I have a Fire Stick and basic remote. I "butt dialed" the remote by sitting on it. When I looked at my TV monitor there was a diagnostic screen I never saw before on the display. The diagnostic screen information was:
711 Page (v 0.1)

5.0 Ghz: 48
8 ******** Fire HD10 Keyboard ********

At the bottom were three buttons: [Reconnect] [Reboot] [More]
The [More] button brought up a new dialog window, with a spinner. After spinning for about 2 minutes the following displayed:
More
Throughput: 37.78 +/- 24.99 Mbps
So I was wondering if someone could figure out what buttons on the remote cause these dialogs to display?
Maybe a developer using "strings" on some internal libraries tricks or other?
Thank you. Otherwise, FYI only.

I think what you stumbled upon was system xray? Hold the down and select for 5 seconds then hit the menu button.

It is *not* actually xray. Your suggestion works for another hidden dialog. On my fire stick, standard remote, your suggestion brings up a dialog to turn on/off xray. The info on dialog:
Title: System Status Monitor
System X-Ray [OFF | ON]
Launch Network Advisor
The Launch Network Advisor displays another dialog with network info.
But, your suggestion helped. By mistake (misread your suggestion) I pressed the down and home for 5 seconds, then hit the menu button. This brings up the hidden 711 Page. So, it is sorted!
Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket soon. LOL
Many thanks!

UPDATE: So now it does *not* work. But, I did bring up the 711 Page dialog three times using the info posted. Suggestions welcome.
u mean h t t p : / / i67.tinypic.com/2zpkt1w.jpg ? Is not exactly "butt dialed"
It's something related to down /up pressing and menu button pressing. I can be run without xray .

You might want to block the 54_5_3_7_user_(number), where (number) is unique to our Amazon accounts. Kinda wish I'd blocked (number) out on my post. FYI
I got Rewind + Left then Menu to open the 711 page.

Yes. That is it! Thank you. Confirmed.
For more interesting reading google "Kindle 3 and 411/711" and mobileread.com forums. Quote:
"
I only explained how to enter the numbers in as that was the question posed by geeksquadofun in their original post. The page which geeksquadofun is referring to should have told them where exactly to type it and it was a reasonable assumption to make as geeksquadofun was not on the home screen due to the fact that Sym key didn't function. The Sym key would have worked if geeksquadofun was at the Home screen.
311 = Change GSM provider so this only exists on the Kindle 2 International and newer as older Kindles weren't GSM. It doesn't exist at all on a Kindle 3 WiFi. Don't mess with this unless you know what you're doing or at least remember to change it back. If you select the wrong provider then the 3G Whispernet connection no longer works until you set it back.
411 = Kindle version numbers. Only 1 page.
611 = Cell modem details. Around 6 pages. The details automatically refresh so you may find it bounces around a bit and the paging is unreliable. You'll notice that the cell modem is always enabled and connected even if WiFi is active. On the Kindle 3 WiFi unit, this page is still there but empty.
711 = WiFi details so only Kindle 3 units have this currently. 2 pages. You'll see signal strength, channel, what SSID you're connected to and IP address details.
"
Not specifically for the Kindle Fire Stick, but apparently these 711 Pages have some common ground on Kindle devices.

No. That number has nothing to do with your account. It's a software version...

hello,
i am using a very simple AD-converter to measure voltages (circuit based on LTC1290). Till now i used old DOS-Laptops in the field to get and store the measurements. The connection went over the serial port by using the DTR, RTS and CTS lines and the 'port commands' of the io-system.
At the moment i am thinking about a change to a xda.
I need a 'clock', a 'send data' line and a 'receive data' line. They must be switched between zero and at least 3Volts.
Can anybody tell me wether this is possible with a xda ?
- Jan -
Yeah, i would presume you can use the serial lines, although I don't think there is a clock.
You could probably use one of the serial control lines as a clock, and another one as data in and one as data out. The +5V for the thing could also be spuulied by the XDA. You will most likely not get the 50 kilosamples/second the 1290 supports, but that's likely not to be what you want anyway.
thank you Peter Poelman,
yes, a sample rate of 50kilosamples/s is not my goal.
Meanwhile i found this general page about serial communicaion with Palm's: palm serial manager with a very general statement in the 'serial hardware section':
Some devices also have a configurable DTR (data terminal ready) signal. Normally, the DTR signal is always high.
Click to collapse
Ok - some devices can manipulate the DTR-line - but which ? can the XDA ?
According to this page it seems not possible with the standard palm-os modules and routines to manipulate the the RTS line. I can only get status information about the DTR and CTS line - i am new to pda/xda programming i dont know very much about hardware architecture and but maybe someone her has some hints.

