Hey guys,
I really hope someone will be able to help me out.
I will try and provide as much information as possible.
I own an D855 bought from Germany. The phone originally came with the stock rom 4.4 I believe. I had rooted the phone using purple drake. few days ago I update the phone to 5.0 Lollipop, the official version rolled out by LG.
I lost the root after update and didn't re-root. Today during work my phone had gone into a boot loop (Logo->restart->logo-Restart). I though "okay that's fine , when I get home I'll look into the unbrick methods and fix this easily" Wrong.
I tried using the instructions provided by the user zedomax on youtu "How to Unroot/Unbrick LG G3!"
Downloaded all the drivers and the LG g3 Flash tool. Also downloaded a European stock rom. I got to around the 6:35 mark on the video, removed the cable and replugged it. Then the phone just shutdown and started a boot loop again. The boot loop had now changed to Logo->Firmware update page->restart->logo->firmware update page->restart.
Now I can't put the phone into firmware update mode anymore and I am really scared the phone is hard bricked. What is the next thing I can try?
I am offering a 60€ bounty to whoever has a fix for this.
I can also try taking a video of the boot loop if that would be of any help.
If I would try and RMA the phone, does anyone know would there be any sign of rooting. I had previously had the phone rooted on the official 4.4 build (using purple drake) and then I updated to 5.0, but didn't root.

i have same problem with g3 f400
please help me
I have hit the dreaded screen flickering issue, and using the folded paper trick think I can convince ATT that my phone is in tact enough for a tradein. The problem is I think I need to be on a non rooted ROM for them to accept me. I'm currently on Fulmics 6.1 and am trying to use the LGUP tool to get back to KK and out of root. LGUP wont recognize my phone with Fulmics, and Resurrection Rom had the same sort of problem. According the the LGUP thread I need a non customized ROM for it to work. I've searched all over and I can't find one for the D850. Does anyone know a ROM that should work?
I got my lg g3 fixed running v30b and i rooted it got all the lg g5 apps but i dont have custom recovery so i cant flash a rom and everytime i replace the framework and system ui from the lg g5 it gets bricked and i have to flash a new kdz so can someone help me? Please
what the.... why are u trying to port framework without a custom recovery? it's not hard to install there is a program called g3 autorec that you can find online (not on playstore) that will install an old version of twrp for you and backup your current recovery, just make sure u get the right one, there are diff versions for diff g3 models.
Motherboard doesn't support android kitkat/lollipop partitions
Now thats my problem my motherboard doesnt support android kitkat or lollipop so if my use autorec my motherboard is fried thats what happened last time when i tried to downgrade to kitkat i want to get a working port of framework and systemui and maybe lge-res so i can get a taste of the white theme from lg g5 that works for all variants after that i'll use root explorer
Cool?
My software version is
D85230B
V30B for short
Android 6.0 marshmallow

First downgrade to kitkat (with a d852 tot or kdz), then root, then use autorec. After that you can flash what you want.

Pretty sure you just did something wrong. You say your device is a D852 (from your software version), the fact that a D852 kdz or tot is not compatible with your D852 because it was manufactured in 2016 is very unlikely. You also said that your motherboard was "fried" when you tried to downgrade (which is again, VERY unlikely), if your motherboard was fried you phone would be dead right now.
"now i want you to ...(blablabla)", don't ever say that if you want to get some help.

I said it was unlikely that the kdz or tot wont work because your phone was manifactured in 2016, not that your phone was manifactured in 2016.
That being said, I guess you don't understand really well english and that's causing some misapprehension.
I was not rude or anything, I was just trying to help you.
Have a nice day, I wont answer anymore.
I strongly recommend this thread is closed.
Hello!
I've got a little or maybe a big problem with rooting my LG G3. For now i've got android 6.0 Marshallow installed.
I spent on this whole day and I think i tried every possible way.
I tried stump root(i guess it only works for kitkat) , purpledrake root, kingroot..
Moreover I tried to downgrade to android 5.0 but my device is "unknown" for LG UP. Also, I tried LG Lash tool but it returned an error too.
Do you guys know any other way to root this device? Thanks in advance ;c
I got the same problem.
Hi! Sorry that I'm responding so late. I found that i had the problem with downgrading becouse of wrong LGUP zip.
I found correct one here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81kb6fqHxUo&list=LLF_c9VT9RRrxMaH_s9qwFWQ&index=1&t=283s in video description.
Now with LP installed root should be possible.
Hey XDA,
I found my sisters old LG G4 (H812) that I bought her several years ago, she is running a LG G6 now so the G4 has been stuck in a drawer for awhile. It powers up but has a small issue. Before she upgraded the LG G4 bootlooped, i sent it into LG Canada and they replaced the Mainboard. Hasn't bootlooped since but it has an issue of uninstalling apps by itself. Like the icons become green Android icons and it shows the app does not exist. Is this issue fixable? Is it a hardware issue? I don't wanna go rooting the phone to have it still auto remove apps until it removes a system app that causes it to brick. So idk what to do with it? Suggestion?

3 things you can try.
1). Do a factory reset if your'e on a stock rom (MM?):
2). Download a stock kdz for your rom (LG Fan Club) and flash with LGUP-NEW or use LG Bridge
3). Get with the program and unofficially unlock your bootloader with steadfasterX's brilliant work in this thread: [UNLOCK][UNOFFICIAL][G4] Unlock **ANY** LG G4 device with UsU (read everything very carefully and make sure you understand it fully) and update the phone to LineageOS Oreo or Pie with the latest Google security updates (staying on stock MM you will be a few years out-of-date in your security updates). You can choose any version of Open Gapps to install the Google apps you want. You do not have to root your phone if you do not choose to.
