HI!
I have tried to find a solution for this issue for a while now. My OP3 is connecting to Media Nav system and then disconnects after 2 seconds. After trying different OOS versions and small modifications - nothing seemed to help.
However, recently I have found solution that RessurectionRemix ROM has fixed this issue. At the moment I do not want to install non OOS roms, because of no DASH support. Does anyone know how to check what was changed in Bluetooth settings/programming from OOS to RessurectionRemis? Maybe I will be able to use files or adjust current files and get Bluetooth working.
I appreciate any advise

I have this exact problem too. Still persists on 3.2.4 as of yesterday . The only difference is this happens in my Cadillac SRX.. connects, then disconnects after two seconds, and won't connect again. I have tried stock, and FreedomOS ROM (based on stock) w/ ElementalX kernel; no change. Did you move to RR for the fix, or did you find a fix for stock ROMs?
I have moved to RR, the only ROM that works now.

Hmm, and Bluetooth works as expected in the car now?
I am now on CE 3.5.1 From Freedom OS. And I have got BT working with my car now. Just 1 bug. U have to toggle BT on the phone once for it to connect.

Thanks! Will check it out! I'm on Freedom OS but not CE yet.
Same issue. OOS3.2.4 bluetooth disconnects after 2 seconds on Renault Media Nav. All other phones (Samsung E7, J7) work fine.
Silly answer, but have you tried to reset media nav ?

Hey there,
I'm having a problem with the bluetooth on my desire...
I'm running stock android 2.2, unrooted...
The phone seems to work totally fine, but the bluetooth refuses to connect to my car kit... it has worked fine from day one and now all of a sudden it connects for a few seconds and then disconnects, and then when you go into the bluetooth settings to re-connect it, the menu just hangs... if you leave it for a few seconds the phone then reboots...

THANK YOU so much! That looks like it'll do the trick, now my only problem is how the eff do I install it? I've tried to copy it to the root of the mem card but it looks like the recovery thing on my phone is toast... even though it's got stock firmware on it...
Will it be easier to root the phone?
Ok, I am now Rooted and running LeeDrOiD 2.2f which apparently includes the Bluetooth fix as mentioned above...
But the problem persists...
It's definitely not the radio, because it pairs and works perfectly with another phone.
Any other ideas?

Which bluetooth fix is implemented in leedroid? I would rather recommend you a cyanogenmod 6.1 ROM, or a ROM that's built on CM. For me this fix implemented there has worked. FYI, CM are AOSP and without sense.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
The fix is "[MOD][21-July] Fix Bluetooth CarKit disconnection" and apparently fixes the issue...
Hmm, I kinda like the sense interface so would be sad to see it go...
My Desire also has a bluetooth problem in connecting with my car. Not the disconnections, but phonebook/callist access fails. Installing an AOSP Rom (or MIUI) fixes the problem, but I do like sense too.
I've concluded the sense-bluetooth stack is the culprit, however I don't have the knowledge to change the stack. Thus, I'll wait until somebody has fixed it or HTC updates the stack or until I'll buy a new phone
I am happy to say that the problem is gone when using Cyanogen Mod 6.1.0
It doesn't transfer the phone book, but the phone function works... so I'm happy...
Just have to now get used to android without sense... hmmm...

Hi, as i am having the same issue and dont really want to use a Cyanogen rom , before i do what vehicle did you get it to work with.
cheers
It was with a Pioneer DEH-P710BT head unit with built-in bluetooth...
The strange thing is that it worked absolutely perfectly for MONTHS and now all of a sudden is giving problems...
It is however, definitely the phone giving the problem because the head unit pairs perfectly with any other phone, and when using the cyanogen mod rom, the desire works perfectly with it.
Hi All,
I was wondering if it was just me or everyone is having the same issue. Prior, when my phone was on D85120g and the phone was paired to my car, the song information was being sent and displayed on my car's screen. However, since the Marshmallow upgrade, the song information is not being sent over. I have tried the stock music app, spotify, and Google Play Music. Have you guys experienced this?
It's caused by changes in Bluetooth permissions in marshmallow sadly. Had that issue since I switched to cm13 (it's the same cause)

Thanks for the info @Travisholt92. Just wanted to let you know if that you take the latest nightly from CM13, it works. I just installed CM13 a couple of days back and took the latest nightly. However, I reverted back to stock since I have very poor cell reception at my work and need to rely on wifi calling.
un-pairing and re paring + reset car's Bluetooth - didn't solved it...
I remember that 6.1 had this problem too until monthly security fix it...
Any suggestions to fix this?
Sorry, no suggestions to fix it. Just confirming that I have car BT connectivity issues as well since 7.1.1.
I can connect the device, but the BT connection keeps dropping and coming back every few seconds.
Thanks for confirming this, tried the pixel 7.1 rom back in October and had the same issue, been waiting to hear if they fixed this on the official 5x rom but looks like they haven't, so sticking with 7.0 until they do.
I have no issues connecting, but I am using the PN 7.1.1 rom, not stock.
I'm on PureNexus, too, and had no problems, neither on 7.0 nor 7.1.
Yep here. Problem is with stock rom. Cm and purenexus works just fine. I wrote to google and they were suggesting 1:1 support which I can't use because of my country.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Also having this BT carkit connect issue since 7.1.1 update. It connects/disconnects every few seconds. I am on stock ROM.
Best shot is to wait for google to hopefully fix this, which I highly doubt.
I'm on OmniROM, but this would happen on stock as well. Sometimes, the Bluetooth will turn off and stay off until I reboot. Anyone else have this?

I haven't had that problem on Omni. Everything is working fine for me. Maybe it's the bluetooth device that you are using.

