GT N5100 - Colors are too saturated - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

I get a handdown of GT N5100 from my dad. First time having Samsung device and I think the colors are too saturated. I need the colors to be accurate since I want to do drawings for school project on it.
Is there any way to adjust the saturation?
I am using CM 12.1 and have adjusted live display but still, the saturation is the only thing i need to adjust. Thank you and sorry for any mistakes

Any solution?

[Q] Epic 4G Touch 720p Display

Since our phone has as many subpixels as the 720p display on the Galaxy Nexus, theoretically wouldn't it be possible to make android do same resolution for our phones by using the same amount of sub pixel to pixel ratio?
I Introduce you to this thread.

Let me introduce you to this post in the same thread...

This is what I'm asking about. The app idea is great but thats not really changing resolution, its just making everything smaller.
The hardware driver for the screen is not designed to handle less subpixels at a time, and is hardwared for 12 per pixel. Even if we could change that we would have to create the drivers from scratch to handle that. None of the source is available on our drivers. Its just too much to ask.
Thanks for the informative answer

[Q] Let's fix the tonal balance of our display!!

Since when I got the Captivate Glide, I have noticed that the screen color isn't simply saturated, but its Amoled tend to a green tonality. Today, while browsing Voodoo Project's website, I discovered that not only the problem is common to all the Samsung Super Amoled devices, but, furthermore, they have been working out a solution for the Samsung Galaxy S and its siblings. Now, I am not sure if that exact mod can be ported on our Glide, and how to patch the kernel with it. I am trying to get in touch with the main developer (mostly to ask him about Voodoo Sound and how to mod the kernel)... Anyway, are you guys aware of any other effective methods to fix the colour balance of our telephone?
Cheers,
Tony
Use voodoo color... should be able to

If it had worked out of the box I wouldn't have opened this thread.

[Q] Note 10.0 2014 Visible Digitizer Matrix

Hello everyone. I have been reading forums on this website for a long time and I must say there is tons of useful information over here. So thought I should become a member too.
Recently I Bought Note 10.1 2014 Edition LTE version. I was expecting it to be much better that its really is. The display is nice but there is lag on this Tablet. It stutters during web browsing. I have a note 3 also which is much smoother although it has 1.9 Ghz Exynos processor as compared to 2.3 Ghz on this tablet. Anyways I have read on net that may be its because it has double the amount of pixels on display as compared to note 3 therefore it has some amount of lag.
Ok my main question to you guys who already own this tablet. In reflection of light I can see the Digitizer Matrix all along the display. its a bit annoying looks like faint sctraches on the screen. I have used many android devices but never experienced anything like it before. while looking as it directly with no light reflection it is not visible at all but even in faintest light reflection is starts to become visible even with the display on
So is it normal or a defect?
Help would be highly appreciated.

Have you used a device with an inductive display before? It puts out an electromagnetic signal which detects the presence of the pen. That's why the display looks different. I've been using mine since November and have never noticed the grid in everyday use. As for lag it pretty much went away with the 4.4 update. If you're already on 4.4 and the display grid is going to bother you return the device while you still can.

The visible matrix does not bother me too much when in use. The display is still beautiful.
I am still on 4.3 coz 4.4 is not available in my region yet. Lets hope once the update is made available in my region, lag will reduce.
The gaming performance however, is better than on note 3.

4.4 is rolling out painfully slow. What region are you in and what model number N10.1-14 do you have? Chances are you can safely download and install a compatible region's ROM without changing the status of your device or tripping KNOX.

You can download the HK 4.4 ROM here.
http://samsung-updates.com/details/30043/Galaxy_Note_10.1_2014_LTE/SM-P605/TGY/P605ZSUCNF1.html
Many people on the forum are using ROMs from other (but compatible) regions because 4.4 hasn't been rolled out to their specific region yet. I'm using a Panamanian ROM on a SM-P601 from Trinidad. They work fine. There can be some oddity (I still have lock screen widgets which I shouldn't and don't have Daynote when I should) but everything else works as designed.
If you've never installed a non-standard ROM on your device do a Google search on "Odin." It'll link you to s/w you need to download and provide you with instructions. I can answer any questions you might have. There's little risk and it doesn't affect your device's status (it stays "official") or KNOX. For me, 4.4 was like getting a new tablet.
Yes I am sure 4.4 solves many issues. I will try the above instructions today. thanks a lot and best regards.

Hi due to political instability in my country, my office is off nowadays and I finally got some time to update my software.
I installed P605XXUCNF2 version which is from NEE region. At first I was not sure but then the lag and stutter in my tablet forced me to go for it.
Downloaded from this link

Like you said Barry its literally like having a new tablet. The lag is gone and overall it has become really smooth.
Thank you for your advice without which I would never have found the solution.
God bless you bro.

i just thought i'd pitch in, theres a setting in chrome you can change to eliminate that lag - it just doesnt allocate enough ram for the resolution its rendered at by default.
Wow another thread about lag..I have had this tab since Dec 2013 ..Never had lag, no issues ever... I have a life, so I don't sit and stare at the tablet all day and pick at it. It's Android . And Sammy it will have some issues...There are quick easy fixes for the mysterious lag people are complaining about. This is the best tab out for this year..The Tab S is the same tab minus the pen..it only has a better screen ..but that could be debated as well.

The amoled display will considerably increase battery life and will have better contrast. Its a huge improvement.
Other specs of tab s is same as note 10.1 as far as I know.

[Q] 2 questions for sm-217s variant

My first question is this: What variant roms can I flash or is 217S roms all I can use?
My second question begins with a short back story. My vision is fading so I bought this Tablet so I can see it better. No matter what font size I choose, the font remains super tiny except in the settings menu. The font is even smaller than the font on my Galaxy Note, Note 2, or Note 3. Is there a way I can make the font larger so that these old eyes can read them without a magnifying glass?
Thank you for any and all replies.

Flar2, who's one of the best kernel Devs out there, and came up with HBM (high brightness mode) has said that's it not yet possible because of the LG panels that the P2XL uses. So I'm afraid your outa luck for a while bruh ?
Try a different theme which will enable nore contrast.

Thank you for your suggestion Dieselhazza but I need to raise the lux/din of my display over the limits set by Google/Lg.
Do you know if is it possible having also my phone magisked?
Has anyone found a mod to raise the brightness... Anything out there. HBM only pushes to Max Brightness and doesn't support Pixel 2 XL. And I've heard about the screen burn in issues. Obviously it'd be at my own risk as with any mods on these forums.
Greatly appreciated for any support.
Thanks...

No mod as of yet, unfortunately! I know flar2, the Dev for Ex kernel and the app has been trying. However, doesn't sound like the LG panels are conducive to this mod

Cool. Thanks guys. I can always enable high Contrast and theme with brighter colors. Looking for the app. If was a significant difference with Flars work on the Pixel XL.
Gotta travel the next few days and miss it when I'm outside... Although I usually flash back to stock, whenever I'm out and about. I'll be back on Validus by Thursday.
