Android System Storage - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I have had a look around but cannot find the answer. I was looking at my Storage & USB and my Android System is showing 11.3GB.
When i looked in Disk & Storage Analyzer i get a different result.
Does anyone know how to rectify this.

[Q] USB Hard Drive Problem

Ok, so I know there are loads of 'guides' on how to get your game data moved across to a USB device, and believe me when I say I've tried them all. They all seem to have different methods/information contained in them. Nothing is working and I need some help before my OUYA takes flying lessons...
- I have an 80GB USB HDD with a 40GB NTFS partition and a 2nd EXT4 partition (32GB).
- I've got the Play Store installed, plus some games from it, and want to move the gama data from Android/data and Android/obb to the HDD to free up my console's internal memory.
- OUYA 'sees' the NTFS partition of the HDD under Settings/Storage, but not the EXT4 (is this normal?)
- I'd REALLY appreciate it if someone could take the time to write a simple step by step guide for me (and I'm sure others will appreciate it too) to help me accomplish this, explaining the process from the ground up, what apps to use etc.
Just so you know, here's what I already tried:
- USB OTG Helper (mounted the NTFS partition to some obscure location on internal memory???)
- FolderMount (says it's moved data to the HDD, but when I browse the drive there's nothing there)
- Links2SD (using the guide posted here on XDA - mount script kept telling me there was no 2nd partition (which is BS) and again, nothing showing up on HDD if I browse it.
Am I being incredibly stupid or just missing something really obvious? Or did OUYA 'break' these methods with the last update?
Any help greatly needed and appreciated!

[Q] SGH-i747 shows external SD card as "internal storage"

Good morning,
I have inadvertently found myself where my SGH-i747 running Cyanogenmod 4.4.2 nightly, presently 5/27/2014, shows storage as swapped. I.E. When I go to settings/storage I see 6GB external and 16 GB internal. This wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that I'm getting insufficient storage available even though over 10 GB are shown as available. When I go into a file Explorer there are multiple emulated paths with redundant files/folders.
I'm looking for a thread that will show me how to format both internal and external storage followed by a reinstall of the OS. I've looked for days and while I see plenty of instructions where the OS sees the storage properly, I'm not sure it will work in my environment.
Does the fact that my phone has the storage swapped make a difference when doing a full blown format and reinstall?
If I do need to follow a different set of steps because my storage is logically swapped, would you please point me in the right direction?
My end goal is to have the majority of my storage usable. I have very few apps installed, no pictures, etc... Yet I'm constantly getting out of storage errors. If there's a simpler way than to format the whole device, reinstall OS then restore apps and data, please point me to the right post.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.
Regards,
Frank

Do you see the same storage swap when you view your device on a computer rather than checking on the device itself? I would suggest you switch to a stable or (even if temporarily) stock ROM to see if there would be any changes. Once you've backed up your data, apps etc, a complete system restore would format your device whilst you can easily format the (external) SD card on your computer. Also check the SD card you are using to be sure it is legit and the listed storage capacity is indeed the actual storage. There have been quite a few complaints about SD cards purchased especially on places like eBay that are listed as one thing but are actually another.
Also idk if this helps but KitKat reads SD cards differently so you might be getting weird values

Lineage 16 on Samsung Galaxy S5 - 'Internal Shared Storage'

Hi there,
I have flashed multiple versions of Lineage, the latest being: lineage-16.0-20190923-nightly-klte-signed
I also have installed: open_gapps-arm-9.0-mini-20190924 and addonsu-16.0-arm-signed
If I go to Storage >> Device Storage - I see 5.24GB used of 16.00 GB - however, if I take a screenshot and try to save it, I get:
can't save screenshot due to limited storage space
I have no issues to see the SD Card.
When I connect the S5 to my W10 PC it reflects what I experience in the phone, please see attached picture.
If I boot in recovery mode, connect the phone to my PC, both 'Internal Shared Storage' and 'SD Card' are visible with their respective values.
Due to this, I cannot save a screenshot or even restore a backup because it keeps telling me that there is not enough space on my phone's internal storage to restore.
Is this a bug or something with the permissions???
Please help me as I have been dealing with this issue for days now and I cannot find neither much help online nor a solution.
Thank you,
Alex
Hi there,
Since nobody reacted, I am going to report this as a bug.

error could not migrate data to the external storage

Situation - Conducted a full reset of TV. Added USB drive as extended storage. Migrated data to USB storage. Installed KODI 19.4, KODI is on USB Storage.
Problem - All KODI data continues to be stored under MISC on the internal storage of the TV (2.4 GB worth) When attempting to migrate data to USB in storage settings I now receive an error that could not migrate data to the external storage. How can I fix this?
Information
Model: KD-75X80K
Android TV 10
USB: Samsung 3.1 64GB
After formating the usb drive as device storage, select to migrate later, after that, with the drive formatted as device storage, Just go back to systems => storage => usb drive => move data.

okay so, your flash drive is USB version 3.1, but what about the TV?
The TV is also USB 3.1 but that has nothing to do with my problem.

I have attempted to use this method. I have four other Android devices that I did the exact same process to that have migrated data and where KODI stores its files on the new storage location. Only on this device am I having this issue.
I am curious if Sony blocked the ability to migrate data on their Bravia Android TVs. On my three other devices transferring data to the external shared drive has worked flawlessly.
UPDATE: I compared my three other Android devices against my Sony TV.
HISENSE Android TV and NVIDIA Shield Pro x 2
The above devices had no problem creating external storage on USB. ALL store KODI data on the USB and migrated data to USB.
SONY Bravia - The folders on both the USB and TV Android OS are secured. On my other three devices they are not. Even in developer mode with force apps to USB the USB folder remains locked.
I believe the reason KODI does not write to the USB is because the folder is locked to the program and so it continues to use the TV internal storage.
KODI has a solution to solve this issue in Android
https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Change_data_location_for_Android
HOWEVER, both my USB and System folders are LOCKED and there are only two ways to accomplish this fix.
Sony pushes an Android update to allow access to the folders
I ROOT my TV - No customer should have to do this
If there is another solution from tech any tech gurus I am all ears. However, as a long-time Sony owner, I am very disappointed that I paid top dollar for my TV because it has an Android environment only to find out through use that its capabilities have been limited impacting my ability to fully use my system.
