I permanently unlock bootloader without getting it relocked after restart?
3. Can I install any custom rom without having to put the rom in sd card or having to use adb?
Apologies if I have done something wrong.
Thanks in advance........
I'm no expert, but I would guess your emmc is bad. Replacement main boards can be found on eBay for around $20. I've brought back two dead gnex by replacing the board. Its very simple, takes about 10 minutes. Good instructional video online if you Google. Good luck
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Edit: I found a solution. I was able to flash the older stock rom back on and was able to root from that installation.
Device: AT&T D850 10d
OS: Android 4.4.2, Kernal 3.4.0, Build KVT49L.D85010f, Software verstion D85010f
I've only had the phone for a couple of weeks, so I'm assuming it has any recent patches which may have caused issue. I've looked around, but I haven't been able to find this exact scenario, though I've found similar for the g2.
I first tried using Towelroot, but got the error that the device wasn't supported and so I searched around and found this tutorial (though I'm just now seeing that it is for T-Mobile devices if that has any bearing). I got down to step 14 at which point the device rebooted but stayed on the Fastboot screen only displaying:
[750] Fastboot mode started
[840] -- reset --
[850] -- portcharge --
[1010] -- reset --
[1010] -- portcharge --
[1220] fastboot: processing commands
and it doesn't progress from here.
Now the device will normal boot just fine, but anytime it boots into the fastboot it will stick at that screen. So if I reattempt the steps of the tutorial, I don't get past step 7 without getting stuck on that screen again. Also, I tried to do a factory reset and when it restarted, it just said "Fastboot mode started".
I've downloaded the files to attempt these tutorials:
- [Guide] LG G3 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock)
- Official bootloader unlock procedure from LG AND the one that works for everyone
- How to Unroot/Unbrick LG G3!
but I figured I would hold off until I got some expert input on the situation as I'm not even sure if they would help.
I bought my phone from a chinese seller, its the 1.8ghz 4GB Ram and 16gb internal memory version.
It already had the WW version of LL, I followed a guide in the asus forums and reflashed the recovery and the rom from ww (just to be sure it was not in the chinese rom)
Afterwards I did adb sideload to MM. So far so good.
But if I go to the recovery there are several issues, first off when I boot to the recovery it appears the "Error!" screen, I searched and if I power button and volume up quick, I get to the recovery. And before choosing to enter the recovery, fastboot mode??, there are some status messages and they show the product name, variant, etc. Some of them show unknown, BL_Version, HW_Version, Signing, Secure_boot
Is there any fix for this? Is it safe to unlock the bootloader like this? I think I might have a diferent bootloader, ie MM FW with LL BL.
Thanks

buddy you don't have any issue with your device. and the error screen while entering recovering mode is usual. if you don't like that flash twrp. you will overcome that issue. also fasboot screen showing versions as unknown is also not an issue.

Well I unlocked the bootloader, installed twrp and rooted using the new Toolkit available here and it still says BOOTLOADER STATUS: UNKNOWN in the toolkit window.
Also, now when I boot it theres an error screen saying that cant verifiy some signature, right before asus logo, is it because of the Unlock of the bootloader?
I know, I know, there are a million of these threads, however none seem to answer a question I have. Unless I skipped that one thread that does answer my question.
I'm sure my LG is way past the point of being repaired and so I want to wipe my data off my phone before selling it for parts. The phone is not rooted, is running 5.0.1., and does not boot into download mode (either crashes or loops me into a bootloop/green screen). How could I wipe all my data from the current state my phone is in?
Things I have tried as solutions:
-Flash with the LGFlashtool V.1.8.1.1023 from another thread [Failed/ does not complete past 0%]
-Install root [Phone crashed before successfully installing, when I was able to boot into download mode]
>I have tried using Kingroot, which did not work.
Phone state:
-Bootloop [LG bootscreen or Green/Black "Error" page]
>Sometimes will not even boot at all
-Can be detected by my pc but I am unable to transfer files
-Running Lollipop 5.0.1. and the model is d852 with Rogers
Any kind guidance is appreciated!
