Hi @ all
Does anyone knows, if the original Samsung LAN/USB Hub ET-UP900 will work with this tablet? Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to post a link.
I'd like to fit the tablet into my car, use the two usb-ports for sound-out and external hard-disk, use the micro-usb for charging the tablet while using the usb-ports at the same time. LAN port not needed.
Does this work?
Greetings from Switzerland
Patrick
I've been wondering that my self??
Anyone?
I have just checked on the Samsung German site and when you select our model of tablet it comes up and says not compatible. Although I personally would take that with a pinch of salt. Shame it was not a little cheaper then I would just buy it and try it lol.

Also looking at the specs closer it is for use on the Note Pro so there is absolutely no reason why it would not work.
Assuming that too, but too risky to buy the tablet and the hub if something won't work after all...
So I'm hoping that anyone is able to check it out.

So, guys, after a few tries with other devices like Multimedia Dock......cause i can't believe, that its not possible to use usb and charge at the same time, and ALL other devices definitely Don't work, I buy this at conrad electronic in munich, cause there I know, I can bring it back, and get money back, if it doesn't fit......and, I wonder very very much.....it works.....but I only tested usb and charge....and device check it as a usb connector....thats important.....I dont know why, but multimedia dock won't work, it doesn't be shown as a dock, no charging. ....but it works with note 3.....strange.....but now im looking for a way to connect it to LAN. If I connect it, nothing happens, no internet connection.....how it will work on pro? An app needed? Cause in settings are no options to configure a Lan Connection......I think, you will need ipv4 settings for.....or it is done very simple and there is a simple script in the firmware of pro devices? Anyone knows? Im searching the internet, but found nothing about......
Ah....and the reason for searching this device is: if you want to use a bluetooth keyboard, you'll have problema with bluetooth connection all the time....I figure out, pairing it new every time is better.....but at this device, wlan an bluetooth must be going over the same modem or hardware, cause if you use both, wlan and bluetooth for keyboard, you got massive trouble with internet connection and sometimes you cant connect to your access point.....really ****.....I try an usb keyboard , wireless from Microsoft with pad....and this works perfect. ...but then, you can't charge anymore.....with any hubs or something, no chance, and all older devices wont work.....damned.....does anyone have a solution for the bluetooth trouble? I try the bluetooth fix apps also, they help a but for bluetooth problems but not for the wlan disaster....whats the reason for ? The radio?......wil be happy for any answers.....
you running kit kat or?
After seen the spec and it probably wont work. ET-UP900 need USB 3.0 port and Note 2014 only have USB 2.0 port. Maybe some kind of USB 3 to USB 2 adapter might work.
The USB 3.0 Port is just for charging, for example with a wall plug...
sent from htc one...
I'm thinking it's more of an issue with drivers or kernel ....
That's why I'd love to hear from someone with KK installed
Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) should work!

