Hi,
The method that works for sony z5 premium to change default screen to 2k applies to the SWR50 smartwatch. see here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-premium/general/changing-resolution-default-to-2k-root-t3282319
Just turn on debugging via adb on watch, if you dont have dev options enabled tap build version 5 times. Then enable debugging via dev options and make sure you have adb tools installed
adb.exe shell
default size is 320x320
@Tetra wm size 480x480
leave the default wm density at 280
This stays after reboot until you set wm size back to default
you can get more info on screen and the cards look better, I haven't found any problems yet. will report if I do.
good luck
Its working, but for me the notification text size is now much to small, back to 320x320 .

You could go back to 480x480 and increase text size in settings
It works fine too whether the font size is really much smaller. Tried to use larger size font, but still too small. Perhaps need time to adapt to it.
Ha, would love to see a couple screenshots of this before/after comparison. Interesting little tweak.
if I'm not wrong, this only "emulates" a higher resolution scaling screen content, so shouldn't be a problem, but u notice a decrement on battery life?

Hey! Those are some fantastic times there for battery... Out of curiosity, what Build# are you on for your ROM? If you're using one of the 6.0.1 releases here, what kernel are you using? 2core or 4core?
Thanks!

Wow. I'm quite new to smart watches and android wear. How do you achieve such battery time? That's insane... Today is the first day, that my battery lasts for two days. So I'm curious what settings you are using. Also it's not really clear to me which kernel you are using. Am I right that you are on stock?

How did you get to see the battery% in the faceplate? i have the default skins and none have that option
Its a stock watchface from sony
works great but some watch faces don't like the 480x480 (eg ranger face) only covers half the screen so reverted back to 320x320
Maybe 400x400 might work better. Huawei watch uses that. Or maybe changing the dpi at 480x480 might work. Does it look much sharper at 480?

Guys... you do realize that changing the virtual resolution does not make the screen sharper?
Just leave it at 320x320 (which is the physical res), there is no benefit of a higher resolution.

I was wondering what is the best DPI for my Galaxy Note 2, I tried other people's suggestions but it didn't work for me so I was wondering how Google decided on their DPI. Considering they're in charge of Android they must know the optimal level so I used the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 4 as reference:

So if Google designed a 5.5 inch screen device with 720x1280 resolution, it would most likely be at 270 DPI
I know this won't help a lot of you how it helped me but just thought I'd share it just on the hunch that it might at least help the 1% :silly:

My personal favorite is 240 which is 25% less than the standard 320. It is best if you could use the dpi per app mod if you are running a touch wiz based rom. I am personally on the aosp vallina rom and loving the customization. Some apps work better with a higher dpi like the one you use to scan for example a starbucks card and other like email work better at a lower dpi. With android you can customized your dpi per application.
I use 220 system wide, and make exceptions as needed.

I use 240 system wide only changes I needed to make were to contacts, camera, and calculator apps. Also the samsung keyboard didnt like the 240 dpi but there is a mod for that. I like the look at 240. Couldnt imagine going any lower.

I am using Liquid Smooth, Android 4.2.2, Matrix kernel overclocked to 2.0GHZ, at 182 dpi. I love it!! Its like having a tablet as a phone. Google Play shows completely different, gmail is in dual view mode, and everything just shows up so much clearer and fresher. I wouldn't go to 160 dpi as things are too small for me to tap on while I drive. 182 dpi is by far the best resolution to me.
Nice one!
I loved your idea but I would like to point out that you have disregarded the proportions by taking the average of the two devices. Mathematically speaking, If the display was ((4.7+7)/2) = 5.85 inches your calculation would be sound. But if you consider the proportions we get,
213+[(7-5.5)/(7-4.7)]*(320-213) --> Using the interpolation method (Never thought I would apply my statistics knowledge like this)
= 282.78 dpi
Though personal preferences may differ.
I love 182 dpi but I was curious I'm running touchwiz rom and using xposed. Is there something I can change the DPI on to get the status bar to not show up all small? Thanks!

I want to start with saying that this theme is an paid theme through google play but I attached the uzip for the widget to left.
In other word, that one is free of charge and modifiable!.Just wanted to let that be said before anyone goes rampage cause I put a lot
of work in making this. The 4 months of wait for UCCW to implement high resolution support was terrible (not complaining!) ;_;
The last screenshots shows the beta version I created. As for now, the theme takes up the whole screen as you can see in the other screenshots.
To emphasize, I tested this on my Nexus 7, the widgets should fit perfectly.
If you're a N4 user you might have seen it over there as well. I thought I maintain a thread here as well since after all, I'm a N7 owner!
Installing uzip theme files:
Download UCCW and add a UCCW widget to your homescreen, select "uzip" and browse and select the theme.

