Ok, my first thread and I have a questions and I would love to know if any other people have the same problem?
1. Permisisons.
Every time I restart my phone I have to do all the permissions for any app I have again before I can open them.
For example camera. Before it opens for the first time I get greeted by "Allow camera to access the device's location.
2. Locations.
In the past ( read on my m9) I would see what apps are using my location ( for example wechat). I dont have that with my 10 anymore? As a result I can not add people on wechat , even when they sit next to me, they can not see me in people nearby.
Does anybody else have these problems? I would not like to send my phone back to HTC Hong Kong as I live in mainland China.
Tnx in advance

i am not sure about the location.
when you give permission are you checking the box which it states don't ask? or tried to give permissions from settings apps and see if it asks again upon reboot.
if not try that

Just have it again. The pop up does not have the " ask again upon reboot". Where could I find that in settings?

Sorry for the late reply, I was so busy with work, and in the evening I had no time to do the factory reset, I will do that as soon as possible and will let you know.
Hi san5324, how did this story end for you?
I have the same problem, like I wrote here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68554364&postcount=13
For me it's not every day that it occurs, just sometimes. But it's annoying nonetheless.
Hoping you found an answer...

Hey so sorry for the late reply, I just stopped restarting the phone but directly switching it off. Its annoying af. I still have locational problems with wechat where I can not send a friend request. No more htc for me.
Thanks for replying. My problems have been solved after not using sd as internal storage anymore.

Anyhow, When i launch quick connect from the drop down window, it says theres a new version and to update it. But when i try to update it it yields an error -

bump.. nobody?
Same here. Error code 4002. What the hell Samsung>?
I don't get an error, but I've found the feature mostly useless.. I connected to my wife's phone and sent her a simple pic. It was a pretty big hassle. Was much easier to just text it.
One useful thing was to screencast to my roku. Worked fairly well, but I would rarely use it.
Me too
Same issue for me...
Annoyingly, I can the Chromecast in the background which it won't let me choose...

This 'Quick Connect Update Error' thread was the reason I joined the forum. I saw people having the same issue so I wanted to 'share the love'.

Just did an update to Quick Connect and now I can't find my roku 3 when I search for devices. Very disappointed. Any suggestions? I don't know how to go back to prior app b4 update.
I'l getting this error too. I'm very unhappy with this new tablet. The software is busted out of the box

quick connect just tells me to update and when i press update, it boots me off back to home screen. Very frustrating to have a feature you can't use, or delete, or fix. I have a T-mobile Note 4. I can't figure out any solution for it, except to wait for marshmallow update 6.0. Maybe it will become optional in settings once the update hits.

Thanks I was having this issue with my old S5 and this worked perfectly.
Well I did a video to explain the issue, but no HTC clocks work. I started having this issue this morning. I accidentally dragged it off screen, now they won't come back. I'm sure it's something simple, but I can't figure it out. Only had this phone for about a day now.
Video Link
Also, while I have an open help thread, hopefully someone will know, is there a root method available for the M9 yet?

Firstly, there is root and S off for the phone, S off is £25 root free its all in the forum, and the search option works well.
Secondly a quick factory reset will resolve this for you, but why not just re-add the clock via the personalize option?

Well adding the widget back doesn't work, as shown in the video. I'm not sure if that link worked or not. But it just disappears. I was hoping there was a setting that I checked that messed it up. As for the factory reset, I want that to be the last resort. I finally got it working decently. I hate sense, but if I have to use it, I have to have it set up a certain way. And I finally got it right, know what I mean ?
Try restarting your phone.
Alternatively, go to Manage Apps, All, and stop Sense Home. If necessary, clear Cache and clear data. You probably will lose your sense customization..

Hi,
I have noticed suspicious activity on my google account which shows the device is being used in somewhere in Europe. I changed my password and did a factory wipe on the phone but I still see same behavior on this device being simultaneously being used in Canada and Europe.
Has anyone noticed such behavior from the device and what's your advice on to fix/track the issue?
Thanks

No problems with mine but I do have two step verification enabled with google - not known if that makes any difference.
I also have the two step verification enabled and didn't get notified by google that my phone was being used in Europe as the same time it was being used in Canada.
I did change my google account passwords but still the same issue.
Post which retailers you got them from if you are having this issue. There may be a common theme ....

Mine was also from Splendor, but I have checked my google connected devices and where they are connected from and have 2 step verification on. My phone is not mysteriously connected elsewhere. I would start looking at 3rd party apps that you guys might have installed.

wipe the phone mught not be enough, if somehow the seller unlocked, flashed it, and lock the bootloader, the only way to get it clean is doing the same thing: unlocking bootloader and flashing the factory image. that's what i would do, and that's what i always end up doing to root the phone

Hi @sd97cl
I would suggest you take a step back and ask yourself if, in your case, you would reply the stated question.
If you don't, know that on XDA it's an unwritten common sense rule to not support what can be a suspicious attitude. I do apologise if it's not your case but I do emphasise the "can be".
Still remains, as you've suggested, the option of factory reset.
Nice regards and good luck on your search,
.

If you tried too many times you get locked out for 72 hours until you can try again I think... never been there, don't want to.
I regularly backup to the SD card... just in case.

Lol, those countdowns are enough to permanently traumatized anyone
I like the one "Adroid kernel has stopped" it starts a few minutes apart but eventually gets to about once a second. Or sometimes there's no "countdown" warning at all, surprise!
Try navigating to Device Administrators in one or two second intervals to deactivate a package blocker.
It's that or a reload.

malware issue : my galaxy a72 device has got any malware or virus that's not recognisable by any antivirus & it turned itself as system app. also it replicated itself intomultiple copies as various names. it causes system lag & anytime it makes the phone taking touch inputs, after itphone gets totally unusable. touch works again after reboot but within a little time it quits giving touch responce again. I hard reset my phone but the problem is persistingly the same. I don't understand how to get rid from this. Pls anyone help

I can not see other way than factory reset, or?
I'm experiencing the same issue; the malware has turned itself into system applications, and now can't be uninstalled or allow me to revoke permission access. It doesn't affect the speed of my device, though, but it affects other areas, such as legitimate websites and, well, my privacy.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+, and my model number is SM-956U. I have more information on my profile, but I'll attach a screenshot of what the malicious applications look like.