Just got my brand new official Samsung USB lan/Hub. And..... it doesn't work. The usb part of it seems to wok ok, but it doesn't detect ethernet. The user manual wants me to go into the settings --> more networks-- Ethernet connections... BUT I have no such setting
planing on playing around for a little while longer, but sorry to say lads, it doesn't seem to work.
suggestions?
Seems that I atleast have hit a wall with regards to getting this to work. Anyone have any bright ideas? or dark ideas for that mater??
Anyone actually managed to get this to work?
Ok, guys.....i think, you mean the adapter for Note pro? I got it, and it works. .... first, i bought this, cause it was the only USB adapter, that charge and using usb at the same time with p600........... and then i try to get Ethernet work. ...... the thing is, you have to know some things about ip4 connections, this is a kind different to wifi connections. ...... but i can offer you good news, the adapter works. The thing is, the firmware of p600/605 isn't modified to say the apps, they can connect to Internet with ethernet. ..
With the Adapter, the connection works, if you look to your router, you will find your device in Lan network. ......
What you need, are two things. ..... first, the app "ethernet" from play store (need root), that gives your device the right ip address, subnet mask and the gateway. .... (you don't have to do anything, just start the app, and press "enable")...... and the second one ist xposed framework and the module "hack connectivity", this little tool will say all apps to listen also to Ethernet Routing, not only wifi....... for me, this ,works like a charm, if i come to office, i plug the adapter in, with a wireless keyboard usb plug, Lan connected and also a cable to charge my note 3........ than i just enable the ethernet app, and change keyboard to my own for external keys (external keyboard helper), and that's all, so i have Lan Internet (4 times faster than wifi), have connection to my pc, and a external keyboard and mouse. ..... that's perfect. ....
If I'm finished, i plug the adapter off, and disable ethernet app, it changes automatically to wifi. ........
For generally information : Android already have ethernet drivers enabled from source, also in Samsung firmware, eth0 is working, the thing is, the apps are just programmed to listen to Wifi only. ....... don't know why, cause it's just one simple parser line to get this working.....
OK, on a mobile, it's not so interesting to havea Lan connection, but on a tablet, this will really good and fast. ....
Try this and habe fun. ... but i don't understand, why Samsung have the pins of the 10.1 204 so stupid organized, that all docking stations and usb adapters don't work with charging and usb at same time. .... the note 3 Multimedia Dock will not be detected as a dock. ....... that's so stupid. ....... shame on Samsung. ... if this was my company, i will fire the engineers at the same day if they make such a ****..........

Thanks
I got this ET-UP900 adapter working with a SM-C115 by compiling a custom kernel. If you add the right drivers you can probably run use it with most devices.
During the build process of the kernel you run "make menuconfig". Here you select "Device Drivers" > "Network Device Support" > "USB Network Adapters". Include the "Multi-purpose USB Networking Framework" and "SMSC LAN95XX base USB 2.0 10/100 ethernet devices". If you add those as module you got to load them with "insmod mii.ko; insmod usbnet.ko; insmod smsc95xx.ko" in this order.
My current problem with this is that the device is not carging through the adapater. I guess there is another driver or option missing but I am still looking into this.

Once more Thank you!
his anybody already used usb ethernet adapter with the new google pixel phone? i know that some nexus phone support it natively but i cant find any info about pixel phone.
thank you
nougat 7
maybe someone know if nougat allow ethernet connection?
Just making some test.
Adaptors works with the Google nexus 5X, but don't seem to work with the Pixel.
Installed the "Hardware Info" app, and on the 5x, under Features > Android Hardware there is a line saying:
Code:
android.hardware.ethernet
This line is missing on my Pixel
Both phones are running Android 7.1.1
My asix usb 3.0 adapters worked well with the Pixel initially (Realtek USB 3.0 ethernet never did work). Since the last updates there are issues. The ethernet symbol still shows up in the notification bar when you connect the ethernet dongle but there is no working connection in any app, despite the browser. And in the browser only www.google.com works. You can type something and press search and it will show you the results list, but when you klick on one of them the page won't load. No idea what causes this.
It used to work on my 6P, but when I connect it to my PIxel XL it doesn't seem to recognize it. I'm using the newest update, January patch level. Nothing in the notification bar. But the ethernet adapter gets power and the port lights up on the router.
I can confirm that Ethernet is supported on both the Pixel phone and Pixel tablet running vendor Android 7.1.1. I'm using an Apple Ethernet-to-USB adapter along with a female USB-A to USB-C adapter that was included in the box with the pixel phone.
I don't have a Pixel XL to try but I can't imagine it would be any different...

Can confirm this as well with my Plugable adapter with the ASIX AX88179 chipset. The only difference is that I get some things to work, like Hangouts. YouTube videos play/load but the experience feels as if I'm browsing a post-apocalyptic internet. I've also gotten a speed test to work but the app thinks it's via the cell data connection. Overall, a very primitive experience but could develop with time if we're squeaky enough.

Yes, Youtube works here, too. I think it must have something to do with certificate permissions. It is pretty obvious that the pages that work are google services. Hopefully they fix it in the next update. Probably we should make the Pixel team aware of the issue.

