Oxygen OS on China variant - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I got a China version and want to use Oxygen OS instead of H2OS.
I read some topic and think that what process I need to do is sideload (is it correct?). But I need to ask first that do I need to unlock bootloader first or just follow the steps is ok.
Thanks!

u need the tools:

Don't know if it's too late or not, but shop.gizchina.com will sell you the Chinese variant with Oxygen OS installed. Its where I got my OP3 from.

Here be the latest tmobile US firmware for the htc 10 - https://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-10-t-mobile/news/. I myself flashed the US unlocked/developer firmware, but that requires S-off and changing your CID. Im pretty sure either firmware set will be ok for any current rom you wish to flash, as most require version 1.80.x atleast. If you plan on keeping to stock rom, I would for sure recommend flashing the unlocked/dev firmware due to less bloat, even though the tmobile firmware is pretty clean. Good luck

There is no official global stable developer rom.
You need to click on Mi5s Plus China, then download the second rom, which is the developer rom.

Xiaomi sad that but on the Mi5 I need china dev or I will get only 50% for unlocking bootloader but anyway, I use xiaomi.eu roms, so the base is china stable or china dev and this are much better than global roms from xiaomi.
Now I flash xiaomi.eu dev and even the icons are better ?
Agree i am now on eu rom 6.11.10

Root requires to unlock the bootloader or a hack like in MM where it was possible without unlock. Unlocking the bootloader is the common way to root your phone as long as the vendor allows you to do that. LG allows that for the g4 models h815 international and h811 only.
Once the bootloader is unlocked you can flash TWRP and root your phone .
Downgrading to MM is possible, too ofc. Has been asked and answered multiple times here. Try the XDA search for that .
