I'm having the same problem with Three UK, no 4G. Although 4G worked on my Lumia 1020 with the same SIM a few days ago.
If I go into the hidden menu under LTE you can set it to use LTE and it connects to 4G brefiely then goes back to 3G and it never shows GSM/ WCDMA / LTE auto in the mobile networks menu, just GSm / WCDMA auto.
I noticed on the demo unit in a Three store that the phones software version was V10a-EUR-XX whereas mine is V10g-HKG-XX.

Is there anything that can be done without root? I've tried setting the LTE in the hidden services menu and it connects foe a few seconds and then goes back to HSDPA. If seeting to LTE only it stays on LTE but not sure how it will work if I leave 4G coverage? I've also enabled fast dormancy but that doesn't seem to help.
There was a discussion about this in the UK thread, some phones came with 4G deactivated (on the 800MHz band used by 3 and Vodafone) that had to be activated at every boot. Replacing it fixed the problem as its not supposed to happen. But since the phone is from Asia who knows. Im not sure if flashing the eur version of the rom would work?

fast dormancy is a network dependant setting that has nothing to do with the generation of signal you are receiving.
The only other option you have is to try and flash another firmware version.

LTE will work from the hidden menu, or download 4G switcher from the Play store which will take you to the menu also. Just change it to LTE/GSM/WCDMA and it will work on the 4G network (at least on 3 UK). LG UK support will not help as it came from HK. I still want to know if I can flash a Euro 32GB ROM to my phone to get it working natively.
make sure u have activate your LTE with your carrier,i you have done it,and still didnt have LTE, try the hidden menu,or try 4G switch frm playstore, rooting and deleting lteconfig from system/app would be your last option (i prefer this)

my lte/3g/2g settings was everytime reset to 2g/3g modus when i got back to settings. i deleted lte config.apk and the .odex file, rebooted and BAM! it keeps on lte/3g/2g
Solved
I had the same issue (no LTE option in Networks configuration menu), until today: My phone installed firmware V10i-HKG-XX, and now I have the "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" option in Preferred Network Mode.

Do the following -
1. From the dailer, type in 3845#*855#
2. Select LTE Only
3. Modem Setting
4. RAT Selection
5. GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto
You should now receive 4G but everytime you reboot, you have to repeat this procedure
I live in Detroit,USA. I am using T-Mobile.My cell phone is Lg G3 Cat6. But I can not connect LTE. ( Only 3G ). Can you help me?
Make sure the APN is set to T-Mobile settings and if that doesn't work then it may not support the American LTE bands and you will be stuck in 3G.
I don't think the F460 supports T-Mobile's penta band set up, it may only work with a couple of them. Check their bands and then look in your service menu by dialing 5457#*460#
Hi
Currently I'm not being able to get the 4G network and in mu country they're using the 1800 frequency (LTE 1800).
Is there a way to change it in the settings so as I can get hold of the 4G?
Thanks.

You should get 4g on the 1800 frequency. You can change between 3g and 4g in mobile data settings. However even if your network has 4g it will display 3g if you are not in a strong 4g signal area. It is the same here in the UK, 4g is fine where I live but I go over a bridge 5 minutes walk away and I can only get 3g! On some networks you need a new sim card for 4g to work as I did. Also do you have the correct APN settings for your network?
Yes I have the correct APN; otherwise if it's wrong I won't even get any data connection. Yes, I might be in a region where it's weak or unavailable but when I'm in a region fully covered by 4G, just outside the HQ of Orange, I still don't get it.
Try using mtk engineering mode app from play store(by go! or themonster) to force LTE - it's under telephony/network selecting.
yes then what do you do?

There is an app called netvelocity by jio. It tells the info regarding the band and other info as well
Dial *#*#4636#*#* go into phone information >> press the 3 dots menu >> choose radio bands ..
Choose band 40 from the list ....
I am using Jio as well .. It does change the band to 2300 MHz and I get about 40Mbps Instead of abysmal 2 Mbps on 850 MHz !
You need to do that every time you boot your phone .

Setting the band 40 in this option will result in setting the same band for both sims ...
i m using normal 2g/3g sim in sim1 slot and jio sim in sim2 slot..
after selecting band 40 in that settings will result in no network for sim1(normal reliance sim)..
so , how to rectify that..??

after some times , signal for normal sim2 gone , have to restart my mobile to get network in normal sim
You can't really choose your own band.
We have some parameters in the Network, that decide the priority of which frequency band you connect to.
Generally, where Signal, quality and load allow, we let you connect to higher frequency.

There is an app named netvelocity.. Just google jiostore and download it from there.. But problem for me is thay the bands are not getting locked for me from *#*#4636#*#*. The connection does get reset after selecting band 40 but netvelocity app shows 850mhz band and speed remains same as well. Only when i go outdoors then my op3 gets connected to band 40 nd i get full 4g speed of around 30-40 Mbps

Same here.. Can't go on to band 40 even after selecting it and band 850 is giving almost 2g speeds... Everytym i have to go outside my house to download any big file.. Someone needs to solve this for us... I don't want to hate my oneplus 3 for this
selecting band 40 won't make you stop connecting to band 5,
and sadly there's no way we can lock our LTE connection to certain band yet, neither to set the preference
i understand your frustation, since my provider is also using band 5 & 40 for the LTE. If you are in rural/suburban area, it will connect to 850Mhz most of the time, since lower freq has a better penetration and coverage range.
2300Mhz mostly used in city & building, since it can give better throughput

Hello, I have a G4 H815 with some weird problem. Anytime it connects to 4G network is unstable, dropping and coming back. I have tried with 2 different providers, with 3 different stock roms LP, MM and Nougat. APN's are set correct. I have entered Hidden menu and there Engeenering mode, and there I was watching that 4G qpes quickly from B3 to B20 (LTE bands supported in my country) and also goes to B0 (???) and vice versa. It seems that 4G is most stable when is on B3, and that is dropping down when on B20 or B0 (??) When it's connected on 3G (H+) there is no problem and the network is stable. My wife have same H815 without problems, and I have watched Engeenering mode her phone stays stable on B3, and it doesn't change bands so often. Anyone can tell me some solution? Thanks.
So I have managed to downgrade to Lollipop, rooted the phone, installed Network Signal Guru, and then with that APP to disable all other networks except B3, and now phone works as it should. So I think the problem was B20 (800 mhz), but I'm not sure why.

Its likely your network provider operates on more than one band for 4G
You could set it to 3G, or like you did disable the band
Network Problem Solved!!!
sometimes no network problem solved!!!
1) i am using g4 f500k which had weird network\signal problem. i've tried many options but no success. Finally I dial 5457#*500# got into WCDMA service menue>MPTCP settings>MPTCP Congestion change and select ''OLIA''. That completely solved my problem with no more network issue. If you have a deferent varient follow this dial code 5457#*your model# hope this would work.
2) also select WCDMA chanel into "user"
Solved!!!!