i will release next version in next few days. will be fixing few bugs i found in cidr calc which crashes when changed the mask., about screen is not coded yet, less important. .
If you have any request then do let me know.
working good, maybe need to have some ipv6 stuff
because next gen ip will be ipv6
im suggest
ipv6 ip class / unicast / multicast
ipv6 subnet calculator
maybe in the future also, mobile phone will have ipv6 tunnel client !!
so that , we can use ipv6 mobile number portability
will love it
thanks
put some network scanner, port scanner and wireless radar make it a network auditing tool like retina and netstumbler
that would be awesome!
i wish i could help in "technical" way

Ping Not Working Properly
Ping only works fine for the first time. It requires application restart to make it work. I'm using HTC HD2.
Suggestion: More network commands such as TRACERT, TELNET etc.

That was the bug in Ping which was identified, and will be fixed, already resolved in development, should patch it in next release.
Tracert/telnet good idea.
will try to include them in my todolist.
thanks.
great tool,
could have used such a useful tool during my aprenticeship.
settings --> exit is not working on my hd2
Sweet will try it soon my device won't install cab now.will look into it
Tried it, loved it. I always have problems calculating Class B IPs and I was hoping for one for my HD2 when I saw an Android version. I think it'll be better if there's support for IPv6 as well. Also, I used it for a while and found out the tool lagged about 1 to 2 second when switching to another menu, I'm still okay with that though.

Yes there is a big lag sometimes but not always, will try to take a look in deep and fix/optimize it.

Guys, I found the way to mess with the GPS settings, exactly the way we do in Bada 1.2!
//Note that the following works in Bada 2.0.1 XPKH3, and I don't guarantee that it will DEFINATELY work in the future Bada 2.0.1 betas, or final.\\
1) Enter keypad and dial *#7092463*# --> this gives you access to "Internals" menu.
-- In this menu, you can edit and test a lot of things, but always use with caution and LOGIC Also, you may want to save this code without the last "#" as a favorite contact, then load the code on the dial screen and thus entering the Internals menu without having to type it from scratch every time
2) Go to "4-Module Setting"-->"4-COMM"-->"2-Lbs"
3) Here, options:
1 Tracking Test--> This is the classic GPS signal lock test.
2 TTFF Test--> "Time To First Fix Test"- a sub-test aimed at responsiveness.
3 H/W Test--> NOT GPS signal locking test. Sensitivity & CNO test here only.
4 Settings--> (See below)
5 Delete GPS Data--> (you know what this is for, don't you?)
6 Debug Tools--> (maybe devs have interest in this)
:4 Settings options:
1 General Settings--> similar to "Application settings" in Bada 1.2, here you can actually mess with settings anyway you want.
GPS+ AutoDownload: when enabled uses your packet data or WiFi for updating the satellite files
Accuracy: by default 1000, I haven't yet tested whether a smaller value (ie. 500) produces better results.
Cold Start: I don't know what this is, maybe (IMO) it makes the GPS try to lock without using the sat files.
2 SUPL Setting--> I couldn't get into this option. Here normally would be the server that the a-GPS function downloads the sat files from.
3 H/W Setting--> I wouldn't mess with numbers here. It has something to do with tests though.
4 Set to Defatult [it means default ]--> (i guess you know this one)
5 Assist Method--> only change the method here in case someone creates a guide and commands you to do so. Normally you don't need to change this.
6 Network Profile--> You can't change from here, but that's OK, this setting can be controlled from Main Menu-->"Settings"-->"Network"-->"Application profiles"-->"Location"/"Navigation"
7 Etc Setting--> If you don't know what to do here, don't change anything.
Hope you have fun messing with the settings! Feel free to share any new discoveries, and by all means, maybe a set of settings that you find better than the default ones!
stathismes::
Know about that im waiting for Bada 2 thank you !!!
Cold start and Auto Download maybe nice thing for now if you want more change you need before set Assit mod on AGPS then you see more setting you can change like server adress...When yous changed it you reback to GPS+ mode
General Set : A-GPS UP BASED
Suupl SET :google server on server custom and google ip... port its same
You can grap GPS like maxi 40sec
change Adress
to
supl.google.com
and the port to 7262
reboot phone and then reply to GPS+ and reboot once again
For a detailed information on the GPS Settings above, you can refer to this thread: http://www.badaturkiye.com/showthread.php/bada-2-0-2690.html?