Can you connect your adapter to a pc and check in device manage whether it's an asix or realtek adapter. I would be odd if they supported realtek adapters in the nexus but not in the pixel. About the notification bar: It will only show the ethernet symbol if wifi is disconnected. You should disable wifi first and try again. (I didn't notice because I used a usb 3.0 ethernet adapter with a 3.0 capable usb a to c adapter in a 2.4 ghz wifi network. In this setup the wifi connections was disconnected 'automatically' due to interference with the usb 3.0 signals. If you use the white usb 2.0 a to c adapter that came with the pixel or if you have a 5 ghz wifi router wifi won't disconnect.)

Strange, also have a non-XL Pixel and it doesn't work flawlessly here. Google, Gmail and Youtube work, but all other pages won't. Can you confirm that non-google pages, such as cnn.com for example, work with your apple ethernet adapter?

It's an asix AX88179. I'm using a USB 3.0 OTG cable. The device gets powered and my Pixel says it's supplying power to it, and the status lights come on on the adapter and the switch port. I disabled wifi and still didn't have anything in the status bar other than LTE. I remember there was a distinct icon on my 6P to indicate it was using the ethernet connection. This exact same adapter worked fine on my Nexus 6P, at least before 7.1 (can't speak for if it still does or not).
I'm guessing Google just removed the drivers from the kernel?
Sent from my Pixel XL
I posted some findings in another thread but it seems relevant to what you all are working on here so I'll repost.
I have a Google Pixel (not XL) running 7.1.1 and it too does nothing with a USB 3.0 Asix AX88179 adapter. That said, it works absolutely perfectly with the Ableconn USB2E100B USB to 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter (ASIX AX88772B Low Power). This is only a 10/100 adapter but how fast do you really need for most purposes?
In case order-of-operations matters: I plug the RJ45 cable from my Ethernet switch into the Ethernet adapter, then I plug that into the OTG adapter that came with the phone, and then plug it into the phone. It takes about 7 seconds or so for the network status lights on the Ethernet adapter to come on and then a couple seconds later I get the <⋅⋅⋅> indicator on the status bar and the LTE indicator disappears from my mobile network signal strength meter. If I go to IPChicken I do indeed see the DNS name for my home network instead of a Verizon Wireless DNS name.
Speedtest shows 89 Mbps down and 11.83 Mbps up which is of course much better than even 4G speeds. I can watch YouTube and use every network based app on the phone just fine. I can't find any way to adjust the settings of the adapter (to manually configure a static IP, subnet mask, default gateway, etc.) but since most networks have DHCP enabled this shouldn't be a huge issue very often.
I'd like to find a gigabit Ethernet adapter that works with the phone but honestly that'd just be for the sake of the quest. This adapter does everything I need - which is mostly just to be able to get onto the physical network instead of coming in via WiFi.
Even though I have the regular Pixel and not the XL I would expect that this would all be the same for you guys.
Hope this helps.
I found a partial solution to the problem that only some web pages and apps work with the ASIX AX88179 adapter: Use a vpn client and all pages and apps will work. Not ideal but better than nothing.
Anyone try this recently? Any luck? What kind of adapter? My work building has terrible cell signal, and wifi is garbage.

A working solution is detailed in this message.
The ethernet adapter used for that solution is not in stock, and Amazon says they don't know if it will be available again.

