Success after supersu bootlooping and non recognized usb on g4 - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Like a lot of people I have the eu version of the h815 and managed to bootloop it after following the garbage methods online for rooting .. I came here for help and found all the methods listed... lg up, lg flashtool 2014 etc.. the problem was that my phone just wasn't recognized by the computer, it charged well but that was it, lg bridge, lg up, lg flashtool.. none could find my phone.. I thought I was doomed to a soft bricked paperweight and even began contemplating the hundreds of pounds needed to purchase a new phone.. however after hours and hours of tinkering I cracked it and now have a working lg g4 again.
first off download and install lg up dll file
then install lg up but don't open yet
find and make sure u download the correct kdz firmware file ( I needed the h81520d file which I downloaded from storage cow as devtesters didn't work for me)
now head to your computer control panel and delete(uninstall) any lg mobile drivers that you see.
connect your phone through usb into download mode and leave connected
once that's done download the old drivers (4.0.4 I believe) and not the newest 4.1.1 or whatever it is now.
then open lg up and hopefully like me you see your recognized phone.
click upgrade (not refurbish) and click bin.. right of bin is the ... symbol.
hit that, choose your kdz file and voila.. let it work its magic..
DAMN IM HAPPY. HOPE THIS CAN HELP SOME OF YOU LIKE IT DID ME.

Bootloop after Xposed install, Hard Reset not working

Hi there,
i rooted my G3 using Towelroot and all worked fine.
Today i installed the actual Version Xposed Framework and after rebooting it entered a Bootloop.
So i tried to Hard Reset my G3 but when i confirm it the Android with the Gaers show up for a second and then my G3 keeps showing the LG Logo for a few Minutes till i disassamble the Battery.
Next step i try is to flash a firmware in Download mode, but i cant get the Drivers to work... =(

Have you choosen ART modality?
If i would say "what the hell is that" ... would u slap me?
No.. i dont have chosen that..
Bigger problem is that i dont get any usb driver working for firmware update in Download mode.. =(
OK... i managed to get the drivers working.
But further Problem ist now that im not able to flash anything on my device...
Neither the TOT Method, nor updating with the Original LG Support Tool is working...
Support Tool tells me my Model Number and that my Version is most actual.
If i update anyway it stucks at 4% and tell me it cant connect.
TOT Tool tells me that my Version Number is not correct... but it is..
With the KDZ Update Tool it stucks at 4% like the Original method.
Same problem here
Any one can help us?
Solution
Hi there,
the Problem was my PC...
I was on a Windows 8.1 64bit.
Switched to a Win7-PC and all is working fine.
You should try to use the Original LG cable, or another "Original" Cable and connect it to a USB-Port on the Back of your PC (directly to the Mainboard)
On a blank Win 7:
- I installed the LG PC Suite
- Updated the PC Suite
- Connected my LG in Download Mode
- Let the PC install all drivers,
- Disconnected the Phone
- Downloaded the actual LG Mobile Support Tool
- Let the Support tool do the work
After this i got my first OTA Update and its working like a charme

[Q] D855 Hard Bricked :(

Hello All,
I made a horrible discovery as I went to set my alarm last night that my G3 has managed to hard brick itself. It wasn't rooted but had a few emulators and stuff on it and at some point it has ruined the phone
It has the dreaded QHSUSB_BULK whenever I try to flash it or use the LG Mobile Support tool after say 2-4%.
I'm hoping (praying) that some kind G3 owner (D855 16GB UK Model) could upload or send me a debrick.img for the SD?
If not I'll have to try and claim the warranty with LG as my return window has passed with amazon unfortunately.
First android and a month later a hard brick lol :/
Thank you!
(I know it's almost certain I'll have to send it away)
Are you trying the TOT flash method or the KDZ flash method?
Whenever i see a firmware flash fail it's almost always caused from a usb issue.
Try not to stress, i bricked my phone the other night and couldn't get it to flash for hours and couldn't figure out why, it turns out the 2014 PC i was trying to use wasn't having nothing to do with flashing my G3, but a 10 year old laptop got the job done without any hesitation.
Here's the guide i used to unbrick my phone, like i said other then the PC i was trying to use this worked perfect.
http://www.androidrootz.com/2014/07/how-to-unroot-lg-g3-all-variants.html
Here's a list of things you can try:
1. Try different usb ports on your PC, try using the usb ports on the back of your computer, they are the most reliable.
2. Try a differnt usb cable.
3. Make sure you have the correct driver, You should be using the LGUnitedMobileDriver
4. Try a different computer to flash all together.