Another way to access the gps menu is by dialing *#3214789650#
BTW - IMHO the GPS works a treat in PKH2 but not in PKH3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17005437&postcount=104
It appears that setting the port to 7262 doesn't work in PKH3 either :-(
Hmm... Tigrouzen, your gps mode is interesting... Standalone doesn't work for me... Neither does MS Based... I'll try UP Based...
I think that SFR have better location support than Bouygues... I'll post here after testing.
Update: nope... UP Based makes no difference to me. :-( it's non assisted GPS every time for me... PKH3 = borked A-GPS

Dear XDA friends :laugh:today I make available an guide to align/calibrate the touch screen with more than just 4 points.
The benefit of aligning the screen with more than just more than 4 points is that the touch screen will be more acurate
when there is an touch input.
After much frustration of my 22" touch panel not registering my touch inputs the way it should I've spend weeks to search the internet
for an solution to this problem.
And the problem lies in the fact that microsofts calibration tool offers too few calibration points (4 or a few more for pen input).
This guide also applies to pen inputs but when using a pen you should keep in mind that the first point you touch while calibrating has to be with the pen.
Before starting off you should make an windows restore point. okay lets get it started.
1) Go to the control panel and open tablet pc settings.
2) Hit reset.
3) Open command prompt CMD as administrator.
4) Choose one of the following options: 4a,4b or 4c:
4a) As mine touchscreen is 22" 1680x1050 I calculated the folowing line to get 150 calibration touch points:
tabcal lincal novalidate XGridPts=5,117,229,341,453,565,667,789,901,1013,1125,1237,1349,1461,1537,1675 YGridPts=5,109,213,317,421,525,629,733,837,941,1045
Copy and paste this line above into the command prompt and hit enter than proceed to step 5.
4b) If your screen resolution is 1280x800 and you want 36 calibration see the following line:
tabcal lincal novalidate XGridPts=5,259,513,767,1021,1275 YGridPts=5,163,321,479,637,795
Copy and paste this line above into the command prompt and hit enter than proceed to step 5.
4c) If you have a different screen resolution than the ones above than calculate the best entries for your screen:
lets say you want 36 calibration points for your 1280x720 screen reslotution.
than do the folowing for the XGridPts: 1280-10= 1270
Now we make sure that we start of at XGridPts=5 and the last XGridPts=1275
that leaves us with 1270 Pts lets divide it by 5 > 1270/5= 254
So the steps will be 254Pts
As our first XGridPts=5 we keep adding 254Pts until we get around 1275Pts
So 5Pts+254Pts=259Pts and that will be our second Pts
The result will be: XGridPts=5,259,513,767,1021,1275
Next will be our YGrid:
720-10=710
Now we make sure that we start of at YGridPts=5 and the last YGridPts=715
that leaves us with 710 Pts lets divide it by 5 > 710/5= 142
So the steps will be 142Pts
As our first YGridPts=5 we keep adding 142Pts until we get around 715Pts
So 5Pts+142Pts=147Pts and that will be our second Pts
The result will be: YGridPts=5,147,289,431,573,715
So now we have succesfuly calculated the x and y grid:
XGridPts=5,259,513,767,1021,1275 YGridPts=5,147,289,431,573,715
Copy and paste this line above into the command prompt and hit enter than proceed to step 5.
5) If al goes wel you should now be presented with an calibration window with more than 4 points hit all the points and your touchscreen should be
beter to use in older applications.
if you get any syntax error make sure there are no spaces in the numbers while copy and pasting.
6) If you get an pop up message when using 4a 4b or 4c saying that there already are calibrations settings entered and that you should go
to the tablet pc settings and hit reset you should do the following:
*Go to Control Panel>Device manager
*In Device Manager, locate the device you want to remove/reset, and then double-click the device name.
*Click the Driver tab, and then click uninstall and disconnect the device from computer and restart.
Now when you reconnect the device after the restart it should reinstall the default driver settings.
Of course you should use these settings at your own risk but it shouldnt be a problem if you made an restore point.
As an result my touchscreen works 100% in every part of the screen.
If you have used this guide please let me know your results and dont forget my thanks meter .

No offense, but I don't think anyone is going to try this. Seems far too complicated.
Well I'm not so sure about that.. Beacause the moment your touch input is way of from the point that you touched you will be frustrated with a useless screen. thats when this thread will be a handy guide.
And also I do believe people are appriciating this thread because my thanks meter is climbing slowly .
Frustrating... WACOM...
So I've tried this on my series 7 slate but am having no joy...
I've tried this with default windows drivers as well as the wacom drivers and each case the results are still inconsistent.
Also settings defined in portrait adversely affect settings defined in landsacpe and vice versa...
It's quite frustrating as I need this thing for note taking...
I am actively looking into this and will share any findings with the you all.

beter to use in older applications.
if you get any syntax error make sure there are no spaces in the numbers while copy and pasting.