I should have put more effort into my reply. It looks like I've purchased additional adapters since those posts.
I currently have two different Gigabit adapters that work great:
Plugable USB3-E1000 (with USB C connector - plugs right into the phone)
Linksys USB3GIGV1 (with USB A connector - which I use when connecting the Pixel to a USB hub)
Both connect to my Netgear GS108 at 1000 Mbps (according to the lights on the switch) and work great.
Hope this helps.
I have a brand new 2017 Ford Raptor with Sync 3, version 3.0. I can easily connect my Samsung Note8 to it via Android Auto and it sees it immediately, connects just fine. If I unplug that device from the two USB connections, I try to connect another Android 7.0 Nougat device that is WiFi only to it, using a OBDII WiFi hotspot attached, and it connects to the internet just fine, but will not connect to the truck via Android Auto. The device is a DOOGEE BL5000, a Chinese Android device that does not have any US LTE bands, and I wanted to use a hotspot in the car to connect other devices to it on long trips anyways, so I paid $145 for an Android phone that I would use only with WiFi.
I've connected it with Bluetooth, done all the setup, and the screen shows BL5000 detected when plugging in, but absolutely will not connect to have THAT device use the Android Auto instead of my phone. My goal is to disable AA on the Note8 and have the BL5000 dedicated to AA duty while in the truck. I have tried FIVE different USB cables, two of which were factory Samsung cables, so they aren't the cheap ones, tried unplugging, plugging in, changing which USB connection type (charging / file transfer, PTP, etc), and nothing changes. The Note8 it set to just charging, so I can't imagine the setting is that important when it connects instantly. I have done a master reset on the Sync 3, had to start all over again with connections, trying the BL5000 again first without setting up the Note8, turning the truck on and off multiple times, it just won't connect.
It was said that Huawei devices for some reason won't connect to AA, don't know why or what the logic is behind that, but am I screwed with this DOOGEE BL5000? I wanted something with at least 4GB of RAM and wiping / disabling everything else but AA, Maps, Music off of it in order for it to work solely as a processor for AA that I can remove and replace, but this is becoming a headache all in and of itself.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Yes and no. The Doogee would never connect, so I was refunded the purchase on PayPal because this was all I needed the device for, the seller did not respond so I got to keep the device. I since purchased a Moto G4 unlocked and it connects perfectly, immediately, and put a SIM card in it to run directly from the device instead of through WiFi only, makes Android Auto boot time much faster this way. Hope that helps!
Thanks for your very prompt reply. Glad you managed to get a solution in the end.
I previously tried a Cubot Cheetah 2 with my car to no avail. What's interesting is that my old Samsung J5 works with AA. You'd think a phone with android 7.0 would work.
Thank you again

i have klyde headunit i bought the zte mf833v 4g modem as the manufacturer told me to buy because this is the only 4g modem that will work on my headunit..
i placed the simcard oin the modem and connect it to rear usb port but i dont get any internet connection at all.
i have px5 unit
mtce latest update from klyde..
i dont find in setting any mobile data configuration ( like on mobile phone)
Same issue there :/
I have a Belsee BP3 from Klyde, up to date, and I can't make my Huawei E3276 4G stick work with it.
The manufacturer said that all the 3G/4G sticks are compatible...
The stick lights up and shuts down then powers on then shuts down etc...
I think those head units don't let enough current flow through the USB ports :/
I bypassed the problem by using a WiFi bridge (ie : TP-Link MR-3020) in wich I plug my USB stick...
i dont have you problem with shuts down and on..
the stick stay on and show blue light that mean its cinnected, but i just dont get any 3g/4g simbole on the headunit.
i can find in the setting anything related to mobile data
anyone can help?
the 4g modem works well on my pc..
when connecting it to my pc its instal the drivere and open automatically the webpage that controll the setting and all..
just like you login to your router web settings.
but in the car it dose not open any pageits just turn on and show blue light but no internet.
maybe there is a way to install it or configure on android system

Anyone who has a solution to this problem. I don't like to use my phone, just the 4G modem connected
to the Internet. UI HA_PX5_8.0
I'm also struggling with this problem, looking for a USB modem 4g dongle which can be used with PX5 MTCD. Don't want to use a wifi dongle.
On my case only 1 usb (out of 3) was successfully identifying the huawei e8372h-608 but with no connection no matter what i did, including setting the APN
Then I read that disabling wifi should make it work, but no luck with that, can confirm not working.
Tried to contact the seller on aliexpress from where i bought the 4g dongle and he said it will not work with px5 as a modem only
My old zte 3g is recognized and working flawlessly, but its 3g and i dont know why but gives me very slow speeds.
For now i stick with the wifi coming out from the huawei e8372h
I think we can change its behavior with AT commands like they used to do on ZTE dongles, keep in mind its really risky (wrong command can brick it) and youll loose your wifi router (modem/router at a time)
If someone solved that please update
I have kanor mtce gs 2.94_4 px5 4/32 ips dsp unit