Maybe. I only connect to my LG G Watch, and the Bluetooth in my car radio. I'll have to troubleshoot and see which might be causing my issue.
EDIT: I did some reading up and apparently, this is a common Nougat issue that should be patched up in the next few security updates. In the meantime, I read that disabling battery optimization on 'Bluetooth Share' and 'Bluetooth MIDI Services' should help. Did that a few hours ago, and its been OK so far, but I can't say for sure for another day or two.
EDIT2: Alright! Its been two days, and not a single issue. I think that did it!
Same ROM same issue (just once or twice since 2017-03-03), yesterday I just disabled WIFI after that my Bluetooth works fine.

I'll give that a try! The issue has been far less frequent, but it did pop up once today.
I have the same issue with the ROM.

I'm not so sure its an issue with OmniROM. I had it worse on stock. It happens on the Nexus and Pixel phones, too; it's a Nougat issue and Google said in February they're going to address it in a security update. Whenever Google weeds it out, the fix'll be brought in with the OmniROM weekly.
I've got the problem again yesterday, disable WIFI did'nt help; I had to reboot the device to get Bluetooth.
Hi all,
Since the last few firmware versions (OS 4.02 and above) I´ve been experiencing some issues exclusively with the Bluetooth connection of my car (Jaguar XE). I couldn’t fixed the problem even with the last firmware version rolled out via OTA (4.1.0).
In the last two months the connection of my Jaguar has not been stable at all. Most of the times I am able to pair my phone with the car, upload my contacts and so. However, once I start to transfer music of Spotify via Bluetooth, it keeps failing the "multimedia audio" and the connection is interrupted the whole time. I also lose the connection with the “phone audio”. I seems that my phone disables both connections intermittently. My guess is that Android Nougat is a "control freak" of permissions and this leads to issues with some car stero units.
In the previous versions of the firmware (4.01 and below) I didn´t experienced such problem. In the past I did have perfect connection to play spotify in my car with my same Oneplus Unit. I am very confident that there is nothing wrong with my car stereo unit since the Bluetooth still working fine with my wife´s phone. I haven´t upgraded my Jaguar´s firmware lately…so that shouldn´t be the source of my problem.
Despite of all this, the Bluetooth of my Oneplus unit works perfectly fine with any other Bluetooth devices . In fact I am able to enjoy full connection playing music with my External Speaker (UE BOOM 2) and my Xiaomi roidmi 2s –used in my other car that lacks of Bluetooth technology -.
I´ve tried everything. A couple of days ago I even performed a factory reset using the last version of firmware (4.1.0). Of Course I reset system settings, wiped cache and all data (music, pics…etc)…but still experiencing the same issue. I am desperate.
Any instruction will be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
So there was another thread on these boards, cant find it for right now... but in my experience the problems were only present on OOS rom's.
Perhaps not the best solution, but have you tried a CAF or Lineage OS based rom? All my problems went away after I made the switch
Good luck

Thank you Gomezie, I´ve read all the threads but I dont seem to find the solution.
I stick to stock os. Never changed my stock rom.
The funny thing is that OP stated in its last changelog that they have fixed bluetooth problems....
Kind regards,
Hi, my one plus 3 has the same problem. Done all the required resets and clearing of cache and it still would randomly connect and disconnect. Problem only surface after the recent 4.1.0 update.
My kids phone and wife's phone all have no issues.
My op3 connects with all other Bluetooth devices without any problems.
Mine is a f-pace .
Same problem in Mazda 6
Hi, I've been experiencing similar problem in Mazda 6 after software update. Everything was working perfect in previous versions. I my case problem is with using Spotify. Phone connects to the headunit, just after engine starts with no isuess, but the music won't start to play. Only way to start playback is to disconnect the phone manually and reconnect every single time. Re-pairing the phone with car doesn't help.
I sent an email to customer service a couple days ago. i haven't got any reply yet. I will let you know.
Regards.

I finally did receive a reply from OP customer service: The only solution they offer me is trying a downgrade to OS Oxygen version 3.2.8. This is the link suggested by the technical agent to do so:
http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3/oneplus_3_oxygenos_3.2.8/
I haven´t done it yet since I am not eager to this idea.
On the other hand, in the meantime, OP rolled out new OTA 4.1.1. I made the upgrade to the latest firmware version. It seemed to work at first. However right now I am having the same problems with bluetooth disconnecting the whole time.
Any other experiences?? Have anyone solved this issue with new OTA???
Kind regards,
Bluetooth and 4.1.1
It's worse now on 4.1.1. definitely not the car, Samsung works ok
Hi,
I've experienced the same problems starting on OpenBeta 12 and continuing through to OOS 4.1.1. I've posted in the Open Beta 12 thread on the Oneplus forums, and have been contaced by Oneplus regarding the issue. For the Open Beta I have provided log files for them, but due to work and private life getting in the way have not been able to do the same for OOS 4.1.0 or OOS 4.1.1. Also, I did not clean flash, but dirty flash - because I'm really lazy and stuff. It needs too much time, to be honest
Maybe if everyone who has the problem here contacts the guys at OP or the OP forums, respectively, providing logs etc. the problem can be solved faster.
I did some googling around and found a few articles that hinted in the direction of Android 7.1.1 being the culprit, which would mean that Google needs to fix it. In these articles, it said Nexus devices, and a fix coming up...don't know...
Best regards,
Chris
My phone audio always works fine but the media audio on both my nissan and ford sync system works randomly or not at all on both stock and Lineage based roms. My wife's iPhone 6s works perfectly every time on both cars. Fortunately for me it's not a big deal since both cars have usb inputs and I keep all my music on thumb drives...My old Galaxy S6 Edge works fine on both cars too so I am not sure why the OP3 is so spotty.