If it is completly hard bricked try this => http://open-freax.fr/guide-unbrick-your-lg-g3/
I know there's one on xda too, but in my opinion this one is easier to follow and easier to understand.
If you'd like to check the xda one out too, here it is => http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359
The download is corrupted and other is off

LG G3 D855 Wont boot in Download mode.

Hi im new to XDA Developers Forum, i just tried this Solution( http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/help-secure-boot-error-trying-to-boot-t3054977 ) and my LG G3 D855. Is in the same state as from User "DonnieDoezoe"
"Totally bricked my phone with these instructions Won't turn on anymore. Tried everything...only shows a trinagle if I connect to usb without battery."
Before i tried this. I had already rooted the LG G3 D855, and after these instructions i tried to reboot into recoveryTWRP( wich i flashed with flashify) i tried to reboot with Quick Boot (Reboot ).
After this my Phone doesnt work anymore and is just like in the state of a blacksreen( the phone is visible as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port(COM41), the only thing that shows is a triangle if I connect to usb without battery.
I searched for solutions the whole day and tried to unbrick it with the LGFlashTool by flashing the .tot file and .dll, but wont work because i cant enter to the Download mode.
I Hope some one gives me hint in the right direction on how to fix this problem, would much appreciate it.

Need help to unbrick an LG E986

Hello,
I had rooted and then installed free gee app.
Managed to install a cyanogenmod 12 version on my LG but while rebooting i was unable to type my phone pin , the screen just went popping . with another sim card with no code pin , the apps seem to work well ...
I then decided to revert back to a custom rom from LG ; While using LG flash tools, at 98% of the flash, the phone just suddenly went blank.
When i charge there are no lights and it's impossible to get download mode.
I brought the phone to a shop and the technician told that he could not download anything to the phone and was proposing me to send it to "LG" with additional fees without any warranty of recovery.
i have read on the different threads but so far i have not found any solution , all suggestions are welcome
Thanks.
Hello,
When i connect my phone to my windows PC, a device QHSUSB_DLOAD appears but i can't manage to assign a driver to this device though i manage to install the unified LG windows driver.
When i launch LG flash tools, the program is aborted because the phone is not visible.
Looking forward to a repair procedure wit the local LG center.
Thanks for any help.

Autorec Bricked my phone, need help

Hi everyone,
It's been some time since I last came here.
I am facing a problem in my LG G3 and was wondering if anyone here can help me.
My phone is D855 was on V21A, Global ROM, rooted. I was thinking about updating to 6.0, so I used Autorec to flash TWRP to backup everything before the update. After Autorec I used terminal emulator (as I always do) to reboot into recovery. And then, the phone kinda died. The screen is always black, no LED blink nothing.
When I connect the phone to the PC it gets recognized as AndroidNet USB port.
I look through the forums for solution and came across this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359
I opened up the phone and did the short-wire and my phone got recognized as Qualcom 9008. I used the tool named: BoardDiag and it could copy stuff to my phone.
However, the issue that I faced was that I could not locate the TOT file of V21A. I tried the TOT of V10E and it did not work.
I tried following the method of LGExtract tool to turn the KDZ file to TOT but that did not work either. What happened is that the tool turn the KDZ to CAB and then when I try to extract the CAB it says that it is corrupted. Tried another KDZ from another source and the same result.
What I need now is one of two things:
Either the TOT file of Global V21a
or a working method for KDZ to TOT conversion.
Thanks for any suggestions.
[UPDATE]
I tried renaming the KDZ to TOT but it could not be extracted to the right MBN files.
I am facing the same problem with my LG G3 D850. I flashed a D851 Variant version of the rom and after fixing the hard brick part i am stuck flashing the .tot file because its considering my phone as D851 model. I tried to flash the LGUP_8974.dll to try to fix it and nothing.

Same problem here.
did you find a solution????
Please HELP
.....
I used the same short-wire method and flashed the only TOT I could find, which was 10E. However, this time I flashed the system partition as well. In the guide it says it would take a long time so don't do it. I did it anyway. It took reeeeeeeeeaaaaalllllly long time. Over 4 hours.
After finishing flashing I place back the battery as indicated in the guide and the phone restarted and was stuck at LG screen. I connected it to the computer and it was finally recognized as an LG Android phone.
Then I used the official LG update tool. It detected the phone and said there was an update. I proceeded with the update and everything went back to normal. I even had the same data and apps because I did not overwrite the data partition.
I hope this helps.
