Adapter / splitter (?) - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a cable which plugs into my charging port which then has a usb slot on the end. I want to watch films on my tablet which I can now do but I also need to be able to charge the tablet at the same time. Is there some kind of double socket I can plug into the charger point that I can then use to plug the charger and my existing usb cable into use both at the same time? What would this be called, I've tried searching splitters and adapters but this only seems to come up with car chargers which is not what I need.
Thanks!

USB Travel Charger

Anybody come across a USB travel charger for the XDA II? I have the USB cable just need a charger that outputs 5v and between 1 and 2amps and has the usual US, UK, EU, Aus and NZ attachements. Expansys.com have one but outputs 5.5v - not sure if that will damage the battery, proporta.com have one also but outputs 9v! Why these chargers don't stick to the standard 5v is beyond me.
not sure what you mean but usb in this context
the connector in the buttom of the xda2 is not a usb connector
and usb cant provide more then 500mA
If you have a usb cable for xda 2 you can acquire a lighter adaptor into which you plug the cable, this will give the correct voltage.

Some power adapters come with USB sockets - I think it should become a standard so with the same cable you can get power from laptop/cigarette lighter/mains. Ericsson used RJ11 cables (modem cable) for it's mobile phone chargers but it never caught on.

Thanks for the link, I have two of them already, looking for something to plug into mains.
Mark,
I think I know what you mean: A plug (either 12v in-car or 110V/230V mains) that supplies just +5V DC on a USB socket.
Received one with my retractable sync'n'charge cable from time168.com (but those guys dont exist anymore).
Also received two with my BT GPS from DConnex.
I would say they are for sale on eBay, at least with the sellers that supply these sync'n'charge cables.
I made an emergency charger myself based on USB: 4 NiMH AA cells (1.2V each) in a battery-holder & wired to a USB socket. Not pretty, but good enough for emergency.
You might want to look at www.javoedge.com. They have a USB retractable sync/charge cable and you can also get adapters that allow you to plug the usb cable into a US/European/wherever plug socket adapter.

I had a look at those - they're not really travel chargers just US and EU chargers and a bulky adapter for the UK.

That sounds like a good idea. Proporta.com have a 9v charger
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=940&t_mode=des but I was thinking AA batteries would be easier to get in an emergency.
Since I only know basic electronics I used 4 rechargeable NiMH cells that gice approx 4.8v alltogether. With normal (alkaline) AA cells you probably end up above 6V. I would not try that . . .
Setback of my solution is to have an AAcharger with me for longer trips.
About the travel adapter: The usb travel adapters I have came in two flavours:
1. Car cigarette lighter use
2. Mains use. I also got a number of 'plugs' with it to make the adaptor fit a variety of mains wall outlets.

Extra Long AC Charger

anyone ever come across any longer than average account chargers? been trying to find one on the net with no luck. I know I can use a account adapter with a usb port and get a longer micro usb cable but I dont like the thickness and weight of normal usb cables.
Go to amazon and buy a micro-usb sync cable. I got one of those that was like 15feet and plugged it into the wall charger adapter thing that came with the phone

Car Adapter Splitter Recommendation?

Has anybody used a splitter for 12V port in a car with any luck, particularly with the Nexus Wireless Charger? I have been using a USB adapter with no issue, but could use the extra port.
I have tried two from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/AVANTEK-3-Socket-Cigarette-Dual-Port-Computers/dp/B00F474DVG/ (received a replacement as well)
http://www.amazon.com/cigarette-lighter-charger-Cigarette-splitter/dp/B003YJ8TVQ/
Products both seem to work, Plemo customer service was excellent, too. However, the charger does not work on the 2.1A USB port. If I use the previous USB adapter into the splitter, the charger functions as desired. I believe the charger is max 1.8A? I am using the USB cable that came with the charger, and have tested it with an alternate cable. I have not tested it with a charge-only cable. Don't have much knowledge in these things, so not sure if I should try it with a charge-only cable before trying yet another splitter. Just thought I'd post the question in the meantime to see if anybody had any luck with a similar setup, and what pieces they used for it.
TIA

usb cable charging problems

so i have two usb cables and original. 2.0 amp samsung wall charger, the samsung cable i use for wall charger at home so when i setup my s3 as a AP i need constant 2.0 amp from charger keep up with the demand and charge the battery at same time but now i cant do that i have turn off hotpot and leave the phone alone so i can charge. i brought in my car usb cable, and now i can hotpot and charge at the same time no problem, so what is the problem with other cable? i mean cable still works and i still can use it for data transfer etc...
just cant use as heavy demand cable.
I have some cables from the "box o' cables" we seem to collect that have the same issue. Some of them won't keep up with the s3 others won't keep up with my n7. I notice it more with older cables so it seems to me that its the cable breaking down or wear on the contacts inside the connector itself.

Pass-thru Wireless Charging Receiver?

I'm looking for one of two options:
1) A wireless charging receiver (USB Type C) that also has a female USB type c to allow me to plug in the adapter for headphones, or a charging cable for when there's no wireless charging device nearby.
2) A small and portable splitter dongle so that the wireless charging receiver can be installed as well as an adapter for headphones, or a charging cable for when there's no wireless charging device nearby.
Anyone see anything like this around? I know there's a similar thread asking for a splitter (https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/accessories/usb-c-splitter-charging-t3723795), but everything in that thread is too large for me to carry around all the time in my pocket.
I understand this possibly violates USB type C spec since it's essentially allowing two sources of power, but I'm never going to plug in a charging cable while it's sitting on a wireless charger.