Maybe you should try to calculate more than 36 touch points..
Also check and see what happen if you delete all drivers and use the windows default drivers.
Please let us know your findings.

This is far too complicated...... how do you set it up for 1920x1680 ??

1920 gives you: starting point 5 and ending point 1915.
Than you do 1915 - 10 = 1910
divide 1910 by 5 -> 1910/5= 382
so your starting Xgrid point is 5.
second = 5+382=387
next 387+382=769
next 769+382=1151
next = 1151+382=1533
next = 1533+382=1915
Yeah all went well so or Xgrid will be:
XGridPts=5,387,769,1151,1533,1915
Now you do the same for the Ygrid.
start off by doing 1680-10=1670
than divide 1670 by 5= 1670/5=334
Good luck..!!:good:
Hey! This is absolutely great!
I came here looking for a method to increase calibration for my HP 2740p Tablet PC! I have successfully used your calibration data and so far it seems a lot more consistent! It used to 'drift' a lot in the middle of the screen, with the edges being alright.. Will this need to be calibrated if I rotate the screen? I'll have to reverse the X and Y values first though, but is it necessary?
Thanks for this awesome tutorial,
Regards Giles

I'm pleased that it helped you out.. i would say just experiment with it.. and dont forget my thanks meter..
There's no necessity for calculating the grid points, any grid point you give to the device, it brings it up for you in the calibration process.
Anyway, this is a great tweak, but it does not work on my ThinkPad Tablet 2. Not even with admin permission. It brings up the calculation routine with added grid points ( I tried with even 120 points ), but in the end, nothing happens, no change in accuracy at all.
What i would suggest to make this even user friendly is do the lines for the common screen resolutions like 1366x768 , 1920x1080 etc. We all know the majority of people are lazy so if you can make it copy and paste etc it'll be even more popular.
Very Useful
I found this immensely helpful. Thanks very much. I used the utility to solve the calibration on a Dell Latitude 10 - which has a wonky native screen resolution of 1366 x768. I created a batchfile and set it with admin priv and it's great. In the process of evaluating 8.1 preview the touch screen calibration got way off. It was always a little exciting because where you touched it and what happened next were not really related.
Thanks again.

I actually have the same resolution. Would you happen to still have that batch file?
Was this not done a while back, people saying its complicated, really, the other thread had people doing it over 273 (iirc) touch points and that thread was huge and the thanks were coming in left and right..
Is there a changelog for this anywhere? I just updated my 2nd gen Cube, here is what I noticed so far:
1. Around 1GB of space was freed up on my system
2. My5 app live integration now works and shows the 5 live channels
3. The sideloaded app, icon issue is still present
4. The new version DIDN'T break Launcher Manager or Wolf Launcher
What have you guys noticed about the new version so far?
Update from 7.2.1.6 took finesse.
Support suggested to ease its transition by a combo of restart & temporary unplugging the HDMI cable/try an alternate HDMI on the TV.
I had a hunch it was scheduled after I received a small 7.2.1.6 system component & requested another update. This initiated a long download, promising the long awaited 7.2.2.4 update. It seemed to stall, so I restarted & the download completed. Installation was a 2 step process, prompting the 2nd by notification. Probably took 1/2 hour.
With an existing 50/50 partitioned USBdrive, the USB manager functions look the same; there's no move apk to USB function.
FireOS 7.2.2.4 Release Notes? (work in progress)
Using AppStarter to review FireOS 7.2.2.4, I noticed a component in System components called ReleaseNotes. I hope it is a readable text file with the changelog or features list of 7.2.2.4. Remains to be seen... AppStarter cannot launch it or read it. I didn’t root the device, so search is not working in Total Commander.
My list of System components in IPVanish Split Tunnel has the following “new” components (after I undebloated 7.2.1.6 and updated to 7.2.2.4)
Asset syncservice
AVsyncslider
com.amazon.a4b.mcc.MeetingClientControllerAgent
com.amazon.ftv.xpicker.XPickerApplication
DiodeAPK
EasyUpgrade
Fire Tv Alexa Destination
Multimodal SmartHome
PrismAndroidService
PS Aftvnews mentioned four initiatives that Amazon is undertaking:
1. Cloud gaming (Luna)
2. USB camera and video conferencing
3. Redesigned Fire TV Interface launcher
4. Smart Home Dashboard (UI open via Alexa)

I think they listed it on the Amazon site way before it even rolled out, I saw similar support questions as I was curious myself. Then others started saying they had updated (on the day before this post). So I enabled the update services again and there it was. Amazon support seem to just have a list of crappy answers to copy and paste when asked questions.