Ok, one issue I changed some hotspots, now the widget shows up blank (white). I assume just remove the widget and set it up again? Didn't see a refresh setting in UCCW.

Did it work out in the end? Sometimes uccw shows white widget when refreshing for a split second, but it should get back to normal right after that.
Didn't do it on my vibrant, so just removed and readded it and edited it all at the same time. Had a few moments where it just showed image place holders and no images.

Did you maybe consume all the ram available? Another thing, how does the widget look on the vibrant? It got a display of 480 x 800 after all and the theme was recommended to be used on a 720p screen.

You can see the ram consumption in settings, sometimes uccw can take up to 80mb which is one of the reason I recommend this on a phone with at least 720p (those phones usually have decent specs). Thanks for the screenshots, how does it look in real life though? I will assume the text is barely readable?
369mb for memory under the settings.. Running Paranoid Android 2.54 (android 4.1.2). Text ain't too bad, I have it setup in phablet mode anyways to get more space on the home screens.

Yeah, I have no idea what is taking google so long to review my account. Just sent them another email (an hour ago) asking them if you're even working.
Gotta love Google... I know one of their things, if an app is downloaded from any updates have to be done through them as well. Not to mention anything within the app can't be downloaded from outside sources either. Do I sense, Apple's methods coming to the play store? lol

Though abt the LE Dpi Changer I dont think it works on the oneplus 3 as dpi setting is absent in the buildprop. I changed my dpi using adb command.
adb shell wm density 290 && adb reboot
Update.
Tried LE DPI Changer.
Enabling use Shell WM for setting dpi works like a charm. Changed to 340, updated whatsapp profile pic. It worked fine. Then changed back to 290.
Well it works for me and many others.
Ive attached the screenshots at 290
Yes my dpi was changed to 400. And thanks for the help.

Hi,
I got the same issue. Also posted on Oneplus Forums.
I had earlier tried to use LE DPI Changer..
First, clicked on Set DPI. and then clicked on Edit Build.prop. It then created a New Build.prop and after reboot I ended up in Boot loop. Checking the Build prop from within Recovery showed me only one line which was of LCD.density. All other entries where gone. I had to replace the backup Build, prop and uninstalled the LE DPI Changer app.
Could you guide me how do you get a successful change ? also, cn you confirm this issue was resolved after the DPI changed to lower ?
Thanks.
Edit: Le DPI Changer worked like charm. Though the problem was not resolved. Tried changing it to 400,320,290. Still the image is zoomed.
any ideas ?

Switcher 4K
Hi,
I built a simple app that allow you to quickly switch the virtual resolution between default 2K and 4K without a computer.
Unfortunately, since the command is not available on the userland, the process needs superuser permission to change virtual resolution.
If you somehow manage to break your resolution, especially leading to crash loop of Xperia Home, check on other topics how to restore the original values.
Since the custom feature can be "dangerous" for the reasons above, I added a check when save and switch custom values to avoid any resolution under [email protected] (Z5 Compact default values).

Nice work friend. :good:
Hey,
Released v1.2 that add custom values support. Check the first post.
If anyone have more accurate values about the limit resolutions supported by Xperia Home, let me know I will update the security checks.
Looks good! Thanks !

Yes, it is one of the goal of this app, being able to switch back to 1080p without a PC to use apps that doesn't support 4K.
The phone app is the most common known issue.
Is the battery consumption less?
Not much for usual usage, I suppose much if you play 3D games.
There is another topic I don't remember where speaking about this.
When set to 4k, the phone app no longer goes. g8141

You mean during the resizing ?
Get the screen flashing light and dark like screens messed when it's not though works perfectly. Then suddenly get flickering
Wow looks like weird...
What definition are you using ?
As described looks like a screen issue of your phone.. It happens in 1080p too ?
I saw that the best dpi on the 4k resolution without crashing any app wasn't 807 but 706, 720 or 721, I don't remember exactly sorry

As far as I know, it does the exact same thing as the ADB command (except through an app).
It said that the newest file couldn't be found (error: 410)?
I tried the older version (1.1) And the program doesn't seem to do anything, is there a way to check?
